Arguebly the greatest guitar player ever, the pride of Texas.
He was amazing may he Rest In Peace
How is he the greatest ever, he’s great , but.
Greatest ever is very subjective but he definitely one of top 3 favorites!
Pride of Texas - ❤️ SRV
Pride of Texas - ❤️ SRV
Damn helicopters, damn pilot error, damn ski mountains, damn rain, damn fog! SRV RIP
May he Rest In Peace
I remember the day he died, I had come home from the hospital after my 12 hour shift. I took a shower put on my pjs and turned on the radio, I fell asleep on the couch and was awakened from a dead sleep by the news. I sat bolt upright and I screamed "what the hell!!!!" The announcer repeated himself and I knew I wasn't having a nightmare. I also knew music would never be the same and we lost a true guitar God. I still mourn his loss and I am thankful for his contribution to music daily. RIP SRV.
@@knightnurse432 I am thankful for technology that allows us to see him play in his prime. I also listen to him everyday. RIP, SRV.
RIP Kobe, too. That's already 2 too many greats.
SRV makes me hate aviation
Jimi's lyrics: "If I don't see you no more in this world, see you in the next one and don't be late." R.I.P. Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan
This is a Jimi Hendrix cover, but nobody covered Jimi the way SRV did 🔥. RIP Stevie
Oh ok didn’t know that thanks for the information
I want to think that Jimi would have swayed and smiled upon witnessing this.
Zappa knew Jimi pretty well and described him as an open, kind and exuberant person.
RIP - Jimmy Hendrix and SRV 🙏🏼.
SRV was the only one who could cover Hendrix and that is a fact!!!
Also check out Randy Hanson. Seen him in concert. He does the best Hendrix cover songs.
Welcome to the Stevie Rabbit Hole, you won’t regret it! Texas Flood Live at El Macambo. Hope you’re ready for it!
More to come Forsure he is so talented
@@dubzer0649 Your jaw will drop but I can't say why.
@@dubzer0649
*WAS so talented… 😔
I'm hip
FYI: Stevie dropped out if high school at 17 and wound up in Austin. After playing there for a few months, his hero, Albert King, came to do some shows at a local club. On his break, club manager comes up and asks Albert if this talented kid, Stevie, could sit in a few songs. Albert's kind of gruff and told the manager to get lost. 2nd nights show, the manager asks him again if Stevie could sit in. Albert said ok, sure that this kid would end up embarrassing himself. So little Stevie (who never got taller than 5'5" and probably weighed 130 soaking wet) hopped up on the stage beside 6'5" Albert. And starts playing Albert's signature licks better than Albert could. Albert starts grinning and from that point on, Stevie was "Little Stevie" to Albert. Years later, when a producer approached Albert about doing a musical tv gig with the hot new artist Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert was like, "Who?". Eventually, the producer reminded Albert of that show where he met "Little Stevie". Albert didn't like many people, but he loved Stevie, often referred to him as his stepchild.
If you're interested in seeing Albert & Stevie play together, it's on CZcams, called In Session, if you ever have 1 1/2 hours to listen to some great blues music.
Wow thanks for the brief history I appreciate it love learning about this artist and everyone’s take on it
Thanks for watching this one and I’ll check it out when I have sometime or maybe live one day with you guys
Interesting side note. Session with Albert King and SRV was filmed in my hometown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I wish I had been there.
“Texas Flood” live at El Mocambo!
“Little Wing” live at El Mocambo!!
Both life changing!!!
Thanks I’m going to def check those out
Appreciate you
Those are absolutely a great starting place for SRV.
@@dubzer0649 Don't forget "Lenny" from el mocambo. The one song you will never hear a correct cover of! Insane skills.
@@factsonly5994 first time seeing SRV he was warm up band for the "Moody Blues" and I don't think many people knew who he was. About the end of his set, he sat down on the edge of the stage & played "Lenny". Just him. My most special memory of seeing the Man! Saw him 3 times before the Lord called him to play in His band(imagine listening to Jimi & Stevie goin' back & forth on Voodoo Chile'!).
The greatest guitarist of all time. Stevie was so ridiculously smooth. Gone too soon.
