- After a lifetime of service providing milk on a family farm, Maybelle was given a second chance. Instead of sending her to slaughter, the family donated her to the Gentle Barn to live out the rest of her life serving the community in a much different way. Though, her cries revealed an unexpected twist to an already endearing story. Grab some popcorn and tissues and get ready for an emotional rollercoaster.

Cows are excellent loving mothers. The fact that she remembered her baby left at the farm and cried so much for him proves there's a strong bond. I'm so happy they get to live together.

omg, this made me tear up. You can see their love for each other. The mother and child bond is strong.

Wonderful for Maybelle, her baby and the little one on it's way! Only wish there were more people like you that felt the way you do. It's a heart wrenching sight to see a mother cry for her baby. Although I have been a vegetarian for over 43 years, my brother really enjoyed his animal meals. Driving down a country road 3 or 4 years back, we witnessed a severely distressed cow crying out for her baby, racing back and forth and around the perimeters of the field. Crying so pitifully, searching, unrelenting for her child. My brother stopped eating meat that day and has since become a advocate for the animals. God Bless You!!!
Forcing a cow to conceive is animal abuse, as long as people drink the milk that WASNT INTENDED FOR THEM -. these lovely animals will suffer !
Heartbreaking that they can take these babies from their mothers,I watched a shortened version of this story on The Dodo and have viewed it quite a few times and it never gets any easier to watch,I'm glad to know the full story of this Mother and baby,and a big Thankyou to you good people for your great work.
This is such a touching story, we are not really milk drinkers and rarely eat beef but seeing videos like this really change the way I think and for this reason could cut out dairy and meat for our family. We have used milk plenty of times for cooking/baking but I am sure I can maybe find some good alternatives. if anyone has alternatives let me know please. I know that drinking milk is honestly not necessary for humans, there are other ways you can get calcium for strong bones.. did you know even some vegetables can give you that, personally I know some greens can.
www.vegan.com/milk/ has some info. Many non dairy milks are fortified with calcium. Personally I've been using Orgain recently as it has extra protein.
Research milk and osteoporosis! Its actually a major cause of it! Most plant milks have more calcium (and healthier calcium) in them as compared to dairy milks :)
My family drinks cashew milk...creamy and delicious. Even the little ones understand the importance of not drinking cows milk. There are so many other choices, too, almond, almond/casher, coconut....
I use Coconut milk for cooking, every time.
Steph S I think broccoli has calcium. For alternatives to cow milk, you can drink soy, almond or hazlenut milk.

i knew their was a reason i dont eat veal but i did not realise how cruel the milk industry i think maybe time to give up milk

I could not quit crying. I'm switching to almond milk today. No more cheese either. I don't know why .. I've had farm animals...Horses, goats, pigs and sheep.. n but I have never had any experience with dairy cows or beef steer.. but for some reason I just find cattle so... Like I can just sense a connection.. I know that sounds so stupid.. I don't know what. I .. this has litterly broken my heart.

Cattle are very Zen. I raised up 2 dairy steers just to enjoy them enjoying their lives. They are 9 this year and quite spoiled rotten.

Another reason dairy cows are my favorite animals! They are caring and loving mothers to their calves. I’m glad you made those rescues, and Maybelle and Miles’ rescues are my favorite animal rescues!

Where is part 2??!! I wanna see the cow with her 2 lil ones! She will have her own lil family plus more! What pride and love for this cow. I know what it feels like to watch a mommy cow raise her own lil ones after you saved her life. Cows know who their family are.

This is the first time I've searched out a story from a Winderbot video. I want to believe it's Divine intervention from the beginning.
My Uncle has 4 Dairy farms in NZ, i love working there when on holidays. He is an open minded man of God who appreciates my passion. I've been looking forward to presenting various seaweed diets that reduce burping (methane gas) on my next visit. I've never stayed during calving an ashamedly hadn't thought of the consequences. I want to thank You & those that have lead me to this knowledge an awareness.

We don't need milk. Almond, coconut, cashew are good alternatives for milk. Never have trouble substituting in recipes.
I think not buying any tye of milk is best not to buy just to be on the safe side for the cows. Humans are sneaky and want the money. I hear the milk is even is your bath soap and hair shampoos amd conditioners

Bless you people omg. I used to have a cow of my own and I know how sad this is. I grew up on a hobby farm and I treated that cow like she was my child. She was a beautiful Jersey cow. I showed her at my local fair and I won second place. I absolutely love cows so bless you people for treating them the way they should be treated.

Oh I am in tears. What you do is so amazing! Just tears! I was walking a clients dog a few night ago quite a drive out of town. Across the river there is a dairy farm and all I could hear for the entire time I was walking this dog was the cows mooing across the river. It was a sad sound to hear. I couldn't see them but I could hear them....

This is beautiful .. .y mind has changed so much towards animals and watching videos like this . We have 2 cockapoos and we luv them so much I have been watching videos of other animals and my heart has been touched I have a new respect for other animals
