    This is good info and something I had not thought about - I have seen a few people on the 200 series post about white smoke issues on DPF models so I have shared this to the posts to help them… legend 🤙

    Interesting technology, but I'm so glad I've got a 2015 model 😏

    Thank you for the best video and explanation of the DPF system. Can you tell me where the 2 burn injectors are located on the exhaust system. A picture would be excellent.
    Keep up the good work.

      Awesome feedback, thank you so much🍺 The 2 additional injectors are located at the back of each cylinder head with dedicated ports in the head on the exhaust side. Fuel is injected into these ports and enters the exhaust system during regeneration. When the ports become blocked the system will be unable to complete a DPF regeneration. That usually means engine out to clean out the ports. I have seen them cleaned with engine in vehicle but it’s not a fun job. Unfortunately I do not have a photo that will clearly explain the location.

    Thanks for the very informative video!
    Seems there are quite a number of 200’s doing the same now and egr/injector/Dpf issues are becoming more commonplace. Surely cannot keep replacing and expecting a different outcome! So what is the answer other than the obvious to sell?????

    Hi Darek, awesome explanation of the various components of the DPF system on the 200 Series. Seems like the 200 Series does not employ an extra fuel injector to squirt fuel for burnoff, unlike the 150 Series 1GD motor. So how does the 200 Series fuel the burn off activity? Does it use the existing 8 injectors to squirt fuel into the DPF?

      Hi
      Thanks very much for the comments. LC200 has 2 additional fuel injectors for DPF regeneration. Each bank has one injector located at the back of the cylinder head. Difficult to access.

    Hey Derek, having similar issues on my own 200 series. Just wondering if you have found the issue causing the white smoke?

    Hi just wondering if u have found an answer to this problem as mine is doing the same thing only on mine, blowing white smoke only on regen, i have seen plenty of the 2.8 hilux do it but never a 200 series, it has only started since toyota replaced the dpf and egr and cooler under warranty befor that it was only soot in the exhaust witch was why the warranty work was done in the dirst place.

    Hey Derek, I was just wondering if you found the issue that was causing the white smoke.

      Hey,
      We have replaced the catalyst for bank2 and it was still blowing smoke. We removed the exhaust system up to the back of the DPF’s and noticed it blows smoke from bank1 only. Reinstalled broken catalyst onto bank 2 again and blowing smoke from both banks. Replacing the catalyst on bank2 fixed white smoke issues on that bank. Bank1 catalyst looks intact externally but we can’t see inside of it and suspect a blockage internally. It’s likely breaking apart from the inside and will eventually collapse like bank2. We are awaiting a new bank1 catalyst from Japan before confirming, but all indications are that will be the problem

      Hi,
      We analysed the engine computer files with Toyota’s help and confirmed that this engine has not been tuned. Car has only done 6000km so this is very unusual.

    Hi great video. I have a J200 that won't regen properly Bank 1 ok but bank 2 during regen won't go above 400degC, had sensors, DOC, regen injector, still no luck please help

      Has the additional injector port been cleaned on Bank2 ?

    • @user-jc2jl9mr8t
      @user-jc2jl9mr8t Před 10 měsíci

      No ,could hardly get to the injector and the end wasn't caked up so just replaced it. Any tips on access for cleaning port ? Does the extra injector need calibration ,Catalyst pilot qty learning value ? Had the DPF cleaned can this remove any precious coating inside ? Only abnormality on Techstream is exhaust temp B1S4 unsupported at -40C Thanks @@nunawadingtoyota8134

    • @nunawadingtoyota8134
      @nunawadingtoyota8134  Před 10 měsíci

      There are only three exhaust temp sensors on each bank. Sensor 4 is not supported that is why you are seeing -40.
      Bank 2 is on the passenger side and includes cylinders 2 4 6 8. Best way to clean the injector port is engine out and exhaust manifold off. Doing it in the car is possible but not fun. No calibration required with new injector but battery needs to be disconnected to reset add injector feedback values.
