- Is Taron at Phantasialand Still GOOD In 2024? Join Scott, Stephen and Andy as we talk about the roller coaster Taron at Phantasialand; is it still good? Have newer launch coasters taken the edge off Taron? Or is Taron still one of the best coasters out there?

Good on you, Scott. Taron is a beautiful coaster and just such a stunning experience. We got to ride in 2022 and 2023 (so lucky), and it is a special coaster for my boyfriend and I. The score, the trains, the theming, the launches (especially the wicked second launch), the transitions-ahhh, it is very, very special indeed. We have been on the breathtaking GCE last summer(you might remember me telling you about our insufferable 3 hour wait 😮) and I can see how the technology is improving and progressing from 2016 Taron to 2023 GCE. Taron paved the way! Great video, thanks for making it. Taron deserves the love!
Hey Audrey, I remember you telling us! Dreadful queuing experience that 😤
We definitely have Phantasialand and Taron to thank for the newer stuff from Intamin 😊
Absolutely, its a beast especially at night!
It’s a special coaster in the dark
@@yourexperienceguide Both FLY and Taron are simply unbeatable as an overall experience. Amazing rides and top tier themeing too.
is it me or do they go faster at night
@@hashass8653 yeah they warm up, deffo faster at night
Taron is an amazing roller coaster! I've been there last month and absolutely loved it, especially at night. It is so fast, the transitions are great, everything is perfect! I wish I could ride in it every single day 🤣
It’s incredible at night
Yes, I went on it in October for the first time and it made my number 4!
Awesome, what’s your top 3?
that shot at 6:48 is really nice, well done!
Thank you 🙏
It's probably in the top three coasters on my bucket list! I know there's other, more regarded coasters out there, but there's just something about Taron...
This ride is Awesome!!!! It's currently my number one coaster because of the excellent and very detailed theming, the fact it doesn't invert but still gives and incredible tide and that second launch for me is magic. The ride is so well designed and its intense even before leaving the station with knowing the launch is just seconds away. The twists, curves and speed of this ride proves you don't need inversions to create an outstanding and top ranking coaster.
Great review Chris, thanks!
It's our favourite so far, but we're still only in the 90s on creds. I also don't know if it'll still be top by the tonne, Voltron is coming.
Voltron is going to be excellent
I’ve never been on it! There are so many parks I would love to visit. That’s a really good looking coaster. Doesn’t look too thrilling just a really fun, fast coaster.
Videos of it definitely don’t do it justice as far as airtime goes
@@yourexperienceguide it looks really good. No major drops etc - it reminds me of icon I can just imagine this being a bit better?
@@CoastersThrillsAndAirtimeHills comparing it to icon isn't easy, went on taron last year and the thing hauls throughout the layout (it in my eye it dosent slow down that much compared to how some people complain), the airtime is really strong compared to icon and most transitions will whip you from either side of your seat, the theming is a bonus, looking round with everything flying by, i loved icon but taron made icon feel like a joke tbh
@@dillybob3248 ah ok I’m just trying to guess what it would feel like ☺️. I’ve not been on Taron. I definitely imagine Taron being better, as I said in my comment.
@@CoastersThrillsAndAirtimeHills Icon is more about the airtime and interactions, Taron is a heavily themed speed machine and the launches are far more powerful
İ've just gone there yesterday (14.1.2024) and my friends didn't really warn me about Taron.
One of them made sure he saw my face during the launch and he said it was just priceless. 😵
We still love Taron, we were just there for Wintertraum and the night rides are amazing!
Seems to be running quite fast for winter! I compared it to the original on-ride video by Phantasialand itself and seems to be about 2 seconds faster. Must have been a great day to ride!
It's an amazing ride. I've ridden Toutatis a few months ago and of course it's the better experience, but Taron is pretty close. The pacing is better and also the theming takes this coaster to another level. I've ridden it yesterday for a few times and even in the cold, Taron won't let you down. So happy, to live nearby.
an awesome ride, the theming really brings it together for me. not ridden any other intamin LSMs yet (hoping batman GCE so curious how they will stack up) but the whole ride felt very cohesive. while i preferred karnan over taron, it's still an elite coaster in my eyes.
So lucky to have this at my home park
Taron got edged out of my top three last year under the combined weight of Kondaa, Zadra and the RtH, but I haven't been on it in a while. I'm due to get back on this year and we'll see how it holds up.
