The Rabbit-Phobia & Sleepwalking Episode | Father Ted S2 E6 | Absolute Jokes

- The rabbit-phobic bishop is due for a visit, but the parish house is overrun with the animals; Father Jack has a sleepwalking problem.
Beloved sitcom focused on three priests living on Craggy Island, a remote island off the west coast of Ireland. Father Ted Crilly is sent to the island as punishment for using charitable funds for a holiday in Las Vegas, but his true punishment comes in the form of Father Dougal Maguire and Jack Hackett, one a fresh-faced naive young priest, and the other a foul-mouthed, rage-filled alcoholic. Mrs Doyle is their nosy housekeeper, who makes plentiful pots of tea and never takes `no' for an answer. Despite their isolation, the priests get into their fair share of mildly sinful, entirely madcap adventures.

"I won't be able to relax until the only rabbit left is the one sitting in your head working the controls"
Funniest joke ever
Gotta love that Brennan can go from threatening to rip off someone's arms to quivering in fear of rabbits nibbling at his cape.
"Great, Flipper! Flipper the Priest". "YES!?"
‘You little bollocks’ 😂
"But there's no toilet in here!" My favorite part of the whole episode x'D
Me too 😊
hahahahaha yes yes hahahahah
I haven't laughed so hard in years^^
I burst out uncontrollably to that.. Hahaha
I think father jack wants a drink.
DRINK! DRINK!
Maybe we will give him water.
WATER? FECK!
DRANK !
Father Ben is pure genius. Mocking the sitcom itself.
Graham Lineham did a similar metajoke in Black Books. "Blue Tunes".
Mocking the sitcom that mocks sitcoms.
@Spencer Proctor Father Len
Which sitcom would that be now?
@@Satellite_Of_Love * _BISHOP_ Len...
"thats just where we grow the lettuce."
his voice is simply enthralling when he wants to make viewers laugh i.e. all the time.
Poor Father Larry Duff, he's such good fun.
The Kenny McCormick of Craggy Island
"Just a bad dream, Your Grace. Over in a mo'."
A masterpiece from start to finish. Every line is golden and delivered to perfection. The timing, the visual comedy, everything… bit of an overused expression but they *really* don’t make comedy this good anymore. The ending is one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever seen in anything.
Trouble with this episode is that it’s probably the best Father Ted episode and the one I want to show people when I want to introduce them to Father Ted...but it also begins with a meta joke that you only get if you’re familiar with the show.
Actually, the bet one to get 'em started is Kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse.
@@newstarcadefan Yes and no. Very characteristic of the show's humor and the second act is some of the funniest TV ever recorded, but it's also the second part of a two-parter and banks on you knowing about Bishop Brennan. By that margin, just starting with the three Bishop Brennan episodes in order (maybe with Escape from Victory in the middle to add context to KBBUTA) might be the way to go.
(I will say, the episode my family's probably re-watched the most besides The Plague is Tentacles of Doom, and that's a pretty good introductory episode. The first one I watched was A Song for Europe, but that's because I'm a Eurovision fan and was curious, and that led me down the wonderful - pardon the term - rabbit hole that is Father Ted.)
I'd start with "The Passion of St. Tibilus" if you don't want to start with the first. Introduces Bishop Gobshite- er, Brennan, and gives a brief history of why the three priests came to Craggy Island. It's feckin' hilarious.
@@Satellite_Of_Love That is a good one
RIP to all the rabbits that starred in this episode.
They might still be alive.
Agreed
@@a.tanner8524 not if Tom has finally caught up with them
"...but there is no toilet in here."
I think either this episode or Kicking Bishop Brennan Up The Arse is my favorite.
yeah agreed. i cant believe that he kicked bishop brennen up the arse. i mean he didn't just sorta half do it - he got right in there - right up the arse. kicked him right in the arse he did. ..maybe he didnt do it? i mean its the most unlikely thing to happen. he'd be crazy to just kick him right up the arse
@@pepe6666 Why would he do that? He thinks Bishop Brennan is great.
@@RenegadeShepTheSpacer heh, you're right. this is all just a wee bit silly. i'm sure he just imagined it.
@@pepe6666 He deserves a holiday.
@@RenegadeShepTheSpacer where would ya like the mural?
Makes me wonder what the father Ben equivalent of father jack looks like
The look on Bishop Brennan's face at 22:58 is priceless.
"You little bollocks!"
Bloody, fecking hilarious.
Really appreciate the fact that Ted pronounced Rottweilers correctly. :D
Does anyone say it differently? I don't think I've heard any other way to say it
His Hiroshima is way off though.
So, anyone else see that there's a set of Father Ted stamps being released in Ireland?
"You know that phrase 'to take care of something', i see now that you were thinking in an Al Pacino kinda way, where i was thinking Julie Andrews."
Great stuff for bedtime!
They got me there when they broke the fourth wall lol
"...I won't be able to rest until the only rabbit left..." LOL
Did he call me len again? But there is no toilet here,,,,,I died
Very "fawlty tower", this one. Love it.
Yes even the up top of the stairs , very much the same. possibly the same set used
Yes, it looks like the same set.
Is hamster
@@A_Really_Nice_Guy - I thought the same, but I checked. It has the same peculiarity of a stairs that goes up to a landing for no apparent structural reason, and then down. It works better in Fawlty Towers because boarding houses are full of odd structures where two or more houses are run together, but not so well in Father Ted, where it's a single house. I expect it is done to accommodate the illusion of a stairs to a lower floor when the set is actually at ground level.
I think I saw the wall that had a bit of game pie on it.