Yes so talented goat 🐐 status may he RIP
Imagine Hendrix wrote that song back in the 60's. Nobody ever heard anything like that back then. Stevie just is unbelievable too.
Such a pity the two never got a chance to meet. Can you imagine!?
SRV... 31 years gone (DAMN)... still not forgotten. RIP Stevie.
Goat 🐐
SRV ~ 🎸🐐
Do yourself a favor:
1) Life Without You at Capitol Theater
2) Texas Flood at El Macambo
3) Voodoo Child at Starwood Theater in Nashville
Ok I’ll def check these out thanks for the suggestions
Yes! He never did the song the same way more than one time. You will love the Nashville Voodoo Child
Forsure
Welcome to the wonderful world of Stevie Ray Vaughan this rabbit hole is a great one to go down he has so many great videos to check out if you really like this one you should check out Texas Flood live at El Macombo or Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland or his guitar sound check where he is wearing a leopard coat. Like I said there is so many great videos to check out . Sadly we lost him in August of 1990 at the age of 35 in a helicopter crash.
Thanks for the welcome I’ll def be doing more of him I was feeling this for real
For me SRV is the most gifted guitarist Ive ever witnessed. He had just cleaned up his life when he died, very sad.
Ye she is a legend Forsure so sad how he passed
Has any one noticed? When he plays acoustic? Mr Stevie is a lefty. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
In my opinion there has never been another blues guitarist that even comes close to how good Stevie was. He was leagues above the rest.
Very privileged to have seen him live in 1981 or 1982. Amazing performer. Played behind his head. Switched guitars mid song (broke a string) never missed a beat. Still stays with me all these years later. G.O.A.T. IMO
Eileen, SRV was my husband's favorite artist so when he started his tour to promote his 2nd album we made sure to get tickets for his local concert (The Wax Museum--1000 seat venue) in DC. He was amazing. So glad we went.
What’s even more amazing is that Stevie was self taught on the guitar. Never took a lesson! Amazing
Yes that makes it even more amazing no lie
the only man I've ever seen who could make a guitar legitimately sound like its crying
He was a legend may he Rest In Peace
Respectfully, try BB King The Thrill is Gone. Different style of music. But BB could make it cry too
Next you need to check out Texas Flood live. Stevie Ray was another great artist we lost too young.
Glad you met, Stevie. Nobody like him. I discovered him in the 80's. I remember when he died. I cried. Such a loss. Other guitar players revered him. So many said it was like the music flowed through him. Yes, good description. He was a good soul too.
Friend of mine was his on-call cabbie in Austin back in the wayback. Said he was a really nice dude.
I love watchin' people discover SRV! One of the all time best.
Yes he is pretty amazing
Who is this guy? Only the greatest guitarist to ever strap a Fender over his shoulder! There's a reason every great blues artist of the day wanted to collaborate with him. Pure brilliance!
He is def a legend
Side note: the "wah-wah" pedal Stevie used in this performance, one that he extensively on stage, once belonged to another guitar god, who also used it on stage, and that artist was none other than Jimi Hendrix...true story ✌🏻
Oh ok thanks for the information didn’t know that
He actually used two wahs.
We always thought it was no big deal that he played here in Austin constantly. We got used to this legend doing legendary things, and then he was taken from us. It’s sweet to see so many of y’all young people recognizing that he was definitely touched by genius. GOAT 🐐
He is a def goat 🐐
It must have been past lives debts of SRV for his leaving us so soon! His Spirit lives in us all! The best guitarist ever without a doubt, you are missed STEVIE!!! 🎶❣️RIP
I saw Jimi Hendrix play this song 1968 in Tampa. I was just a pre teen at the time. My parents let us go with my best friend’s older brothers. What an experience! One I would never forget!😎
This may sound crazy but my favorite part is before he starts the song, he raked his pick across those big strings, to check the sound. His guitar playing had so much guts because of the strings and the way he played.
