I start walking 3 miles on June 2022 my weight was 145 , now June 2023 my weight is 114, my blood pressure was 140,now 117. Now I walk 6 miles a day, 7 days. I am proud of of myself. If I can do it, you can do it to. Good luck everyone. ❤😂😊
.
Congratulations. Very good and inspiring to us out here.
I’m starting tomorrow. Thank you
❤
I am currently 145 and just started walking for about an hour everyday. Would love any tips or any other advise you have, would love to achieve the same goal!
Did you also change your diet?
I walk everyday and it’s changed my life
I love walking!! It's my sanity!! I'm 64 & walk 5-6 miles a day!
I'm one year younger, 6 miles takes me 3 hours! 😃
Good to see older people healthy! That’s my goal for when I’m older.
!!!!!!!!!!!!! How much time does that take you ?
Good. I must learn your spirit.
Can you do a few miles for me ...
I’ve been walking close to every day for 50 years! I’m turning 65 this 4th of July! I’ll be walking till I die😂
Happy solar return in advance, I hope you enjoy your life and stay healthy for a long time with your loved ones dear stranger ❤
Well Happy early Birthday 😊
@@amyrudolph2079 thanks friend!!
Walking 10000 steps a day for the past 16 months and the results are amazing
I am 10 days into quitting smoking AND just started making walking a part of my daily routine. Just got through walking 5.5 miles and I feel great!
That’s great. Every time I hear of someone quitting smoking I am really happy for them.
How long does that take you ?
@nancydavieau it varies from 1 and a half to 2 hours. I don't keep track really and I don't speed walk. I just keep a consistent determined pace.
Great news ,smoking is a funny game , you pay a lot of money to give yourself cancer and a early death ,, while the executives of smoke factorys are driving red sports cars ...
Never go back , be a true winner ...
Bravo. Congratulations and wishing you all the best.
I walk around 5 miles everyday, it's great for my physical and mental health
I love to walk every single day. I feel great and I feel better than I felt before I started. Walking in good!
I walk or run my 2 Giant Schnauzers 8 miles a day, I also lift weights, and ride my Mt Bike up in the hills of the San Francisco Bay Area.. Your Video makes me want to walk even more!!!!
: ) Thank you!!!! Keep on Walkin'!!!! ; )
This is a great video. I’m a runner, still, sort of, actually not really anymore. I’ve had to cut way back on running because of knee, hip and ankle pain. I thought running was necessary for weight management and by walking instead I’d gain weight. But that hasn’t happened. If anything the reverse has happened. I find I am much less hungry when I walk vs run. Even if I walk the same distance as I’d typically run. I also sleep better. I think running is very stressful on the body. And if your someone with anxiety issues and a lot of stress already (like me) running probably isn’t the best idea. Walking is just relaxing.
I have found the same...enjoyed running all my life..5k, 20k, and marathon. I recently had a lower back injury and have had to start walking... I find walking way less stressful on the body...less impact and I also don't crave the same foods after a walk as I would with a run. Walking is more relaxing and I can listen to a podcast. Also easier mentally to walk every day than run every day. Walking will be my new exercise
I aim for daily walks, but sometimes skip a day and I feel it. It’s just a lethargy that comes over me when I don’t get my walk in. Such great medicine and it feels good too.
I gave up my car 12 years ago & walk miles everyday. I have young kiddies who walk everywhere & you really see the benefits of using their energy walking in the fresh air compared to their peers who are stuck traveling in cars all the time ( usually hyper active & destructive behaviours). We, as a family love & enjoy walking.
Walking is the best!
Thanks so much AGAIN for being so informative and in such a simple way we can all understand and absorbe easily. I’ve been all my life a runner and last year I sustained a brain injury which stopped me from any intense exercise so I started walking more often. Now that I can run again I choose walking 😊
7,000 steps in half an hour? Sounds like running to me :). I walk lots (and love it, too :), usually over 9k per day, and I am a relatively fast walker...9k takes me at least 1 hr 15...
Great and informative video! I walk every day because that's how I get to and from work. Best decision I've ever made was to walk to work rather than bus. I feel like I start my day better that way.
I love walking as well!
Love the video! Thanks for sharing and putting your thoughts here.