this show was fucking comedy gold
I sometimes want to show this to my little sister because of the bunnies. She'd certainly like seeing the bunnies.
this episode is a work of art
did he call me Len AGAIN?! 😂
22:11 Before Paranormal Activity there was Father Ted 😂😂😂😂😂😂 22:44 what a horrible nightmare 🤣🤣🤣
Lol I thought the same!
pity we never got an episode where Ted & Dougal had to exorcise an allegedly-haunted house or something of that nature
@@quelltech Yes that would have been quality stuff.
@@quelltech a Halloween 🎃 episode would have been awesome 😎 and hilarious 😂
Those rabbits were breeding like tribbles! 🖖
I've said this before but Father Jack always reminds me of my late grandfather. He was of Scottish extraction and didn't drink because it cost money and he was completely irreligious but it's like watching him on the telly.
Flipper the priest.
"YES?!"
First episode of Fr. Jack I ever saw, and I was hooked. We've gone for tea at the Parochial House, shot a vid of my wife and I singing 'My Lovely Horse' at the gate of the Parochial House, and have gone by there every year for the last 5 years. Not this year, though. This is just around the time we usually go to Ireland, and we're sad we won't get there this year. Think I'll go have some Jameson's.
father ted.
must be the idol from S1E3 that caused the rabbits to be fertile and multiply
“Tom knows about this type of thing”.
Call him Flipper. Flipper the priest.
. . . Yes?
Father Ted - Fawlty Towers and Keeping Up Appearances all brilliant-funny-first rate acting. In case any of you have missed them worth a look.
for me growing up, my childhood english sitcoms were Blackadder, Father Ted and Black Books.
Waiting For God is another sitcom that I can't recommend enough.
i love Bishop Brennan, my absolute favourite character in this show.
"Yet again, I've been dragged away from my warm fireside to deal with the cast of Police Academy" is my favorite Brennan line from this episode.
Same!!!
he's grand, isn't he?
Rest in peace Dermot Morgan....
RIP Frank Kelly
7:00 Len can be very scary when... when... whenAAAAARRRRGGGHH!
I LOVE that reaction!😄 Dougal's "Rabbits? Where?" cracks me up as well!
Probably my favourite Father Ted episode
My third favorite. My favorite is "Cigarettes And Alcohol and Rollerblading" and second is "The Passion Of Saint Tibilus"
How on earth can this get 61 dislikes? It's one of the funniest episodes I've seen.
Because of some of our stonch Catholics are still offended by this show.
So this is why they removed the dislike button
@@martinbrady7861Is the priests telephone number YET STILL ET CUM SPIRITU TUO post Vatican II?
lol the first few seconds I thought I clicked on the wrong video
Tom, Jr's killer, should have had a larger part in the series...he isn't more insane than the rest of the lot...
He absolutely should have
I want to live on Craggy Island.
I think heaven is chatting all night with fr Ted and Fr Duggal
@@uncatila The actor who played Duogal is still alive though?
I've never seen this one before. What a joy!
This is one of those shows that I wish would have gone on indefinitely.
Watching 'Pulp Fiction' again, and just realised that Thom's scene with the rabbit destroying weapon choice is directly from this movie! 🤣
3:14 i lost it here 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just a Bad Dream LEN.
I love the bunnies
NUDIE FATHER JACK!
........RATS!
The Harvey Keitel bit broke me
this is the best episode so far in father Ted, I laugh so hard there is tears coming out of my eye.
Any episode with Bishop Brennan is a comedy masterpiece I love them hahah
Father Ted and water ship down crossover
Travis Walsh Mrs Doyle omg
Sort of, but I think the Watership Down element would have come out a lot more if those poor bunnies had been forced to stay with crazy Tom.
How are all those bunnies so chill on set?
I really love this show.
Saying "feck" to Bishop Brennan is a definite no-no.
I'm guessing that it's like saying the F word but the U is replaced by an E
the "caviar" hahahahahaha
Father Jack a Furry...please for the love of God someone draw a alcoholic rabbit priest! 😆
Tom is cracked in the head😂
You know, the whole rabbit - tennis thing....
If you're an aging rabbit fan, you'll eventually hit 30, love.
Hello Ted, how is it hangin?
"Fair play to ye, the whole bishop thing...I mean, who'd've thought somebody from Limerick would get this far?"
Honestly I get so sad when Father Jack is about to let it out haha. He obviously has things to share, but then they railroad him.
Coronarabbits!
I see you're stranded here too. I'm glad I finally started watching this show amidst the pandemonium.
ineedaforestfire Father Ted keeps me laughing through the Apocalypse!
Thanks so much for posting!
I once made a toilet mistake on my duvet due to this show. A relaxing convalesce for a broken ankle but sufferers of loose or brutalized bowels, beware!
What a pythonesque episode!!!!! Rabbits
You know if they could fit all the rabbits in a car to bring them to the race track and Tom...couldn't they just leave the rabbits locked in the car?
Great episode. So funny!
But there is no toilet in here...run dougal fast quite fast...you expect me to get down on my hands and knees and eat off the floor, what do you think I am, a pony?
Paul is so fun.
Ring the bell at the end.
Hahaha
🛎
Now I want a rabbit
My favourite it’s the Father Ted Watership Down crossover episode
everything is improved with rabbits.
When Tom started smashing glass all I could think of was "KILL THE WABBIT, KILL THE WABBIT!"
Especially pie.
Happiness sound
*DRINK DRINK*
At 23:25 under the credits - bunnyhumping :-O
Where are you going to put the rabbits Tom?
In the vice Father
One of my favourites episodes

"Oh, feck!"
10:23 Flying rabbit.
Jim Norton at his best!
Excellent
Mrs. Doyle is the best.
She is great in this.
22:51 I think the rabbit in Dougals left hand is dead
I'm watching all episodes
So am I. They are brilliant.
Love this series❤
