Hi Cat!
In my roughly 55 years' experience of interviewing, I found one thing that really helps: At the beginning of the interview look the interviewer(s) in the eyes and THANK them for their time and effort. Just a moment of empathizing with their hard day of interviews will set you above almost everyone else.
Brings back so many very fond memories.
I worked for our company on our 747''s for 25 years.
You have made a great great video cip here. Congratulations ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hey Cat, what a fascinating video. We can see your strong leadership, business acumen and public speaking abilities. Those combined with your fluency in five languages and outstanding physical and personality attributes are definitely part of 'the whole package' that you bring to your new employment. I went to the open day here in my country, just for the experience, I didn’t pass but I’m planning to go again! I would also say try to be intentional with everything. From hair, posture, exact outfit/makeup, etc. I know it’s lowkey obvious, but the more intentional you are with details I think better chance you have to stand out. 😊
Very true! If you are hired, you will need to do the same with the uniform. Good luck next time

Hi Rosa! That's amazing, I'm so glad you are going for it! I don't think I'm allowed to share the exact questions or I would have done it in the video! This helped me heaps thank you so much . I got an email for an assessment/ recruitment email in Melbourne. i have been watching heaps of videos, but i just dont know what to expect on the first as i am not sure if i am going for the assessment right away or recruitment
Hi! Both the Open Day and the Assessment Day are recruiting events where candidates are assessed in rounds. Basically, you can expect to present yourself to a group of people over and over again, so ensure you look presentable (follow the standards in the video), come with the documents and have some answers prepared! I have more detailed info on my blog: www.catmansouri.com/episodes-page/episode-20-ek-2023 Good luck!
Hi Cat! This video really helps me lot, there were so many details that you told us and thx a lot!! Hi Mayli, that is so exciting! I think I pretty much said it all in the video but one thing I would like to share too is to have one year of customer service experience if you are interested in applying. It can even be a coffee shop or a family business, as long as you can share that with the recruiters they will be impressed. Even more if you have cabin crew experience. Hope this helps, thank you for watching! I can't wait to go and share with you guys!

Hi! I have an interview this Friday but I have a question… Is there any problem with glasses? Should I wear my glasses or not? I can see without them but I definitely see better with them.
Great video btw!
People with glasses are also hired. It's ok to be crew with glasses
Hi Cat, thanks for all your tips! You said you've been to two open days. Does that mean if you fail the first time, you can try again at another open day?
Hi Ben, that's right! If you are unsuccessful at the open day you can try again after a six-month waiting period but not before. Many people try more than a few times before getting the job. Hope that helps!
Lol during my first open day I forgot to bring food ^^ we stayed all day till the final interview and I was starving !!!
Haha pro tip for sure!
Very true. FA like pilots need to be calm cool and not dramatic. Absolutely.
Hi Cat! Thank you for sharing such useful experiences. However, I’ve always wondered that does the Emirates have a limit on nearsightedness? Because my nearsightedness is quite severe. Thank you. ❤️
Hello! As crew you can wear glasses or contact lenses to support your vision. That is not an issue :) Personally I got LASIK in order to ensure that I could see on board as crew. ☺
Hi! Thank you so much for this video. I will have the assessment in 2 days. Do they need only the Covid certification? Or do they mind about other kinds of vaccination? Thank you! You’re amazing 🥰🥰
Hi Alessandra! Congratulations and good luck! For the assessment day you only need COVID vaccination. Once you are accepted they will inquire about your medical history and about specific vaccines :)
I qent to the open days 2 weeks ago. It was good but sadly i need to wait because i cannpt start in the next 6 month. So i hope my next open days are successful!

Hi that’s a great idea. I’ll make one for you guys 🙂
Hello Cat, thank you for all the info. I have a question in case that you got the job, can you postpone the start month?
Hi Juan Camilo, yes there's no issues with postponing your date of joining. Usually you can ask for anywhere from 1-3 months without a problem. Longer than this might be a stretch. Good luck
Hey Cat! Thanks for the helpful video 😊
Tho is the 160 cm requirement, with or without heals???
Without heels! They measure you at the interview!
Hi! Thank you for your video, it was really useful. I would like to know if there is a maximum age when you can start a cabin crew carrier by the Emirates. Thank you!
Hello, there is no official maximum age but people say they don't hire Cabin Crew past 35
@@catbeingcurious Thank you! :)
Thank you Cat, one question. How many covid vax do we have to have un order to be part of the Emirates?
Hey! Thank you so much for the video! My invitation only interview is this Friday, 12th May. One of my biggest concern is that I can’t find a pencil skirt both online and in physical stores. Resorted to buying a formal pants to go along with my formal blouse and blazer - will that be ok/acceptable or will I get marked down?
Hi Zee, Congratulations! Your pants won't affect the interview process at all. As long as you show you're the best candidate for the job you'll likely make it to the end. The skirt really only affects the final stage when your photo is taken. I would recommend asking a family member or friend for a skirt! Most moms or professional women in your life have one in their closet. Even if it doesn't necessarily fit, you can pin it and make it look like it does. *Good luck!!!*

