- The burning question.. NO I am not part of the mile high club🤣
Hey guys! I hope you all loved my Cabin Crew Q&A!✈️ I do get a lot of various questions daily on the subject of cabin crew, so I thought it was perfect to make a CZcams video solely about my experience as a British Airways Air Hostess!
Overall, I absolutely loved working for BA as Cabin Crew, but as always, there is always some negatives to bare in mind! There is no denying though, that it was a once in a lifetime experience, which holds memories for life🤍

It's iconic how everyone working in airlines are nice, polite and respectful to each other than people working in office
Pilots aren’t that nice
@@rishigembali6066 I'm talking about flight attendants

@@toxicspikes8394 they are hot tho so who cares 😂

I love the sit down chatty videos !! very cool job , I love travelling aswell xx
Bless you, this was so nostalgic! I was Gatwick crew as well. I used to hate briefings 🤣 but when they changed it to a group discussion it was like a huge weight lifted off our shoulders, although sometimes you’d get a cm who asked you questions 🙈. Gatwick was amazing though, like a little family xxx
The mile high club bit made me laugh, I would rather rip my eyes out than do anything in those toilets 🤣🙈 xx
Love this so much. As an ex cabin crew myself, I can honestly say this was sooo accurate & honest.
That what I loved that got an insight into a career that I hadn't thought about before. Live for how honest Lucida was bringing the benefits and the negatives alongside the reality of being part of cabin crew! 💜
Honestly the turbulence part is so true , I would be so scared before and then you realise the plane is able to withstand SO much after 1000 x flights 🤣
Regardless best year of my life as I can never revisit the cockpit again and once you get the flying bug, it will never leave you 💕
Heyy Lucinda xx I love your channel so much keep up the good work you inspire me so much 💗💗

@@charleskristiansson1296 That's true, but I don't think many jobs are what they once were, they certainly haven't skimped with the recruitment procedure, very stringent six week training course so this is the last week, we,ll pop down to London and see her get her wings.

I appreciate cabin crew! I flew with jet 2 honestly they were AMAZING! Considering it was my first flight to! She kept coming back to see if I was ok as I suffer with panic attacks and anxiety. She said she gave me a vodka and then come back within 10 minutes and i was asleep🤣 funny.
I salute them honestly. They risk their lives to save others and they’re so lovely. ❤️

Seems like a bit of a rip off considering how brutal the selection process is. Money can be made soo much easier in this day and age.
I think it's a shame BA did away with the CSD. There seemed to be the idea that the CSD sat around during the flight, doing random nothing. So not the case!
Hey hun please do a house tour love your vids 💕

Omg sounds amazing
we neeeeed a room tour
My daughter is an air hostess for BA she loves it...

Brilliant what a great witty comment; so true! 🧡
I remember lady cabin crew working for B.A where very hands on in business class.
you can sit down when departing and arriving airport what more do you want.
omg i so needed this thank you so much
Is it true you get allowances for like make up and have to be able to do your makeup properly? 😊 (lovee your makeup btw!) xx
Hey Lucinda, do they require you to swim as part of the training or not?
Do you think you’ll ever go back to cabin crew? 💕
She answered that question towards the end of the video. She said no btw
What size did you get your hoodie! I love 💖
Might be a silly question but when you do a “6 day” or “3 day” etc.. do you only get paid for the time you’re on the flight or also time you’re out of the flight on the trip?
Big airlines pay you while your on the trip too
I flew for Emirates and we were given a cash allowance for food, the more days you stayed, the more the allowance was. For example if you did a 24 hour layover in the UK you’d get around £50-£60 depending on the hotel, location and timing. Now the allowance is given in their salary. I’d assume BA is similar.
@@auroraaxel5494 did you have to live in Dubai for emirates or did you get to stay in England ?
Yes you have to live in Dubai as they’re a Dubai based airline but it just makes the job even better as you’re closer to places like Asia and Australia if you want to travel on your time off and your days off are spent in the sun, you’ve always got something to do. Europe destinations are layovers unlike UK airlines where you turnaround. Most of the turnarounds in Emirates aren’t really places that most people would want to see anyway, I.e pakistan/Saudi Arabia/Afghanistan etc etc. UK flights are also really easy to swap on to because nobody wants them. I used to do 1-2 flights a month to Manchester to see my mum. I left Emirates a couple of years ago because of covid, however I was leaving anyway due to having a baby but I still live in Dubai and honestly I would never move back to the UK unless I really had to. Best decision I ever made working for Emirates. Hope that gives you some insight as I know moving to another country is really daunting.
@@auroraaxel5494 oh really. I never knew emirates staff never wanted to fly to the uk. So what do you do in Dubai now your not a flight attendant
i would love to do this but i have no gcse or work experience but i'm so confident and bubbly ugh
I don’t think you need GCSEs but try and get some experience in a customer facing role or try applying for a travel and tourism course at college, then try applying to budget airlines like easyjet or Ryanair, there might be a better chance with them but good luck and no harm in giving it a try applying to British airways!
Hi there, can I ask at what stage of the training process the uniform is normally issued to new Cabin Crew?
Beautiful in the proper British accent 😮😮😮
i love you 😍

