Probably the people who fell flat on their face after doing a drop.
RobSousa yeah probably someone that tried a drop and fell and felt like it as was phils fauly
Looks like 45 losers, whats not to like, its Phil and he is not only a great rider but he has a way of explaining it so even people like me can understand. take care
RobSousa they jealous of the handlebars, not anyone can grow those.
Seth from Seth's bike hacks 😁 (I jest of course)
The production quality of these videos is fantastic! perfect filming, editing, narration and epic riding

I've started to watch your videos and the more I see the more I love all about them; your freakin' skill, the attitude, energy, modesty, being chill, the way you explain stuff, resoursefullness. Keep it up man! :)

Phil, you are the man. Every time I search for something new I'm learning or practicing, I come across a vid you have that covers it from soup to nuts. Thanks for the effort you put into your awesome vids, I've been hammering on my bike as often as possible because of it!
LOVE the detail how Phil explains things.
Phil,
You're a great teacher and your video's continue to help this 56yo mtn bike newb to stay in one piece! Thank you!
I like your way of explanation
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
You and Seth are the best MTB youtubers!!
Love all your videos btw. It's nice to see someone who's both a professional athlete in the sport along with a professional attitude in your tutorials.
Just when I thought your video was helpful, you went and gave us a"banana for scale". You're the man, thanks for a solid tutorial!
I am very new to mountain biking, and thanks to you I learned how to drop properly. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Dude man you are a great teacher and rider man. Just can't stop watching your videos. Your freaking awesome
dude. have just gotten into mtn biking. this is one of the best channels on the interwebz. big thanks for the content.
One of your best videos! Keep them coming and don't be afraid of revisiting old subjects. Some times hearing it in a different way things click.
Another great video with easy to understand pointers that are tied directly to the scene you're watching.
I am pointing my buddies to your sight.
Keep it up Phil.
Very helpful Phil. your videos helped me progress where I normally struggled . Its working progress . You and Seth are brilliant at explaining. All the way from Cape Town. Keep it up!!!!
Love your videos man! Banana for scale is sheer genius!
The best demonstration of drop.
I like that little bit from the vortex pit at santos in the beginning!
wow one of the best explanations I have watched!
Hey Phil, Really appreciate your work. Great information and very down to earth. Thanks
Thanks Phil! Great video as always
watching this videos at home while i recover from AC separation as a result of not knowing how to land jumps. wish i would have practiced per your videos. but will use now! great videos. will tell my friends about your channel
Great explanation Phil, keep up the good work
Great tips. I especially like the "wrong-way" demonstrations along with the "right-way". Some just describe the wrong-way, but you're showing it as well - making the wrongness much more intuitive!
I've lost count of the amount of drop tutorials i've browsed and nobody has once mentioned the rebound setting. I know it's probably a no brainer to more experienced riders but this one piece of advice helped me finally conquer drops! Cheers Phil!
Instruction, demonstration, musication, everything is perfect.
Awesome vids, I can't like them enough! If I ever get half as good as you my life will be complete.
Best tutorials on the web! Thanks Phil!
Thank you Jon for the kind words!
Hey Phil, I'm old school and only recently took up MTBiking. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks.
Excellent Phil, really sensible and useful guide. I've seen quite a few videos on how to manage drops but I think you're one is the one which has made me the most confident for trying the skill out.
They key is to keep your front wheel light. Good luck Toby!
fantastic landscape in the video.
really nice and easy to understand. great job! very helpful!
I thank you good sir.... now I am sharing your video instead of trying to explain.... thanks again.
Best I've seen.
Solid explanation.👍👍
MAN, your stache, it's the best stache. Also, love your videos!
Phil my man your tutorial videos have helped me out so much. I'm 30 years old and am getting back into riding bikes because of my kids.
Your videos are great! You deserve way more subs!
This is the best mtb channel on youtube.
Thank you! This was really helpful.
Clear, informative and to the point. Another good reference video.
Thanks for the kind words!
Great video Phil me and my children are becoming great fans of yours!
Something I found great keeping track of videos I am learning from.
1 open a new doc up label it. Biking. Or whatever you choose.
2 load the youtube vid and copy the title. Now past that in the doc. Hit return. Now go back to youtube and copy the address for youtube that vid is playing on.
3 now paste that into the doc. Bingo you now have a simple way to find exactly what vid you want to watch for learning purposes.
The Program I use instead of a Word doc is OmniFocus. I like the options way better for keeping the information in the order I want.
Every spring i lost the reflex to lock my arms when it drop! Epic🤣
Im 25 and starting out and practicing mtb, this channel and seths bikes hacks have been like my bible, but i really like Phil, he explains things in a way i can visualize, still mtb is scary lol and drops freak me out, but im gonna go and practice with this video and see how i will progress! thanks Phil!!
Thanks, Phil - really useful for newbie like me!!! You may have saved me a trip to the hospital haha
this was condensed and helpful
Awesome Video!!!!Awesome Creation!!!!