Hello, i really loved your video. And thanks for sharing with us. I have a question for you. Im also working as an intern Cabin Attendant in my country. But i ll have an interview with Emirates soon. I got my lips filled and it does not look exaggerating for me. Do you think this lip filler could be a problem for recruiter ?
Because i have seen many girls who have got lip filler. So i was just wondering if im good or not 🥺
Hello, if it looks natural I think it should be okay. I don't think it would be a major issue
Hi Cat! I was wondering how long the whole process is? From the open day to the golden call? Is it from 1 week to 1 month for example!
Thank you!
Hi there! It fully depends on the operational requirements of the company. For example, right now they are hiring tons of people from around the world to make up for COVID staffing losses and travel coming back. However, at other times in the past it has taken several months.
Personally, I applied online a week or so before the Open Day in 2023, and once I went I heard back within 48 hours. Usually if you are successful in my understanding you hear back pretty soon but everyone's experience is different.
My invitation only interview is in 5 days 🤩🙈 thanks for this video💜

Hi! I'm glad it helped :) If it's on the back of your ear and it's small I don't think it's a problem at all. Don't be scared to shine and be yourself at your assessment day. They like girls (and guys) who speak confidently and also are team players. Good luck

So can I still go to the recruitment day if I don't have a passport with me as yet but in process and tell them that it is still in process but provide them with my ID and other mentioned documents? I'm from south Africa and got their invitation 2 days ago .
Hello! I would recommend you go, even if just to see how it is. Try to get as far as you can in the process to learn what you need to do to succeed. It's good practice! It's hard to say if they will accept you because I don't know how long the process of getting your passport is. In the meantime though, at least you'll be better prepared!

absolutely love how informative this video is!
I haven't been able to go through all of the comments so forgive me if this was asked before...what sort of questions/topics are covered in the group interviews? is it just Q&A sessions?
They mostly just ask very general questions like to present yourself to the group or describe an image. The questions are fairly broad but the main idea is they want to see how you present yourself confidently and your behaviour in a group setting. I recommend being supportive of others and speaking with confidence for success :)

Which are the mandatory vaccines to work as cabin crew at the date of today, November 2023?

hello, thank you so much for the video!! I am 18 and applying to college, but want to become a flight attendant. I am so lost right now. I don't know what to study, or maybe I should take training courses, but will they accept as an eighteen year old to any airlines? What are your suggestions?
Hi! Don't worry you're actually totally in the right place.🤗 You don't need to study anything in particular to fly, you only need some experience in customer service and depending on the airline, to meet some minimum requirements.
The good news is that although you can't work at Emirates until you are 21, you will be able to work at other airlines and gain experience that makes you more attractive to the company. Try to find airlines in your region or home country so you can get some experience as crew before applying.
Also, you can use this time before you turn 21 to learn a language for your own interest or that the company will find attractive, like Arabic, improve your English, French or something else that you might enjoy. That way, when you turn 21 you can hit the ground running with airline experience and multiple languages!
Last, you can always go back to your studies once you have been working as cabin crew / as a flight attendant. Save money while you work and see what career path suits you down the road if you change your mind :) There is enough time to figure out the best path for you, trust me. You don't need to know the whole path of your life at 18 haha.
Hope this helps! There's really no point to worrying. You got this