Great video guys. Enjoyed the interviews and footage / editing.
I was disappointed by Taron the first time I rode it, as it is very overhyped. After a few rides as an overall package I agree it is a masterpiece. The second launch up into the waterfall is incredible. The problem is I never fully enjoy the first part as all I want is to get to the second half. The trim brake on one of the final air time hills is very frustrating as well. Great coaster, very significant in the industry in terms of themeing / music as a complete package. I still prefer Black Mamba there, much better forces IMO.
Thank you Matthew, we’ll be doing a few more like this during the season 😃
I think it all depends on your ride preferences. But Taron would rank high for me 'cos it's Maverick on steroids, minus the beyond vertical drop.
I'm glad you made the video.
It’s definitely better than Maverick, I think? 🤔
Thank you 🙏
Still a great coaster. I rode front row in the dark in -5 Wednesday night and it's gone back into my S tier of coasters. The transition not long after the first airtime hill makes you feel as if it's trying to throw you out into Berlin Street 🤣 The theme is probably my favorite at any park in the world, it just sings to my tune.
It’s exceptional in the dark, especially that second launch with the red lighting 🤩
Great coaster still it still on many people's top list
For sure
Taron is cool always will be.. I'm currently waiting for our uber to Universal. Late night last night as in the lucky lepricorn just off idrive until 3am. So I'm tender today. Lol.. Might goto sunspot kissimme tmr.. Is that worth a visit mate?..
Worth having a few hours at both the Fun Spots if the coasters are open.
Enjoy your trip 😄
@@yourexperienceguide Loving it mate. Only 2nd day of 16..Cheaper this time of year.. Cannot wait for a few of these beauties in the dark. I may even ride the Hulk even though it looks terrifying.
How do you have so much time to visit to every them park. Don’t understand 😅😅
it will be also awesome in 2030 and 2040....
Checked today, front row, back row and the middle are still awesome AF 🎉❤
Update; i kept my arms up every time. And i think a hartline roll would have been a nice finale 🤷♂️
Quiet day there today? 🤞🏼
Thank you for watching 😁
@@yourexperienceguide Quite quiet, max we waited for Taron and fly 20 minutes, the rest we waited 5 minutes (Taron, hotel tartuf, mystery casto and mause au Chocolat) or walk on (both winja's (we got to stay seated on the first ride but had to walk around oud for the other track), black mamba, Colorado adventure, geister riska and our second times tartuf and mause)
Since we go twice a year here we didn't want to wait 20 minutes for fly and Taron after our first ride when the rest is basically walk on and there are lots of shows to see. So we only did Taron 3 times and fly once (but we were there on day 2 by coincidence 😍) and saw all the shows. Longest waiting line was parking tickets (30 minutes 😤)
@@HaroldKuilmanyou're so lucky. yesterday (14.1.2024) we do Taron twice and wait for about 50 minute each time. İ guess because it's Sunday.
@@xolang I never go to theme parks during the weekend, just for this reason 😉
IT IS. Rode it last week and for me it is better than Batman and taiga!!
Mainly because I find it snappier
That’s fair enough, I’m excited to do Taiga
@@yourexperienceguide I find it a little overrated, but it transitions in such an elegant way
I feel like it’s slightly overrated . It was the first major thrill coaster I’ve ever ridden and I didn’t think it could get better than this . But after traveling through some parks in Europe it drops more and more in my standings . I still absolutely love it and it’s one of the most rerideable coasters I’ve been on so far but it isn’t world class for me
Whilst I was mildly impressed by Taron when I rode it I thought F.L.Y was a better coaster. It's a good compact ride and the twists and turns and the theming around it are impressive but for me not high on my list.
Honestly? 😮
That’s quite interesting to read, but fair enough 😄
Just thought it wasn't very exciting in the layout and was more impressed by the theming. Whereas F.L.Y was fast, had some unexpected turns and twists and the beginning was innovative. @@yourexperienceguide
Since I've ridden Taiga at Linnanmäki, Taron isn't as good anymore. It is still a fantastic ride though!
Say magic octopus
Why?
It’s funny lol
The theming is what makes Taron good. Without it Taron would be a mediocre experience imo.
Launches and airtime would be good anywhere, but the setting definitely improves the overall experience
