I see a lot of angry gamers saying I'm driving up graphic card prices...dudes, get a playstation why would you game on a PC anyway? They cost 10x more and playstations have just as good graphics and are much more simple to set up. Gaming on a PC does not mean you have a bigger willy! see my comparison! czcams.com/video/3rPTEF82w4s/video.html

That totally isn't the point. Some of these companies build inventory that disappear nearly instantly to the likes of miners (RX 580 being the prime example). Realistically they cannot increase MSRP anyway (you risk losing market share doing that).

    1) It's very entertaining, which is the whole point. I want to give you kudos for going out of your comfort zone on camera, for our entertainment. Few can do that.
    2) Technically, and unlike many here, I am very impressed. For someone who has no clue what he was doing, you did shockingly well. There is a difference between stupid and ignorant. And you definitely knew what you didn't know, which puts you ahead of most. As a IT guy for 25 years, I've worked with many IT people who couldn't get as far as you did. Very resilient.
My son and I stumbled onto your channel while surfing r/c videos on CZcams. Your videos are now in heavy rotation, brightening up our day during this lock-down. To Kevin Talbot. You will make money! Buy more memory and more cards. That board will do much more and present the BTC price is around 11k. It will go up and so will your profits. Also look into adding a Wind turbine or Plug and Play Solar. If its windy you could easily get 400 watts from the air. If its sunny (have no ideal your weather) than it could be up to 1500 watts free from the sun. Pipe the heat in the winter and save on heating cost. I killed my business, my house, and my parents heating bill. Get someone experienced to help you OVERCLOCK. Please don't do it yourself. Maximize everything and it will pay!

Now if you found another use for that hardware, it might actually be worth it.. I bitmine on my two PC's, which I also use for gaming, serving up files (on my massive 14+ Terrabyte RAID 5 array), playing video's (entertainment use in Living room on big screen TV) like streaming video's, downloading torrents, word processing, communications, forums, web browsing, banking, investing, commerce (ebay / Amazon / ....), SO.. Yea, Bit mining helps pay for some electricity costs, but to make money??? Nope. Bitcoin mining is not profitable, considering all the current costs. And yes, it is frustrating when you cannot upgrade your video card without paying 2 to 4 times as much, and waiting many weeks / months to get that hardware with all the bitmine hype ignorant people have been suckered into. Glad I wasn't the guy who wasted the cash to set your rig up.. would be about as embarrassing as stating that a Xbox is better than a PC. (Pun intended)

so what if he put a standard intel Fan and Heatsink on it
      it cools it doesn't it
the heatsink has factory thermal paste applied to it
      what's the problem ?
ever since gamers got their dicks hard about liquid cooling system's and those heatsinks they are so big that they barely fit in your case
every gaming dickhead claims that the stock Fan and heatsink don't work
      YES THEY DO
they have been working for years before you guys were even born and there has been no issue
and since the introduction of gaming and dual core computing, THEY STILL WORKED JUST FINE
and to this day i can prove ON ANY GAMING PC that i come across, that if i take off your liquid cooling system and put on a stock Intel Active Cooling system , it will still work JUST FINE
the only difference is the shit that you guys put in your head and decide to believe because gaming corporations tell you that YOU NEED IT
just like they tell you you need a 1000Watt Power supply HEHE
so they can make money from you.
i do however agree with you that touching the bottom contacts of the CPU is fucking stupid

      LMFAO

also. Gamers do not NEED liquid cooling
      Gamers WANT liquid cooling
because it's cool (no pun intended)
Liquid cooling doesn't become necessary until you get to high end servers and data centers
Gamers tend to like to have a wank for the most part.
I have taken gaming machines that were running PSU that were 1000 Watt and i have managed to get them to barely run on a 350 Watt PSU but comfortably on 500 WATT
i have had gaming machines that had liquid cooling installed that i have managed to run with a PASSIVE COOLING SYSTEM (in case you don't understand... that means... heat sink only, no fan)
some can do this, some cannot
      the point is...
liquid cooling for gamers is a wank
i get it... it looks cool
but, as for NECESSARY............ NO IT'S NOT
i've tested it, i've worked it out mathematically
      it's not a necessity
i'ts just a way to waste more money and look cool... SIMPLE AS THAT
Most gamers don't even understand what a WATT is to begin with , let alone Needing a Certain amount of Watts
Most gamers don't understand what overclocking is, other than "making the computer go faster"
Most gamers do not understand what FPS means to begin with
      like i said mate
hundreds of clients, 16 years, I've heard it all, and tested it all.
People like you who try to tell me that they NEED something in a system
NOW THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A SECOND
DON'T YOU THINK THAT IT MAKES SENSE FOR A BUSINESS OWNER LIKE MYSELF TO ESTABLISH IF A GAMER NEEDS SOMETHING OR NOT
      doesn't that sound logical ?
      well. i have
and i have been challenged by every gamer that has come my way
and i've always been right because i've tested it
now.. i'm happy for you to prove me wrong
but.. YOU WON'T, because i've tested it
      ok
so.... YOU TRUST ME ON THIS.. ok
you don't need that liquid cooling system
you don't need that oversized heat sink with 2 x 12cm fans
for most systems, including gaming system, the stock fan is perfectly fine
      it'll run whatever you want
League of Legends, World of Warcraft. Battlefield... whatever