I had a doubt, and i hope you'll help me with it. I applied for the Emirates Cabin Crew position today and by when can i expect to hear from them (how long does it take)? And do they have open days every month in India?
Thank You:)
Hello, thank you for your kind comment. Your response time will depend, like if the company is hiring a lot at the moment they will likely answer faster I think. They are hiring many cabin crew right now, which is great news for you! I would recommend going to an Open Day for the fastest response. You can check all the dates and locations in India that have been announced here: www.emiratesgroupcareers.com/cabin-crew/
I'm so thankful for this video thank you for making it as I am considering to become cabin crew when I'm and adult however I am Muslim and there are a few requirements such as I may not be able to serve alcohol. Will this effect anything?
Hello! Many crew are muslims, and they do ask you if you are willing to serve alcohol at the interview, as well as if you are willing to wear the uniform. If your beliefs do not align with being crew (for example, you want to keep your hijab and not the uniform, or you don't want to serve alcohol) there are other positions at the airline you can apply for! Maybe try finding a position in the EK offices or as a gate agent at the airport. I have seen many of the gate agents in hijabs and they don't serve alcohol. Good luck :)
Thank you so much for the reply
Hey Cat , Thank you for the amazing video. This is really informative.. I have a question can I still apply I'm 32?
Hello, yes you can! I was 30 when I got the job. I think they care less about your age than how old you look and how healthy you are. If you're 32 and still look and feel amazing, go for it! ☺
Hey Cat! Thanks so much for the video, it’s so insightful 😊 I was just wondering, did you have any prior experience of working as cabin crew before you applied at all? I personally don’t and I’m unsure as to whether it will affect my chances of getting hired or not. Any advice is super appreciated, thank you so much! ❤
their website says they prefer to have someone with a year of customer service experience so i would like to know it as well. do they hire complete freshers?
Hello! You do need a year of customer service experience but cabin crew experience is optional. Personally I did have crew experience at Air Canada but many are hired without it as the company trains you!
Hi! Do I need to bring my photos to the assessment day or only to the open day? I heard that the emirates also take pictures, do you know in what case?) thank you in advance ☺️
Hello, as long as you have uploaded photos online you don't need them in person, at least at my open day I didn't. They take your photo if you make it to the final interview to send back when your file is evaluated. Hope that helps!
Thank you for your video. i wonder if i have scars on my arm _cant be clear seen. would it be a problem

Hi Antoinette, not at all! The company pays for training in Dubai. :)
Hi Cat! Great vid ;) do you know if they accept man with a neatly tied hair, meaning ponytail or bun? Cant find this info anywhere and i know some airlines even though their website guides sugest otherwise, they still do accept it. Thanks in advance!
Hi Marcin! This is a great question. Emirates is fairly strict in terms of its looks guidelines as a company. I know for women, they are specific down to the nail shape and color. On their website, they state "neatly presented" and show short hair as the guideline for male cabin crew. They don't say anything about long hair.
That said, my personal recommendation is that since they take your photo in the final interview stages I wouldn't risk having long hair. Although your hair may be beautiful and look clean, chances are they value a more conservative look and with the chances of getting the job already being slim, you don't want to miss out on travelling the world for your pony tail.
If it really is important to you or your identity, hair also always grows back! So you can always assess when you get to Dubai after getting the job whether it's worth it to grow it out once you get a better feel for the company.
Good luck!!
@@catbeingcurious Thank you soo much for putting the time and effort to give me such a comprehensive answer - It says volumes about the kind of person you are - the company is lucky to have you representing in a way representing them here on YT. I ll definitely reconsider how much "me" (if at all ;) ) would be trimmed away with the hair and I ll act accordingly. In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful day Cat!
btw just subbed your channel so stay curious 🙃
@@MiCiNpk Haha that's great, thanks so much! Hope you enjoy the adventure
@@MiCiNpk Thanks that's so kind of you to say ☺
Hello Cat, thanks for this video. Please can I wear stockings for the open Day?
Hi Bertille, yes you can. Just make sure they are nude and match your skin tone or one shade darker. Good luck! :)
Thanks very much
Thank you so much for explaining everything with great kindness!❤ Cat, could you please tell me whether weight matters for the job or not? If you are fat but highly educated, like Mphil or Ph.D., and want to be a cabin crew out of passion now , do you still get the job or at least considered seriously for the role? Because I might get to appear in the interview next month , I am so worried about my 90 kg weight! Because cannot reduce much in a month.
Hello! Congrats on finding a career you are passionate about. 🙂BMI does come into play, because Cabin Crew are required to be healthy and fit enough to save passengers and act in emergency situations. If one month is not enough time for you, I would recommend starting a health regimen if it's something you really want and attending a future open day (you are allowed). Also, as Emirates is pretty strict with the weight, you might want to seek out a less strict airline in another country too! They're not all as strict on weight, some countries are more open. Good luck
Hi love! Thank you so much for your video loved it!
I have my assessment day on the 19th of May.
I was wondering how they would be about me not having my certification for my education 😢 I’m devastated. I also selected I aren’t vaccinated but still been shortlisted x
Me too!
@@lordj335 19th May in lpool?
@@aneesahkhan2531 Yeah!! I'm nervous as hell to be honest!
@@lordj335 omg! So am I😂😂😂. We’ll have to meet up there!! Be nice to meet someone. Have you got social media i could contact you on? Xxx
Hi Aneesah! One of their requirements is a minimum of high school (Grade 12) education according to their website. If you don't have the certification, it may be possible to complete your high school online! I know in the USA and North America you can get a GED which is equivalent. If you're just missing the certificate itself, maybe try calling your school beforehand or paying them a visit to get a copy. Good luck!!
Hello, thank you for this video.
I have a question, I have a scar on the front of my leg already near the ankle, it is not very big and it is the color of my skin. Will they not accept me for that?
Thank you.
Hello, if I were you I would declare it when asked and they will inform you themselves if it's okay :)

