We didnt get this version of the game on the final cut, it was completely reworked like elizabeths face, bookers face, columbia looks different too from the buildings n its denizens, too much other stuff as well. Alot of us fans wanted this version of the game as it looked far more interesting and more immersive to what we got, but the games still great nonetheless. Theres a video called by crowbcat that delves deep into this version of the game it's called "the bioshick we never got" it's very interesting of what happened.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yes it does! The game director talks about it and so does the voice actor of booker DeWitt 'Troy baker'. I recommend giving it a reaction, this game was a true work of art nonetheless playing it felt like a dream and did immerse us into the flying city in the sky, and the story omg the story is so confusing, thrilling, suspenseful and the end will leave u speechless at the edge of your seat with you looking for answers.

Bioshock Infinite is definitely my favorite of the whole series. It had a unique story and the characters were charming and interesting.
As many people have said, this trailer gameplay is very different from the actual one. Designs of characters, some of the scenery and even the mechanics shown in the gameplay trailer is pretty different from the actual game. I believe the story is even tweeked a little from how it was originally suppose to be. Half the things in the gameplay trailer are not in the actual game.

The team had to crunch to get the game out and Ken Levine burnt himself out doing it and had to compromise on his vision several times to get the game done, leaving the game very linear outside of a few open arena's like this and railroaded the whole getting it done Irrational studios is closed now and we'll prolly never get another Bioshock game now.

Even though the game does fall into some archetype clichés, the story and composition of everything is as unique as it is beautiful.
This easily ranks as one of the most beautiful games I've ever played in all aspects (next to something like Detroit: Become Human) for 99.9% of its content. There is one small exception where it failed pretty badly IMO, but that's besides the point.

The story in Infinite is basically:
Main character, Booker DeWitt has to kidnap Elizabeth to repay his debt, so he comes to Columbia, an airborne city. Elizabeth is the daughter of Columbia's dictator/religious leader Zachary Comstock and is meant to take his place once he's gone, (in Comstock propaganda she is called the lamb or sth) but she's basically his prisoner. The pigeon guy is her guardian BTW. Comstock knows that Booker is coming after Elizabeth, so he also makes propaganda against him, calling him "the false Sheppard". Elizabeth can open tears in space-time as you noticed and Booker can obtain powers via drinking potions. Meanwhile, there is a revolutionary guerrilla called Vox Populi that fights to overthrow Comstock, but it quickly turns out their leader isn't much better than him. In the game we see multiple versions of Columbia (e.g. one where Vox Populi succeed in taking the power) and travel between them thanks to Elizabeth powers (but not freely, only when the story requires that).
Now here's the spoiler, so do not read the following words if you're planning to play this:
    Booker is actually Comstock

Bioshock 1 + 2 are set in late 1950 early 1960s in a city under the sea, bioshock infinite is set in 1912 in a flying city both have their own over arching themes on society. Bioshock 1 + 2 is a city based on capitalist ideals but without morality holding you back. Bioshock infinite has nationalism intertwined with cult like religious zealotry underpinning it's society along with racism.
Bioshock infinite has one phrase dominating it though right from the beginning 'bring us the girl and wipe away the debt' other songs leak through from the future as well with a barbershop. Quartet singing 'god only knows....' near the start which I think is another hint to the whole plot of the game

So I'll avoid as much spoilers as much as possible but let you know the mechanics of the world. There's abilities you can get with the bottles you pick up. Like Murder Crows or "the force" like powers. It's well explained in the actual game, but only towards the end. Bioshock is known for a dystopia civilization. Where this Bioshock you have the revolutionaries, the people you saw shooting but they go waaay to far. Like shown here about the execute a postman. There's no good side, and everyone is grey including you. You are paid to free Elizabeth and her powers is more like alternate realities. It gives enough clues and was discussed before the game was released that she can tear things from other realities into existence overriding what's there. It will NOT revive the horse but replace it with a horse from another world she basically stole. Booker, your character, is infamous for getting the job done (no matter how brutal). This was all told before the games release. Lastly the Skyhook was shown here but it's necessary. You didn't seem to notice that the whole city is a sky city. You can see a guy in the trailer asking his wife to jump as the city was falling apart, because she was floating away on a broken part of the city. A lot going on but that's the point of the game, piece together the story yourself.

I stop requesting this because i didnt want to bother or spam you guys this but glad you enjoyed it despite being confused lol
theres another demo which is way different but personally the 2011 demo was my fave and what got me into the bioshock series. The game had a long troubled development, it got scrapped tons of time and when it finally came out it was a bit disappointing (but still a decent game), but yeah all the demos are in a way "false advertising", choices didn't matter, the city wasnt as big, this level never existed in the finale game etc. This is pure speculation but some say the game was scrapped because the developers were way to ambitious with the game that the xbox 360 and ps3 wouldn't be able to handle all the details in the demo, so they had to downgrade it
but still an amazing demo, nowadays games can look like this so its possible that the next bioshock can be just as detailed if not more.
Anyways thanks again for reacting to this :)

Don’t want to go with what’s most popular on our channel or what someone constantly requests. Being thoughtful about not bothering us (although it’s not a bother at all 😉) shouldn’t be punished by not having your request fulfilled. Thanks again. 😊🥳🍾

The video that DND reacted to above IS the final version of the game folks. It is the final character models and the games voice actors. What you are all describing is the video I will link - which is FAR more impressive, and is the dark, creepy masterpiece that got everyone hyped. You will hear the original voice and see the character models, but again, the one up above IS the final game.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Thanks so much for interacting! I was doubting myself based on all the comments even though it’s clearly the new voices and models, if people played the game I don’t understand how so many could make that mistake, but I think its just the public’s desire to share a true story and the story has gained more virality than the game. At 40 years old I had full recollection of the actual trailer the world went crazy about - I was already 30 at the time - I’m feeling like a lot of commenters maybe weren’t old enough at the time to actually have lived though it and now the lore is taking on a life of its own. There were 2 trailers with the original designs - the one I linked was the long version and amazingly well done, and then a short 2-3 min introduction trailer - but the old and new models/voices both had their trailers released in 2011 so it can get hard for people to keep track! Good trailer, but sort of hilarious in that it is almost impossible to determine anything as to the story of the game. My favorite of the Bioshock games, without a doubt. I think it has the best and richest story, and vastly different by virtue of having an actual population in the city. It requires no real prior knowledge of the Bioshock games to play.
And yes, it is difficult to shoot the dudes on the rails while you yourself are gliding along. The game has many chaotic moments.
An over simplification of the situation is: you are sent to retrieve Elizabeth, who has been captive since birth, in a floating city - Columbia, in 1912.
Columbia is sort of a supposed utopian city, run with an iron fist by a man named Comstock, with a white supremacist overtone.
