    BM3 is a mobile tuning software which you can use to remap your BMW at home. In today's video I remap my M140i for the very first time using the Stage 1 file on 93 octane. BM3 is compatible with WIndows and Mac OS for laptops, and it is also compatible with Android/iOS devices
    BM3 is avaialble for any FXX and GXX series of BMW therefore it doesn't matter whether you have an M140i, M240i, M135i, M2, M3 or M4 - there will be support for your vehicle. You can either use a laptop, or your mobile phone (with their OBD wi-fi wgent) to flash your car at home, within 20 minutes.
    Stay tuned for my "first drive and reaction" on the Stage 1 BM3 M140i - it is AMAZING!

      Hi Just The Driven, is using the BM3 tune the same as taking my M140 to a car performance shop for a tune, like same results/ customisation. Do the performance shop use BM3 or something different? Thanks.

    • @JustTheDriven
      @JustTheDriven  Před 3 lety

      Almost identical to 90% of places you'd take a car to. A tuning file (specific to car/engine/fuel) uploaded to the car. You can also request custom tunes through BM3 for an additional cost, and they'll work on your car remotely sending/receiving logs etc.
      Customisation wise you can go as fast/slow as you like. Starring with Stage 1 OTS, Stage 1 E30, Stage 2 OTS, Stage 2 Custom etc etc. Once you've unlocked the map packs, you can have any tune you like providing you have the right hardware and fuel.

    Thanks for the useful video!
    I want to flash my 440i and I have the following question:
    I'm mostly interested on the Stage 1 map for the 98 RON (the same one you flashed) but if it is possible I wouldn't like to use the 98 RON petrol all the time (which is bloody expensive here in Greece!) There are times that I'm travelling with family etc. and I don't really need the extra power (while saving some money from the cheaper fuel won't do me any harm...)
    So the question is what happens if you use 95 RON petrol while having the 98 RON map?? Do you you do any harm to the engine (which I definitely mind) or you just get reduced power -but still a bit better than the original (which I don't mind at all...)
    I guess that if there's any danger of damage I'll have to remap it everytime I want to change fuel quality, or just stick with one map and the relevant RON fuel...
    Thanks in advance for your reply!

    • @JustTheDriven
      @JustTheDriven  Před 3 lety +1

      My advice would be to flash the 95 RON file initially if that's the fuel you're going to use, simply because there is an element of dilution if you're changing fuel quite often. On the 98 RON file the car will request higher boost targets and run slightly higher timing which is safe with higher octane, it you were to use a lower RON on that file it may present some issues. So for peace of mind, and the safety of your car, flash the 95 RON file, as you'll still have s lot more power than stock 👍

    • @alexringb
      @alexringb Před 3 lety

      @@JustTheDriven Makes sense! To be honest I intend to buy the whole bunch of maps anyway, so I could try both the 95 and 98 file (with the corresponding fuel of course each time) and decide myself if the difference in performance makes up for the difference in fuel price...
      Thanks a lot again!

    By doing this will the dealership not be able to tell it’s been mapped? I want to get BM3 but don’t want any problems when I come to sell and return to standard??

    • @JustTheDriven
      @JustTheDriven  Před 4 lety +1

      They can if it's left mapped whilst in, the big thing that tempted me towards this is that you can revert it to stock & relock the DME, so if a dealer plugs it in, no tampering shows up.
      If you leave the Stage 1/2/2+ file on when you take your car in, they'll be able to see it's not standard. It takes 5 minutes (at the most) to reflash to stock and lock the DME, and another few minutes to reapply your modified file.

      More functionality on the BM3 over JB4 for the 140i, and yes he did fit the JB4 on my R. I have no doubts that the JB4 is very good for the B58, but the BM3 allows for custom tuning, individual settings and has loads of different maps to choose from as you get more for the car

    • @JustTheDriven
      @JustTheDriven  Před 4 lety

    • @relaxationguru3805
      @relaxationguru3805 Před 4 lety

      Cheers mate, im not massively looking for more speed but just more crackles in the exhaust, bcos of the work from pcw the crackles sound a lot better when i turn traction off, i mainly just want them to be more frequent as they only happen for the first 2 mins of when i start driving, but if i adjust them to be mire aggressive with the stage 1 map then hopefully in sport+ they always happen

    • @JustTheDriven
      @JustTheDriven  Před 4 lety

      I would imagine so mate. The way you can control burbles on BM3 is great, it's a slider from 1-10 for both aggressiveness and duration, you can alter it so it only burbles above a certain RPM too 👍
