I just discovered this album. Only LP that I've never heard before, for whatever reason. It's so different... and it just crushes me. Hits hard, makes me sad. It really sounds like a "goodbye letter" from Chester 😢. Nevertheless, I ❤ it. It's beautiful.

And also, we accept anyone. Because Linkin Park taught us that. To accept everyone as they are. No matter what.
I remember that dark day. I went to another country to collect money for the surgery. Before I got there, my employer quit. I was looking for a new job to be able to return to the country.
That day my glasses broke without which I can hardly see anything, when I reached for the phone, I saw the news about Chester. It broke me more than my fate.
I was on the hour-long bus, absent. I remember saying "he's just a singer". For me, it was someone close to me, someone, who saved me from suicide many times.
I made a promise to myself then that I would never do it. That I will be strong, that I will do it for the LP.
It helps to this day.

It still hurts, I miss him everyday. People dont understand what Linkin Park, What Chester did for generations of us. Plagued with mental illness, he touched us, gave his voice to the voiceless and made us feel heard. Someone says I was sad too when I heard of his passing. He didn't pass away, he suffered so much he took his own suffering and ended it. I'm not sad, I'm devastated! I still cry, a lot. There is an unprecedented void, a hole inside that can never be filled from Chester's place where he resided and lived rent free in my mind, my heart and soul.
I can actually say that I'm one step closer to edge... but I'm already broken. 😞

I struggle with this album a lot, I have to admit. I only listened to this album no more than 5 times.
Just the actual track list names says it all. Nobody can save me, sharp edges, one more light, halfway right, sorry for now. Heavy, Talking to Myself Battle of Symphony, invisible, good, goodbye. I can make a poem with all this tracklist names.

It kind of feels like Chester is really saying Goodbye. It's sad, tragic. That's why I cannot listen to this album a lot. It is like Chester is telling the fans this is going to be it. Maybe not intentional but that's what it seems to me.

Growing up with divorced parents, one father is a murderer, the other is a psychopath, questioning my own purpose or reason for being here, mother is set to drink herself to death, friends are all gone. Either betrayed or moved away. Sometimes life really doesn't seem like it's worth it. One slap in the face after another. But finding Linkin Park in Jr high turned all that around. Hybrid Theory and Metorea saved my life.....really REALLY wish I could have givin that back to you Chester. You saved my life. Wish we could have saved yours.

I know the only people who were truly here for this album in 2017 were the true diehard LP fans.
But this is seriously my favorite of all their albums! The lyrics and messages behind every song and how the songs are all clearly about mental health...in retrospect sting a lot more but the songs are all just so good and so powerful. This album does not and likely never will get the respect it deserves. Cannot believe we still live in a world without chester 😢

I still remember how this album was half loved and half hated for being "pop" and not at all heavy and i feel guilty to be part of the hating group. I was young and didn't listen to other genres yet at the time. but I've loved this album since. we miss you chester
Album is still azz. I mean look at all the demos from LPU, all the releases and look at what they do live. This is the worst of the worst. They basically are writing about the same thing. The sound is different but it's the same concept of you will. At least A thousand suns was more of a like Great full and happy album. This is just the weakest and lamest. The signs were there about Chester. He has never disses a fan ever in all his career, and no one noticed 😖.
They could have make a Fold album a full on Rap album or a Classical album . But they went this way. Rare Mike L

How many times can you write " I am depressed" no Wonder the guy cut himself 😐. Go listen to Dead by Sunrise there are happy songs / Love songs. I say it's on the bands hands what happened , there is a reason that chick from Evanescence doesn't write about the same stuff in the first album.

After Chester was gone I felt so connected to this album in so many ways with my many battles with depression and anxiety and trying to live a happy life. Now, my fiance recently committed suicide and I feel like he felt this album deeper than I realized. I love this album more than any of their others and even more so now that I connect it to my love. RIP to all the good souls who took their lives before they were supposed to leave us ❤️

Happened to me with the last Album from "Chris Cornell" - HIGHER TRUST !! Both, very good friends, and get out from Live in the same Year . Chester on the Birthday from Cornell . I dont want say "more" . Its tragic and painfully . And be carefull, not dig deeper in this "rabbithole".
The album closes with Sharp Edges. An epitaph.