Wanna ask the reporting duty location for every flight. I only know the flight is departed in terminal 5. And training is taken place at the global learning academy building. And any shuttle transportation provided by the company for reporting duty between global academy learning building, report duty building and the terminal 5?
Mam just a query
Does indian based cabin crew require indian Airport entry pass(AEP) like other indian airlines
Please reply
What your base was? I applied for gatwick and didn’t know that flights don’t go out of europe. Is short haul as long haul?

Hi I’ve just applied for BA cabin crew! I am awaiting to hear. Hoping to be successful, I am 36 but I decided now my children are grown I would love to embark on my career. I am Scottish but would be based in Heathrow so it would be a commute for shifts but don’t want it to deter me
what happened? Did you get accepted?
@@Chalize yes I did, I’m currently going through the employment checks etc it’s so stressful honestly. I’m so worried that a previous employer says something negative - I left employment because some of the companies I did not agree with their morals etc and I’m hoping they don’t hold that against me. One my references that I done a lot of just voluntary work for to help him when starting out and was to expand my skillset. He’s completed it and returned it so that’s one down. Fingers crossed 🤞 I have to send my licence but it has on it my property address I own with my husband, I am now at another address but it’s not a permanent address until my house sells so it’s stressful. I’m praying everything goes ok.
@@chelsealouise3137referencing isn’t to do with your behaviour they’re only confirming the dates you were employed
@@chelsealouise3137 How's everything gone so far? Are you Euroflyer or mainline?
@@RhododendronRevamping hi London heathrow mainline long distance. Unfortunately due to the agency who does the checks emailed me and said it was complete then BA called said they hadn’t received it so I have been waiting for almost 1 year now. I’ve spent so much money as I’m Scotland and I’m afraid all the checks I’ve had done will require redone, the one thing holding them up is because I’ve gap in my employment as I said to them I’m a mother of an autistic child there were times I would have to be present. They then asked gap references about benefits?! I was so angry this isn’t a thing you discuss with anyone it’s private like your salary etc. i have a disable child so yes I get benefits but all they said is we wouldn’t know that, so they refused to accept that and wanted another gap that would know. I’m at my wits end with it now. I’ve put so much time and energy into going back and forth to London to crewe for testing out of my own pocket and they are stuck on was I receiving benefits when I was off being a mother. Sorry for ranting there but I’m so frustrated and confused why that would be any different if I was a mother who had no 5 years of HMRC data I have just some gaps. I wish I had applied a few years ago as I was in 2 jobs 8 years then 7 wouldn’t been a problem. I have yet to get to the 6 week training never mind to the skies. I’m just wondering if it is worthwhile now.
I don't see much difference between being a waiter and cabin crew. The waiter serves in a restaurant and the cabin crew serves in a plane. Both jobs serve food, drinks and doing the cleaning etc
Cabin crew do so much more! First aid, more travelling, safety precautions, sales and more. Definitely different!
Hey Ma'am.I have been invited for the virtual assessment day. Will you able to say some of the important tips to be taken care off as well as ,as I am an Indian what all documents to be carried
Spoke to new air hostess at BA she said her salary starting is £38,000 per annum. I didn’t really believe that but is that true?
Ma'am I have cleared the online assessment of British Airways. Now to the assessment round.I have teeth braces. It will take a few span of time to be removed off.So if I make a visit to the assessment location will I be rejected for this reason?
No
Hi I'm curious to know since I live in Birmingham, would BA pay for my transport from my home to Heathrow airport and vice versa?
