    I’m sick of people saying it’s not a Mini or looks like a mini! First, this the name . Second, when the original Countryman came out some folks said it didn’t look like a Mini. I love the Minis! All versions. I have a 2020 Countryman and am trading it in for the new 2025 model coming out. The changes made are awesome in my opinion.

      This 2024 version looks extremely ugly vs old models!! Interior not ergonomic and cheaply fashioned. To be honest look like a KIA! You understand me, lost it’s expensive look. Someone will lower the sales of mini 100%

    I test drove this car at Mini Garage here in Brissie. For peace of mind, I have test drove this with the better half and a 4 year old. We did thoroughly check out the back seats, the comfort, the performance and the design. Yes, there is not instrument cluster but the heads up display is quite good. I am 6.2 and this car seemed pretty good in the second row too.
    We have also checked with interior detailers about the maintainability of the interiors and they said the interior is not real fabric and its all knitted. So a damp micro fiber cloth should be enough.
    Rearview mirror - not great
    Digital cluster - May need some getting used to. Its bit laggy but i think BMW has the same MINI os and its crap there too. May be an OS update
    Comfort - great
    Boot - pram and shopping bags!
    ride - Little bit firm but not neck breaking
    Steering - not a go kart anymore. Thats for a good reason. Light steering feel
    seats- excellent. Queenslanders - No ventilated seats for our humid climate !
    panoramic sunroof is soo good. For my height, I still have like 5-10 cms space above my head.
    We finally ordered the S All 4 Favoured as Brissie roads are not that great and often there's slippery roads and hence we've opted that. For our situation this is a second car we have a workhorse in the name of cx-9 that does all the heavy lifting. We used motorscout to get good deals. Free and no fuss.

    I have the 2016 Countryman S Parklane 2l Diesel 6 speed Manual AWD and love love love it. When I upgrade I will definitely get another one. It took a little while to get used to some aspects of it. Definitely a great car.

    Love this car, and it was on my purchase list to look at, but no spare tyre is a deal breaker for me, especially with interstate travel being part of my needs. Big miss for the brand not understanding the Australian market needs ☹️

    I have test driven "Countryman C" a day before this was published. The ride was quite good than I expected. But the missing instrument cluster (speedometer, etc) is little strange to be honest. Anyway is it quite spacious and felt good to be inside. And the steering wheel is small compared to others and the indicator controller is located in the left hand side. Therefore I put the wipers few times when I wanted to turn the vehicle. Further the 360 camera and all sorts of sensors is quite helpful, but I haven't had much time to explore the OLED center console. Except for the critics I don't feel bad about this vehicle. Not too sure about the services and costs.

    The BMW mini is an interesting car, seems to drive well and is certainly more comfy than the original Mini (which I loved). I’m unsure about the screen, would have to see it directly to know if I like or don’t like it. An excellent review, thanks!

    I don't think the "face" looks as good as the previous generation (same goes for the other models in the Mini line-up), but otherwise it seems pretty nice indeed

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  Před 23 dny +1

      I’m with you. The new interpretation of the face is a bit laboured. But it’s hard with pedestrian impact rules in Europe - basically it needs to be boxy.

    Good looking SUV and practical while still being compact outside. I wish it ran a torque converter auto rather than a dual clutch, also BMW group's reliability and longevity has been patchy over the last 15 years... I hope this one is better.

    • @eminemme100
      @eminemme100 Před 2 měsíci +2

      I sat in the Lexus LBX - It felt like too much luggage stuffed in a 7kg check-on baggage. Space is compromised and I felt claustrophobic.

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Interesting choice to have. The LBX is certainly compact, and if that's your primary objective, it wins. The Countryman is a better small family SUV, so for me, that's why I'd pick it.

    I’m not comfortable driving around without a spare, I’ve had Minis in the past and run flats did the job, but nervous when it comes to glue in a can however realise majority of manufacturers are moving away from a spare all together so moral for me is if I want a new car, I have to just suck up glue in a can and hope for the best! 😊

    • @therightcar

    3. No spare tyre.. in aus?.. like wtf?.. dumbest idea on the planet.
    4. why pay BMW service prices when you can just go buy a BMW?
    5. Did they forget to put the centre caps on the wheels?
    The Tail lights are the coolest thing on the car. Shame you can't see them when your driving it.
