- This video shows our diagnosis and repair of a 2019 Ford Expedition that was displaying a liftgate or liftgate glass ajar message in the instrument cluster. Also the rear liftgate wouldn't open.The body control module had codes U0230 - Lost communication with Rear Gate Module and B1495 - Hands Free Liftgate Decklid Input Sensor in it. Fuse number 10 in the body control module was blown and it had a short in the rear bumper electrical harness

@CarShopTalk can you please contact me and let me know if you have any similar information for a 2016 Explorer. The liftgate will not open or close. Liftgate afar light is on and I've tried everything I could find online. Fuses are not blown and disconnected the battery. Nothing has helped.
Video is helpful. I have a 2018 expedition where the liftgate opens and closes at random. Sometimes only opens partially and sometimes only closes partially. I will be checking the harness and fuses. I don't have a scan tool that gives me that much information. Do you have links to your scanning tools?
I normally use forscan lite with an obdlink mx+.
Help!! Do you have any similar information for a 2016 Explorer? My liftgate will not open but the ajar message is constantly on. The fuses are not blown. I can't find any info anywhere.

@adanvargas6997 it was a FUSE!!! I tried checking them myself and took many things apart that did not work. I finally gave up and called the Ford Dealer nearest to me. They have a mobile technician who came out, hooked his laptop to it and had the liftgate working in no time. It was a fuse u Der the steering wheel. I believe it was in slot 10 or 11.