Great instructions Phil!
great session!
New video, New music, New mic setting , New channel image, everything is new and beautiful !!!!!
+AlexandreHimself change all the things!
Thank you!!! This helped me!!!
Great video! I've been working on learning this skill. There's not too many of them where I ride, however I want to get into more aggressive riding at bike parks and am determined to learn this! I've done a few, and mentally know the technique, but I find it's now a psychological thing of letting go of the fear and just doing it. I also just watched your Walmart bike video (awesome, you're crazy, btw!), and am now a subscriber :)
I like that tip about not having too fast of rebound. When I first started out, I hit a few drops with way too fast of rebound and I bounced off the landing like I was on a pogo stick.
Nicely done video!
Nice grounds and nice highlighting.
thanks! i was always too afraid to do a drop but i think I'm going to give it a try now. ;)
Just another great video love it thank you!
Dude, thank you so much!
Awesome Phil. I am learning so much
That's the goal, glad you're finding these videos helpful!
Please do rock gardens and steep technical riding! ODB is killing me at highland.
Very good man. A+
Hey Phil I have the same bike as but in blue but my front forks are bent after doing a 8 ft drop with lockout on silly me oh and you got me into mountain biking you are my savior
Another great video! Thanks
You're very welcome, thanks for the feedback.
Great video Phil!
Thanks, Phil. I did the trails in Central Park at highland numerous time yesterday for the first time, and two of the 3 practice drops that look like the ones in this video. Next week I’m going to probably try the big one if I can consistently do the middle one enough instead way that’s I’m not just rolling off of it.
I love your videos sir
Probably the best video I've seen on the subject, wish I'd had this 20 years ago, lol. Of course I learned the hard way by going over the bars a few times and not getting m weight back especially on drops that had a nice lip to kick the back tire up, once even rode a wheelie in the front tire for a good 15 yards on a drop gone wrong in the parking lot where we had a wall built of railroad ties and there was just enough of a lip to kick the rear up. One thing I will say that I think I mentioned before is most every tutorial shows bike setup with the seat way lowered which is great for bmx style riding jumps, etc but when you're doing 30 mile xc rides usually you have to have your seat up in the pedaling position and often unless you know the trail these drops come up quickly where you have to decide can I make it or not with my seat all the way up. With the seat up position anything higher than 3' can be really hard on the body, I had my lower back hurting once from a small jump where i landed with both tires at the same time and bottomed my suspension hard. Just curious, on long rides in varied terrain do you generally keep your seat that low? I know some guys do but usually in time it wears them out or they have sore knees from the compromised pedaling position. Again, thanks for a great video Phil, I always enjoy them, maybe will even bump into you at Santos this winter.
Dropper posts! More XC riders and even CX racers are starting to use them. They are great for riding because they allow you to pedal efficiently, and then at the tap of a button change into extreme mode. I was a long time dropper post hold out, and now I'm a huge advocate for them. They completely change the way you ride.
Thanks buddy!!
Great video, you explain the techniques very well. Subbed.
Thank you Jason, glad to have you aboard!
Very nice tutorial👍👍
more videos please ,,, grate video
How to do drops without ending up in the hospital! love it! lol
Awesome video phill cheers from tassie
Awesome skills and fantastic video with great editing!
Thank you man!
i can relate to the start of this
Nice videos. Greetings from the Philippines. :)
I'm lucky to have a perfect drop training spot close to me, between 2 trees to a slope without any gaps
Yep, glad I'm working on my manual and bunny hop this Summer! Seems like most things require some level of skill in these areas. Thanks Phil for another great video :-)
I actually put the manual part in with you in mind. Don't feel like you need to hold a manual to drop. The body position used to lift the front wheel is the manual element that is important.
Thanks! :-)
Thanks om .
Nice video Phil very helpful
Thanks Sascha :]
Nice tutorial!😀
Nice 🤩
Just found your channel, great videos pal 👍
Thanks Steve, really appreciate that.
awesome
Rigid - can't help myself
Great video thanks.
I like it :)
I love your “banana scale” Phil! I look forward the progressive build of my bananas!!
Nice! I was actually hitting those drops yesterday (@ Santos) Love your channel.
What a coincidence. Such a great place, and thank you!
thanks for making the nice instructional videos, they are really helpful. can you make a few more sometime on drops on real trails, skinny board & log riding, jumps, riding rock gardens (uphill and downhill), and bunny hops on trail terrain, like logs, etc. thnx.!
Super!
Thanks much for Subtitles.
No problem, glad you found them useful!
So detailed (y)
Nice! You`ve already improved my bunny-hop, let`s see if this one save some helmets of this poor XC rider... kkk
High seats are always challenging...
Santos Vortex 🤘🏽my back yard
HA the banana scale love it!!
Thanks Paul!
Not needing to hold a manual - what a relief! (still working on that)
That's why I included that piece.