Hi lucinda strafford have you ever been asked out when your up in the air. Have you tried putting your tights in the freezer for 30sec so you don't get a ladder in them
What camera do you ussse? 😬
What camera do you use it’s really good ¿
I am nearly in my 30s and now I want to be a air hostess but i am really scared especially with my dyslexia but i guess you find a way.
How cuteee and gorg 😍🔥🔥
I am a foreign now living in another country..What are your suggestion if i want to apply the job before i do my working visa?
Hello. I had applied for ba vacany a month ago. They said I passed the initial online assessment but haven't been allotted with an assessment day slot. Could you please make a video about the update about the vacany.
See how you said you had a boyfriend the entire time you did it. My girl's joining BA cabin crew, I know you touched on it in the video but, is it tough to keep the relationship going in this kind of job?
Think of the free tickets u can get form her
Yeah you’re right! look me up for advice 👆👆
Hi lucinda, what course do I need to take to become cabin Crew ?
you dont need a specific course but you need a pass in english and maths and a minimum of a year work experience in a customer service job
What lipstick / gloss are you wearing in this video? xxx
I passed the online assessment centre and I start training soon. I’m also 19 year old and im SHOCKED that I even passed. I didn’t know the answer to any of questions, i completely waffled. My answers were only around 30-45 seconds long and I have no work experience. I heard training is quite stressful and intense. Do they test you on swimming because I suck at it ??
Hey where did you have your assessment? What airline have you applied for? Also i think you have to be able
To swim 25m? That’s what I’ve heard x
@@gemmamahonx6442 It was an online assessment so I had a roleplay and final interview with British Airways. About 2-3 days after the assessment they got back to me and said I’ll hear back from them shortly with a start date. It’s coming up to 4 weeks now and I still haven’t heard anything back from them about the start date😬
@@silverharford6118 what was the role play like and what kind of questions did they ask. I have mine soon
@@joeyjohn5277 The roleplay was customer service based, so I was an employee in a game store (lazer tag, paintball, escape room etc). A customer came in for her allocated time slot however, there was a technical problem so the activity she booked was unavailable. I had resolve the problem and satisfy the customer. (I can’t remember what I exactly said but something along the lines of explaining the situation, offering her a different activity and giving her a discount).
The interview was almost 3 months ago, so I can’t remember all the questions. But about 3 out of the 6 questions were to do with BA’s culture. I think one of the questions were “Tell me a time where you have been culturally aware?” There were 2 more culture related questions but I can’t remember.
But yeah, there were about 6 questions in total, I can’t remember them word for word but a few of the other questions were along these lines of;
- “What do you know about the role?”
- “Tell me about yourself?” -work, school ect
- Can’t remember the question but it was Customer Service experience related (which I don’t have lol, had to link it to school)
But overall the questions were a lot easier than I expected. The culture questions caught me off guard but overall it wasn’t too difficult. It was also my first ever interview so my answers were pretty short and I did waffle my way through most of them. But I do think the end saved me as I asked about 10 questions, made sure I sounded confident throughout the whole interview and smiled my way throughout the entire interview (even tho I was 💩 myself hahah).
I hope this helped and I wish you luck! 🍀
P.S. confidence and smiling is key !!!
@@silverharford6118 ah thank you. It’s a big help. I hope my interview doesn’t get cancelled again. I hope you had a good time in the air so far. Let’s see I may meet you if all goes well.
You could pass as Arabella Chi's younger sis swear down.