Hi Cat, is birthmark included under visible scars/tattoos? Also, is the height measurement with heels or barefooted?
Thank you giving advices & tips!
Hello, birthmarks or any types of markings kind of fall in the same category. Basically any markings that are out of the ordinary that a passenger might notice are what they are trying to avoid. The height measurement is barefooted :) They make you take your shoes off before they measure the day of. Good luck!! Glad you liked it. Hello, do I need to bring passport pic and full body picture during the open days / assessments days? Is it compulsory to bring?
Hi! Most everything is online now so as long as you uploaded it when applying you should be okay and don't need the physical copy. They may even take your photo if you make it to the final rounds of interviews :)
This is super informative, thank you very much. I'm going to an assessment day in two days, and I wanted to ask you what kind of questions do they ask in group discussions? Also, does me not having straight teeth going to work against me?
Hello! The questions are very basic and easy to answer. They don't really care what your answer is, they are more looking at how you answer. For more info you can check out my blog post on this episode: www.catmansouri.com/episodes-page/episode-20-ek-2023
As for teeth, I am not sure but you can always ask your recruiter at the open day. I'm sure that it will be okay unless it's clearly noticeable
Thank you very much ♥️
@leboganglinette9968 how it went gurl? give me advice, please. im scared about my teeth too. i wear braces and have lil gap :(
@@babygirl8151 I got eliminated in the first round so I don't know hey.
Hello Cat
I just wanted to know that after the golden call we have to submit our BMI certificate are they really strict about BMI
if yes what’s the range our BMI should be
Thanks for your informative video :)
Hi I'm pretty sure as long as your BMI does not indicate you are overweight you're okay.
I think the official BMI for being overweight is 30 but in any case when you join the company they measure your height and weight themselves the first week.
Hi Cat! I hope you're doing well, thank you for this video first of all. I have two questions, I would appreciate it if you could help me. The first one is that my passport has expired, would it be a problem on the interview day or should I apply for a passport again before going? The second one is, I have one crooked tooth which can barely be seen but I know they are super careful about teeth so would that create a problem? Thank you very much❤
Hi Asenna, if I were you I would apply for a passport again as soon as possible. As for teeth it's hard to say but often other people don't notice our imperfections as much as we do. I would say if it bothers you enough, you can change it but otherwise don't change yourself for the company or let it get to you unless it's really something you think is worth changing personally :) Good luck
@@catbeingcurious Thank you for your response Cat, I really appreciate it. Wising you all the best!
@@catbeingcuriouswow, you did put it on the point, love it how you explain it!
Hello Cat, I hope this finds you well. I can't see open days in my country Kenya, yet I have applied online for the cabin crew job which I feel qualified. What should I do? Traveling to another country for open days is expensive for me.
Kindly advise me, I don't have a passport & covid certificate too as of now but in the process of getting them, how much time do i have to get this essentials?
Thanks!
Hi Brian, if you dream of flying for Emirates you can try to find cabin crew jobs close to you. An airline in your area can not only give you experience and help you save money, but you can then also fly to Dubai or another city with that airline and join an Open Day with more to offer! Hope that helps!
@@catbeingcurious Thanks 🙏🏿
Hi cat I wanted to apply for cabin crew on the site but I have no idea of what to put on my CV thou I have worked in different coffee shops, restaurants, and hotels and I’m convinced on the type of picture to attach to the document. Please can you help?
Hi sure, email me at hello@catmansouri.com and I can help
hii cat! this was so insightful! i would like to know if they hire complete freshers? with no experience in customer service?
Hello! You do not need cabin crew experience but you do need some sort of customer service (1 year). This can include unpaid or volunteer work, internships, etc.
@@catbeingcurious thank you so much for replying! I'll keep this in mind. Does ngo work count as well?
@@tia2069 Any job where you are in service to other people or working providing a service to clients can count :)
Thank you so much for this informative video! 😊 I have a question, if you would get the golden call the day after the open day, when would you then have to arrive in Dubai? It takes time to get residence permit I would assume, does the company have a “time limit” to get to Dubai from your home country? Thank you again 🙏❤️
Hi! Yes you can delay your joining date for as much time as you need, within a 5-6 month timeframe. I myself delayed for 3 months as I had to settle some affairs like my apartment and job before leaving Canada. Cheers
@@catbeingcurious awesome Thank you so much 🥰❤️
Hello again I have another question please if you don’t mind 🙏❤️ I have no previous job experience in customer service only in health care. Do you think the recruiters would accept me? If so, how could I possibly adjust my job experiences in my cv so it sounds convincing enough that they would hire me? Thank you in advance for help, I’m very desperate for it 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
@@chuuz3859 Hi there, any experience when you were working as part of a team providing a service to people can count as customer service.
Healthcare definitely counts!
You are likely trained in first aid, have worked in high pressure environments, paid attention to detail and as part of a team. Don't discount yourself, that is great experience for your CV!