I do not stress myself out on an amount I should walk. I’m a very active 60 year old grandmother with arthritis. I strive to walk daily 30-60 minutes. If my day gets too busy, oh well🤷♀️
Totally agree with you. If a day is missed, it's missed...that is such a relaxed attitude. A relaxed attitude keeps you healthy, too. And if a day is missed, there's always the next time 👏
I walk, run and clap cheeks so I got my exercise in and my heart pumping
@@denzmo1139 Clap cheeks?
@@spirituallysafe yeah let me show you
I love walking, I try to go for 30 minutes a day when the weather allows…
I walk everyday for at least an hour with my dog. Quite brisk walking because he is full of energy! It sets you up for the day.
Correction there is a difference between walking outside and inside, indoors that us. All walking is good but outside we also get the benefit of light therapy from daylight and benefits from good fresh air ( more oxygen and negative ions) so outside is better though all exercise of any kind is a benefit there are added benefits from being outside ( treats, SAD, depression, insomnia, in the early morning, sets oir body clock).
I'm in a mich better mood if I walk my dog first thing in the morning. Love to hear the birds, see nature in the morning light, and breath the fresh air. It's a great time to get a Podcast in or spend time with my family. I at the age of 38 have hip that I need to be careful with so walking suits me best than a workout with a lot of kicking or high leg movements.
Thank you, I knew that walking was important but this video has open my eyes on the reason why walking is so beneficial. thank you!
I'm just beginning to walk again for short bursts, post spinal surgery last year. I have an issue with one hip so it's walk sit, walk sit. I'm grateful I live by the sea. I actually cycle everywhere and cycling by the sea is my favourite thing to do most of the year. I do get off and walk a bit with my bike also. July 1st is my birthday. My hip is improving with the deep stretching I do daily. Getting there with the aid of my rebounder, water rower, step, weights, resistance bands as well as pilates and dance 😁
Happy Birthday!
My birthday is July 1st too!! I’m a Canada 🇨🇦 Day girl. Big celebration with fireworks as it’s my country’s birthday as well.
That sounds amazing, living by the sea. I’d be out there a lot too. Sounds like you’re doing great with recovery! Happy birthday.
Thank you Jessica! I love your channel and services. You have been a part of my journey to get back to health. I agree with you, don't measure it if you can't. Just start five minutes, get off the couch/chair. Thank you for all that you do and using your strengths and talents to help others.
I've been walking since Feb 2016 and took off 40 pounds first year and just walking daily fine maintenance. Also my body looks different besides the weight loss Also no more blood pressure pills
Thank you :) I hope you will do again a challenge now in April 2024 :)
Thanks! Great video. I'm 60, started running marathons in 2020 (5 hrs).. in a run local run club and always inviting friends. All are enthusiastic to start but have legit excuses.. "my knees", "I had an injury", "I had surgery", "I'm embarassed"... I then recommend to start walking.. I will share your video!
I started walking in October of 2023 and have only missed three days since. I could barely walk now I'm doing three to four miles a day. If I can do it anyone can. I gave up sugar and started a strict Mediterranean diet my health is awesome now.
I’m joining too.
Hi Jessica,
Good motivational talk. Much love to join you, but I am in Bangalore, India. I walk/jog/run/sprint since I had a stent inserted a year ago. I will be 70 in 2023. This is my record on 16 April, on one meal a day, time taken 7hrs 40min without any I’ll effects, attached my figures.

I ended up losing over 60 lb just by walking 30 to 40 minutes every day 😊
❤❤❤i lost 20 lbs just by walking outside and walking/ brisk walking on my treadmill
I love walking since 2019 I've walked alot, but I just recently started tracking distances on March 6th (since March 6 I've accumulated 2,306,642 steps and 1,185 miles) just the other day I did a 100,000 step 51 mile walk
I stayed at a consistent 106 steps a minute the whole 15hr and 35 min
I only did this because someone said I couldn't do it
Hey Jessica, can you do more postpartum videos for specific parts of your body? I feel like other videos on CZcams are too intense and I don't want to overdo it, and I love your full body video. Thanks!
2 years ago I came across a video saying your speed of natural walk equals to your brain health and demenia. The video was within an elderly caregiving channel
10k steps means 90 minute with a average speed of 4.8 km/h
But I do at minimum 20 miles every day of the year, upwards of 40+
Walking also slows down aging
It’s free as well!