The hardest thing for us SRV fans to do is WAIT for you to watch the greatness that is Stevie Ray Vaughan. I know you have to react to other stuff, but as an SRV fan and knowing his stuff that’s out there for you to watch for the first time is testing our patience. He has so many awe inspiring videos and performances that it’s really hard to suggest JUST ONE. I’ll put up one that not many will put up as a next. Please check out “Mary Had A Little Lamb live in Austin, Texas” you will not be disappointed. Get ready for more mouth dropping stuff.
I got a video dropping today of Stevie so stay tuned. It was blocked so I had to wait
Pure depth of passion heart & soul unfathomable..
He spoke through his guitar pouring it all out
but his vocals also come from the same place deep within.
Love you brother Stevie, our Spirits alive eternal God knows..
He is amazing may he Rest In Peace
You probably just witnessed the best guitarist(GOAT) playing a guitar! when you heard the phrase ''music flowing out your body''. Think of SRV because he can't stop until his body gets out every once of energy it can. That's why he played with his eyes closed 90%-95% of the time! He didn't have to look at what he was doing , he played by the vibe within his body!
Yes he is legit no lie straight talent
2 words...KEEP GOING!! Texas Flood!
Thanks I def will loving this journey so far
@@dubzer0649 it's like the man came out the wimb with a guitar! He was unable to read music! Gone way too soon!
Who is he....only the greatest blues guitarist of all time, and I mean all time. That is who he is. May he RIP! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He is amazing can’t lie
No doubt bout it what a gift to the blues and we loved him for it and then he was gone just like that very depressing rip Stevie rest in peace
I almost wish I were you, getting to experience this amazing man for the first time. But then I'm so damn happy I've had so many hours of listening to him. Love, love, love him!!
Yea he is one of a kind
Respectfully ... What rock have you been living under??? Perhaps the greatest guitarist that has ever lived!! Stevie Ray Vaughn ... Truly a legend that left us WAY to early!!! R.I.P. Stevie!! I know heaven has never been the same since Stevie arrived!!!
Haha idk I was a hard core rap fan until about a month ago when I heard my first rock song and did a reaction now I’m hooked lol 😂
Yah I was just mess'n with ya!! Great reaction video my friend!! Keep up the great work & react on any Stevie Ray Vaughn song & you can't go wrong!!
Thanks I appreciate you being here
Nah 'Bro ... Keep up the great work & you will have a legion of FANS!! Bravo!! My friend!!
Stevie Ray IS the GOAT!! RIP Stevie Ray. It's awesome watching you react to what I know is coming.
Def the goat 🐐
I Love Me some Stevie Ray...him and his brother Jimmy Vaughn grew up here in Texas...my husband's dad played guitar with the two boys and when Stevie passed away I was fortunate to have had the opportunity (even though unfortunately as well since he was and still an awesome artist) to attend his funeral. He has spool many songs you would Love to hear. He always looked like he was in pain while playing... LOL.
Wow that’s really cool that you and your family knew him. I just discovered him but I can tell he was a legend Forsure
The so for watching and commenting
It's not even the fact that he played as well as he did, it was more about the feeling he put into it. He could make everyone feel what he was feeling. He is one of the most prolific guitarist of all time. Also the Guage of the strings he used was very different from all others.
Yea he is just talented
Stevie Ray loved Jimi Hendrix. This is his homage to him. He asked Jimi’s dad for permission to cover the song. He didn’t have to but out if respect he did. My husband and I were lucky to see him three different times in concert. He was amazing.
Nobody could bend 13 gauge strings like Stevie Ray Vaughan could . After this you should check out Jeff Healey & his songs As The Years Go Passing By , Angel Eyes & his best song Lost In Your Eyes . Keep in mind that when you watch Jeff Healey . When Jeff Healey was 8 months old , he lost his eyesight to cancer .
SRV was the best guitar player that ever lived on the face of the Earth. And I've listened to them all.
Goat 🐐
I love SRV
A must listen is to SRV playing "Texas Flood" live at the El MaCombo. You MUST listen to this!
I’ve reacted to it, it’s in my video history and I linked it at the end of the video
You've got to watch and hear more on Stevie Ray Vaughn!! You should watch Texas Flood and baby you won't be disappointed!!! Also there's a vid of him doing his Sound check before a gig and it is awesome!!! He's from Dallas Tx and is a Legend here! The GOAT!! Died in a helicopter crash after a big gig with other greats at 35 yrs.old. Gone too soon!! Ms B in Dallas.