OH, BTW... if you want this stuff to actually turn a profit, then install some solar panels for the power. I've seen several DIY solar setups which can deliver 2kWh just using banks of reconditioned car batteries (cheap or free), like, eight $100 panels, and a $800 converter (and even better if you can figure out how to run DC directly into the computer parts without converting to AC and then back to DC - which is what the computer parts all use.
I think that as long as you're drawing power from the mains at household consumer rates you will never be satisfied with the amount of money it generates (or in some cases costs).

OK your not going to get more than £6 with that rig. Your looking at mining completely wrong and how you make money. The fact you got it going surprised me from the moment you couldn't even pronounce the CPU properly. Thats never a good sign.
So in as close to Chav IQ as I can, I will explain mining and getting your rig going.
Mining is called that, because you mining for that golden nugget (share). Over time you will accumulate enough shares to get a reward (coin). That (coin) isnt £or$ or any other countries currency, its just the (coin) you where mining.
Meanwhile on the trading markets around the world, all the (coins) will be gaining/loosing just like every other stock exchange. What you are mining for is that whatever (coin) you have rockets in value in a days/weeks/months/year/years.
This is where all the cryptocoin millionaires where made. They started when Bitcoin was worth $0.02 and was easy to mine (get shares). Now its hard to get rewards and the coins are worth $6000 each.
    Now to fix that rig.
Take out all the risers and put electrical tape round the USB connected board that fits in the PCIE slot on the motherboard. (dont know what I am on about, google it and learn, this info would of saved me a week of dicking about)
Uninstall your graphics driver using DDU (google it)
Reinstall your drivers so you know your on a baby fresh install.
Turn off the machine, for safety turn off the power and then press on to discharge all the electricity
Connect the monitor to the MOTHERBOARD DVI port, dont use the GPU (you can but it causes irregular issues)
Add the 1st card and boot
Right click windows icon bottom left and click on DEVICE MANAGER, its 5th down in the list approx. It will a list, and your probably either get nothing (good) or your get some warnings in display adapters or one of the other sections.
If you see your GPU great. If its got a warning, just wait, you might see your monitor go off and on. Good that it being installed.
Once your done with eh 1st you repeat this for every GPU.
If one does not show in Device Manager, change your USB cable if you can, and then the riser and then move to a different PCIE lastly swap that GPU over with another to see if its a dead GPU. Its normally a riser or a PCIE slot being a fucker but I have had shit GPU's.
Lastly I recommend all noobs getting into this to download NICEHASH, get yourself a Bitcoin wallet, press play and let it do its thing.

You have a x16 slot available on that board. While you cannot plug directly into it with your set-up and manage to have all those cards, you CAN use an extender. A x16 to x16 extender would be significantly better than what you're using on a x1 to x16 riser. Consider the bandwidth of those cards. The x16 slot is quite literally 16 times as fast. You'd get a major boost just doing that. You'd do better just plugging in 1 card into the x16 slot than having all 4 working together on x1 slots. Seriously bad method of building that rig. Still, having the extra 3 together after you've adjusted for that, you'd end up with a modest gain.

Some thing to point out 1. Using windows for mining is just ridiculous, windows is one of the most resource heavy os out there. 2 you have ports for 4 more gpu in your mother board, you should have plug more gpu. 3. 1 cpu +4 gpu, i admit gpu is better for mining but what of the performing speed of pc. You are making cpu more work to manage those 4 hefty gpu/s.

His power bill is somewhat fixed cost. However what he has been earning in BTC increases in value. So that 4.5 value he earned per day in Oct, or 139.50 for 30 days at a cost of 62 and is a net value of 77 for the month. That should be worth 269 at some Dec BTC values. To really make your money back, he just needs to evaluate when its best to cash in on his coins received for mining.

Kevin, I love your content but telling PC gamers to get a PS is like telling an RC fan to buy Argos RC equipment lol, Remember that Smiths £100 RC car you destroyed with an X-max? That's basically like a PC vs a PS. Though I do agree you can only get exclusives on certain consoles and sometimes it's a lot easier for people to sit on the couch and fire up a console and know everything is going to work but again like a propper RC car on a PC it's your custom job you built and tuned so it's nothing like a console it's better and your own touch and style, plus a lot of games on PC aren't available on console, keep up the good work with your channel dude, and my god it was painful watching you build this computer lol but entertaining. much love. =D