I quit drinking Christmas Day 2023. I have been walking 3 miles a day and I feel better than ever
We’ll done! I quit around that time too! Love walking and exercising instead. Here’s to feeling good and taking care of our bodies!! 🎉
7000 steps is about 75-90 minutes for me
Agree. 7K steps in a half an hour is bullshit. For me, a mile is about 2K steps. A mile takes 15:30. That’s about an hour.
I love walking.. Yet, here in Philly when someone crosses my path while they see me walking is so annoying..
❤❤❤
I do pilates reformer almost every day, 6-7 times a week. I love it. When studios (and schools) were closed because of the virus I started walking outside. My daughter had to report to her PE teacher she was doing at least 30 minutes of activity so we walked together for 30 minutes. To be honest I’ve never felt any benefits while walking daily, and that’s why I don’t do it. Not even when walking outside. We have a dog, I’m rarely the one to take her out on walks. When I walk her it’s merely because no else can that particular day and I know it’s important for her. But I don’t feel any benefit whatsoever, so I don’t stick to it. I wish I did.
Your physiology is exactly the same as everybody else's so you'll be getting exactly the same benefits as they do when they walk, irrespective of whether you feel such benefits or not.
Most of us know the benefits of walking but we are not disciplined enough to actually keep the walking routine. I started a challenge on my CZcams channel to walk for at least 3 times of 30 minutes each week. I will make a promise to upload the walk videos on my channel. This example will encourage anyone to walk with me. Let us go.
Walking is great. Frees the mind , you absorb some infrared rays and vitamin D and move. I will also say that sprinting is very beneficial as well and will reduce visceral fat. Walking is easier of course and more peaceful and you wont pull a muscle. I would choose walking and then sprinting but not jogging esp.long distances. The long distances will wear you down. Sprinting is quick. I walk and then do quick sprints...then walk etc. Look up Dr Sean O'Mara on sprinting. He is the visceral fat MRI guy.
Barefoot walking (77 days 30-45 mins.) Grounding/Earthing great benefits!
Where do you all walk? I need some suggestions.😊
I am 68, walk about 12-14 KM every day. Sleep like a log without pill.
I like to walk for 6 miles, but I do not track step numbers. I also do about 50 pullups, 100 pushups, 100 squats, and some stretching. 70 years of age. Do not use regular drugs or any alcohol. Only eat meat and cruciferous vegetables. Be well. Enjoy your life. After your death you will live again In another body. Yes, reincarnation is a fact. Starts when you inhabit a conceived body. Remember, you are an eternal spirit. You do not have to "travel" from your dead body to your next body. It is as automatic as breathing.

I started to walk 10000 steps per day.
I don't believe people who say that they walk 10 km and more and lose weight. When I walk such a distance I lose control over my appetite. Normally it's enough walk 7-8 km a day to lose weight gradually.
I love walking but i dont want to lose weight
Dad. Walking is good , for mood as well, I love to walk. 10:01
I walk 4 miles a day and I eat tons of Maple syrup at 62 I'm healthy as a horse
Why do you eat tons of maple syrup? Honestly curious.
Walking is a super power.
1hr walk a day for 1yr is -36lbs of fat
Roughly
Is that what you lost in a year?
@@swhiting100 no. That’s just what the math equals
I walk 2 miles in 30 minutes fast pace.
7000 steps is closer to an hours walk. Just saying.
Great job CZcams algorithm. As a quadriplegic I really didn’t need to see this.
Have you seen Joni Eareckson Tada? Very inspirational lady.
i do 15000 steps a day. thats 1 hour in one direction, than pause for 15 minutes, than reverse another 60 minutes. 60 minutes equals 3600 seconds, that means in 3600 seconds i pass, 1.5 meter per second, or 2 steps per one second. thats 7200 steps in one direction. with regard to the calories, thats 0.04 calories per one step, or 40 calories per 1000 steps or, 600 calories per 15000 steps. in 7 days you could loose up to 2 kilograms of weight. plus, never eat after the walking, never, the metabolism kicks in and it cuts off hundreds of grams of fat.
I do 12k a day....
Me too. Minimum, plus a separate structured workout.
Your beautiful ❤
No way I could run 5000 steps in 3pmin Lil
Walking is great but does not build muscles in arms
WALKING 7000 steps in 30 minutes? I don't think so, that's called jogging. 👎
Exactly. I walk fast and it is certainly not 7000 steps in 30 minutes lol!