I’ll def be doing more stay tuned
...fingers so strong SRV could shatter walnuts with a pinch. Speed, feel, endless and instantaneous chord progressions. A melody master with no look perfection. Hammer-ons with sustain so long he used them as rhythm so that he could freestyle a riff lead within the sustain by switching the pick-ups mid chord. Otherworldly talent with an uncanny ability to rarely play the song's the same way twice. Challenging himself to reach high-quality performance for his audiences. He never just phoned it in. Hardest worker. Hardest parties in his younger day's. He got clean towards the end of his life. ❤️. Great reaction young man.
Yes, Stevie would take you on a ride on all his songs.
He really does take you for a ride
Magic man SRV. Glad you got to hear and see the greatest rock/blues guitarist that ever lived---no exaggeration
Yea srv is legit def goat status 🐐
Dub: "Full disclosure: I don't even know who Stevie Ray is" Me: "You're about to find out!"
Haha 😂 facts
The competition for "Greatest guitarist" is fierce. SRV has my vote.
Yes he is one of a kind
absolute mastery- we've really never seen anything like it...except perhaps the source material.
Man this guy is amazing no denying that
I love watching people fall in love with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble! Simply the best of the best! Check out Little Sister from this same concert! Watch the master at work and not miss a beat.
Yea he is one of a kind def, I’ll def watch the others
I bet this was a great experience for you. SRV gives you his soul and gives you the chills when he touches yours through the airwaves. ✌
SRV one of the best guitarists ever. He died very tragically. Hope he got more fans now through this.
I’m. Def a fan and yea so sad how he passed away
One of the world's most valuable guitars! What a treasure Stevie Ray Vaughan is!
Man he is amazing got more of him coming
You've just watched the best Bluesman in the history of Bluesmen... He is THE G.O.A.T. 💜 💜 🎶🎶💜💜🎶🎶💜💜🎶🎶💜💜

I feel that
SRV - one of the best guitarists to ever walk the earth. No argument.
Goat status 🐐
So nice to see the younger generation meet the GOAT.
Try Texas Flood. You'll say. "Jesus."
Will do, and hey can’t deny that talent he’s a real one
stevie didn't just play the guitar it was part of his body and soul....the G.O.A.T.
Facts
SRV has mad skills. He's smooth as silk and fast as lightening. Thanks for video, it's a great one.!!!
Yes he is a legend Forsure I can tell
I haven’t seen anyone suggest “Pride and Joy”, another great song. He sings a lot in it but it shows another side of the great one.
Ok I’ll check it out
BBKing took Stevie under his wing. Taught him good. Stevie lost his life leaving Wisconsin going to Chicago in a plane crash...I didnt have the Pleasure of seeing him. I was pregnant . But took my mom's to see Bb King. I will never forget that concert. Awesome and such a wonderful man. Ranks up there with Miss Etta James Peace Out my lovely's
Jimmy Page guitarist for Led Zeppelin said that he is the GOAT! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Don’t forget to give it up for Double Trouble...one of the all time great rhythm sections! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Muddy Waters said he thought he'd never live to see the day when the greatest blues player of all time would be a white boy from Texas lol. The man is the GOAT for sure
Man you have to see when Jimi Hendrix did this song originally back in the 1960's over in Europe! It's in black and white and was live. Greatest of all time!
My Favorite of ALL time May he Rest In Peace
Love srv too
Jimi Man was the First to do this.
Both are awesome
That cat was heavy handed! I have read that he always kept Super Glue with him on stage because he had a tendency to either split his fingernails down the middle or rip them off all together. He would glue it back on/together and finish the show. If you have ever even partially pulled your nail off the nail bed you know it totally sucks ass! He was a better man than me. Cheers!
Ouch sound painful 😖
Srv was def the Goat 🐐
What’s your top 5 guitarist?