Dear Cat, thank you for video!💜 Could I ask a question, is it mandatory to wait 6 months before reattending to Emirates Assessment day? I heard that only ones who had final interview should wait 6 months, others can apply
Hi Dan, anyone who has applied and been rejected has to wait six months. A recruiter told me this as I did not make my first open day but I did make it at my second one after six months!
Hello Cat , Can I attend another opening day if i don’t get to the final stage on the first one
Hi Sandra! Yes you can but you need to wait 6 months before going to the next one. That's what I did, and I got the job the second time. Good luck!
Hi cat, i just received an email telling me for the video assessment, but watching your video i dont have passport yet. Should i create the passport first or wait for the next call for the full day interveiew? Thank you!
Hi Rianti, regardless of your interview if your dream is to be crew or travel I would get a passport as soon as possible if you ask me ☺
I have all these qualities ❤️
Hope to see you in the air!
@@catbeingcurious you are so motivating, thank you so much. It still have 4 years me to be eligible to apply for Emirates. Thank you again :)

Is there possible to pass interview online? Thank you for your advices❤they are precious!!!
Thank you so much! I know over the pandemic they were doing online interviews. It seems it is returning to in-person now. I think even if you have some online assessments at some point it will be in person too!
What are required to apply in Emirates dispatch if you are working for Dnata
Hi Areeb, I'm not sure about Dnata but you can find all the requirements for different Emirates positions online here: www.emiratesgroupcareers.com/search-and-apply/
Hi Cat! Thank you for all the info ❤ I do have a question, when you arrive to Dubai, do they physically check you for scars?
Hi Estefania, they don't scrutinize your body or anything but you will have uniform checks
Hi Cat, thanks for the helpful and detailed advices. Vaccine is still required as of today?
Hi Lorenzo, as far as I know yes that is the case because the requirement is actually from the Dubai Airport for all crew. If you don't have it, you will receive it at the start of training as they do medical exams. My suggestion is to get it though anyway as different countries have different requirements. Good luck :)
taken directly from emirates' site : "All passengers travelling to Dubai are no longer required to present a COVID‑19 vaccination certificate or perform PCR tests. " Does this applies to cabin crew as far as you are aware? I wouldn't want to waste time going to an open day if i don't meet basic requirements as vaccine is not mandatory right now and pointless at this stage.@@catbeingcurious
@@lorenzogarufi9768 hey Did you go to the open day ?
Hi cat .. i don’t have a passport it’s okay or it will be a problem ??
Hi Cat, i really love your videos.
I wanted to know if i can get selected if i’m 159 cm but i’m able to reach 212 cm high, because my arms are long.
Are they so strict just for 1cm?
Hi, to be honest with you they are very strict about this as they measure it the day of. When I did it in Canada, they didn't allow us to wear heels and I had to take my shoes off. A friend of mine did it in Portugal and she was allowed to keep her heels though. It may depend on the recruiter in that case. I would say if it's your dream, not to give up but to prepare for the worst and expect the best. You can always apply to other airlines that may not be as strict. Good luck
hey cat, does the passeport copy is necessary in the interview?
Hi, yes you should have this for the interview. You may not need a physical copy of the passport but uploading a picture with your application online is good for the recruiters to ensure there are no issues. If you don't have a passport or are in the process of renewing it be sure to mention it.

Hey cat ! Great video but i have one question, i am not 21 years old yet but will be in 5 months, i have read somewhere that as long as you will turn 21 years old in the upcoming 6 months you can applu and if they like they'll know when to get back to you, is this correct ? hope you answer xx
Hi, I believe this is correct. When hired you can let them know how much time you need before going to Dubai. You can let them know you will be 21 in a few months and they can postpone you joining for example :) Good luck to you