In my opinion, most of the ugliness is largely innocent, ultimately. Most don't choose to be ugly at their core, even if that's the path they choose sometimes.
Life is not black and white. There are no clear solutions. We're all just trying to get it right, and we're sorry when we let others down.
As a collective we cause so much of our own pain. It's truly sad.

How is it possible to miss someone you've never had a conversation with as much as I do?
I was in high school when they debuted and their music resonated with something within me. Every new album came out at just the right time to express how I was handling life or how I wanted to handle it.
It's fitting this album is so different from their first one, who stays the same after 17 years? Similar issues, but the wisdom inside to view them differently, handle them differently. At its core, all of their albums are still Linkin Park ❤🩹

I didn't listen to this album since Chester passed away, now only I started listening to it and I got to say its a masterpiece on its own way, very will done and with deep meanings in each song. Much love LP and you will always be the GOAT band.

Hi, I'm from Russia, so I'm afraid I might say something wrong.
I listened to these songs as a 5-6-year-old girl. I listened with my parents because they were their fans.
But one terrible day, I came home and found out the terrible news. We were all crying that day. After that, we just didn't have the energy to listen to Linkink Park.
Only yesterday my father and I decided to listen to these songs. Now knowing from the translation I hear from quite differently. I am very glad that since childhood I was taught to listen to masterpieces.

Idk why so many people hate this album, maybe they are just a bunch of fricks that were angry at LP because the songs from this album aren't metal-y. This album packs so much emotions in the lyrics of the songs, honestly I love it just as much as I love the other albums

I struggle with depression and I hear so much pain and loneliness in all the album. The music could be light and pop-like but the lyrics are so dark in my opinion... For me, it's farewell letter of Chester and noone prove me I'm wrong.
Ironically, this album is one of few things which can comfort me in my darkest days when nothing's working.
I feel so sorry Chester's light did go out. Despite this I can understand how bad he could feel. I always will remember about him [*]

They went from angsty teens, (Hybrid Theory and Meteora). They've changed to more mature and straight through hard rock sounds and people were mad. (Minutes to Midnight). They've changed more to experiment and fuse other genres and people are still mad (A thousand Suns). They've bring back their old style but they want to add something more electronic. People didn't like Lp to do such so poppy sounds. (Living Things). They've made another metal album but fused with punk and people were still mad because it doesn't sounds like the two old albums. And they've made the most painful lyrics songs in their latest album and people were so mad that it's pop.(One More Light). You know, it's natural when a band changed. They still got hated when they continue to make more albums that sounded their previous two albums. Instead of that, they decide to change rather than wasting years of making the same stuffs. Can't you imagine how many demos they've made and got exhausted on that?
I wish Chester could see how many people this album has saved people from letting their own light go out too soon....thank you Chester and Linkin Park for the years of inspirational music and for all the hope you have given to your fans 🤘🏼😊 ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I did the same thing! :D when the album came out, I was like "This sounds like Rocket league meets Mylie Cyrus". . . and I completely skipped this one. Just decided to have a listen today, and honestly, I can see why people might've liked this. Its missing the raw anger and power of previous albums (Especially Hunting Party) but as a standalone peice, its actually got a really nice message about never giving up and pushing through the pain to find the light at the other side, which has been a central theme to Linkin Park since day one.
Its just reflective of where the band has come emotionally as they continued to grow and experience life.
And from that standpoint, they did a really good job here.

Hi, ParkNasty! I feel ya there...been there and done that. Try finding a Nutrition Response Testing Chiropractor. I had a very hard time 6 years ago and no MD's could tell me what was wrong to the tune of $5,000.00 wasted on visits and tests that went nowhere. Then I found a Nutrition Response "alternative Dr" and my life changed for the better! One visit and I was told the problem. 6 years later I am doing FANTASTIC. Take Care!