Life Without You is beautiful and written for his friend Charley Wirz who died of a heart attack and helped him design his guitars. The guitar he uses in that song is named Charley because they worked on it together
Wow didn’t know that
@@dubzer0649 It's a really beautiful song
SRV and his Strat were one. I've watched these performances a hundred times and still I get slackjawed. Check out TEXAS FLOOD LIVE. You will be converted for life.
He da GOAT bro. Da Cat in da Hat wit da STRAT.
Def got more coming, possible today
When Stevie played the guitar, he left it all on the field.
If you truly don't know who Stevie Ray was you are in for a treat thus man was truly one of if not the best gutair players ever
I regret to this day not going to watch the master when he played in the town where I used to live.
I saw Jimi do this in 1968 in Boston .... Stevie picked right up where Jimi left off ..... God rest their souls
Those thirteen gauge strings are like playing aircraft cables. The man must have had incredibly strong hands.
Yes 🙌 he is amazing
He did a concert in Memphis in May many years ago and he played until he shredded the skin off of his fingers and he took super glue n glued the skin back on n played another set. R.I.P. my brother.
One of the best blues guitarist of his time.
So talented may he RIP
Stevie Ray was making love to that guitar! Just ravishing the hell out of it! Whew! I need a cigarette and I don't even smoke! 😂😂😂
lol 😂 he was killing it
Great reaction! I love that you put the focus on the video instead of yourself, thank you for doing that.
Imagine what he had in store for us had he not died so young. a musical dark day.
I could only imagine
Saw him live in the 80's, went from Texas Flood to Little Wing to All Along The Watchtower seamlessly!
He covered Jimmi Hendrix better than anyone in history!
Welcome to Texas Blues Rock!
Man that must of been cool to see live
Check out Gary Moore's version of Voodoo Child! It has more of a rock edge sound. It's also very good! Stevie Ray and Gary Moore are jamming in heaven right now. RIP Stevie Ray and Gary Moore. Gone but not forgotten. Their music will live on forever.
Ok I’ll def check it out thanks
First thanks for the great screen you have 👍SRV is a legend 👏all guitarist wanted to play like him there is none better .
Although this is a cover of another legend Jimmy Hendrix.
No problem I’m glad you

Ja, SRV was quite exceptional at playing Rock/Blues & Blues genre music. I've wondered
if he had not most often inhibited himself to only das limited compositions/playing techniques
of Blues music that possibly he could have become 1 of das 100s of Master Guitarists
around das world. Many surely miss SRV. Auf Wiedersehen :-)
it is so fun watching these hip hop guys going oohhhh!!!in the very first note of these blues cats!!!!!!!
The most mesmerizing guitar player I have ever seen.
Goat 🐐
Thanks for watching
SRV widely acknowledged as one of the greatest electric guitarists ever. Picked up the Hendrix torch and carried further down the path of greatness. Died in a small plane crash back in 1990...hard to believe 'cause his music still sounds so powerful and alive.
if you can take your attention away from stevie's jawdropping playing. Listen to the unbelievable drumming
Ok I’ll check the drummer out
Guitarists: God sent me here to play
Stevie Ray Vaughan: no I didn't
1 thing Reactors should automatically
understand, especially if u r under, say, 40 yrs old- -
Almost everyone here ALREADY knows the LEGENDS u've never hesrd of or seen; these legends u don't know, the world, in general, has long embraced their particular greatness!
Thank you for the lack of arrogance and for your respect. I am glad you're awed,
because he deserves it!
Rockin' on.
Back in the 80's I had a chance to see him live and passed it up. I remembered saying I'll see him the next time around. That was a huge mistake!
Ahhhh man that sucks, where would it have been at?
"Texas Flood" LIVE! any of them are AMAZING! but yes, Live at El Mocambo is AWESOME!
SRV such a power Oh My, power AND the best guitar player ever!!!
When he bends down people think he dropped his pick. He didn’t, he’s adjusting his pedal. His pick is palmed in his gigantic hands.
He is a beast no lie
F***king legend. Thank God for recording technology.
Yes may he RIP
Yeah, that's the version that I first saw of SRV, completely blew me away. Always been a fan of live musicians that can play in the moment. He was the GOAT.
