I'd like to point out it's not only addicts or religious people who avoid drinking, but also people who just don't like it. I don't like drinking, because it tastes gross and makes me sleepy. Just why?
Heartburn
Abstersroxx seriously. Like, I'm sorry I don't need it to have fun and I'd prefer it to be sick and hating life in a few hours. Smh.
Abstersroxx i made my boyfriend stop because i didnt like him drinking. its a waste of money and bad for you. he's way healthier now and saved a lot of money so i can finally meet him for the first time after being with him for 2 years
exactly
yeah exactly, for me it just doesn't make me feel good for whatever reason, I feel ill 95% of the times I drink so there's just nothing fun or enjoyable in it.
I hit my breaking point on this once and said:
There are 50 people in this room doing something I'm not doing yet I'm perfectly comfortable. You see _one_ person not doing what you're doing and are uncomfortable enough to make an issue of it. What does that say about you?
This is the perfect response. Very well put!
"There are 50 people in the room that are wearing clothes yet I'm perfectly comfortable being naked around them. You see one person being naked and are uncomfortable enough to make an issue of it. What does that say about you?"
Well it doesn't really apply everytime.
Harzburgitic Why? It's the majority to wear clothes as well as it is the majority to drink at a party.
No. I have no idea what kind of logic had lead you to that conclusion.
Nekrochomikon8 The reason why your logic with the naked people doesn't really work is because alcohol and nudisism are both looked at as negative things. (from how I understood it) The original post is referring to a sober person feeling comfortable being surrounded by something negative (for lack of a better word). And those negative people don't feel comfortable around the positive person and they want him to fit in and be negative. Your example by having a room full of clothes people and one naked person is putting one negative person in a room full of positive people who want the megative person to do something positive. Which is the opposite of the original post. Sorry for my bad explanation, but I hope you still understand what I'm trying to say.
"Don't be boring"
Says people who require alcohol to have fun
Thank you! I already have a drunk personality so I don’t even wanna know what I’m like with alcohol in my system 😂😂
@Ebony Addison i bet you smoke yourself hypocrite
@Zelda Ray
Stop wasting your time trolling and try to do something actually productive. The Internet is not for trolls like you.
Dragon7ly
I can take any opinion, but she said that you need alcohol to have fun, but really, that’s not true. I just don’t get why poisoning yourself and going ape shit throwing up and getting wasted as shit is considered “fun”. To me, that sounds very unpleasant.
But if you want to drink poison and get wasted, go ahead. More power to you. I could care less about what you do with your body. But please don’t spread misinformation about alcohol, because we don’t want to be dragged down to your level. We already have enough alcoholics in the world, and we don’t need more.
Dragon7ly
I didn’t say that I was better than you. Where did I say that? XD
Learn to read, pal. Let me reiterate: I don’t have a problem with people drinking, but my pet peeves are that drinkers WON’T accept the fact that I don’t drink. I’ve seen many people drink until they get drunk and wasted, and I just don’t want to go down that path.
I’m not forcing you to stop alcohol, I’m just asking you to accept that I don’t drink, and that’s all I want. It’s just my personal preference. This is another reason why I don’t like the Western culture. Besides, there are MANY ways to have fun without alcohol. You can read a book, play video games, go to an amusement park, go out with friends, etc.
I don’t drink alcohol because I want to live longer and have a great life. Alcohol, for me, is ONLY used for cooking recipes, because at that point, all the alcohol has been vaporized.
Drunk culture is *SUCH* a problem.
But when you tell people that, you're a weirdo. Smh
This reminds me of a friend who often drives drunk and then I wonder why I'm still friends with her. I despise the idea of driving drunk; such a selfish act. But if I confront her (about anything) she will brush it off. Makes me mad.
@@amy-bethtaylor2656 From my experience. Never. And i mean NEVER have friends that put you and others in danger. Dont get me wrong i dont want to tell you what to do, just speaking from experience. Have a nice day/night
@@ivagrujic248 No I totally agree with you hun! I should speak with her and see if she can wake up about the situation. If not, it's better not to consider her a friend, unfortunately. Thanks for your constructive feedback! :)
@@amy-bethtaylor2656 you should probably signal her to authorities if necessary. I really despise drunk drivers, sorry.
@@JadaKingdom971 No need to apologize. Of course ❤❤. Wise advice.
I can't drink yet but I'll never drink because my dad was a severe alcoholic and it just brings bad memories and what if I become like that? So no thanks.
Exact same. I'm glad someone feels this way too, a lot of children of alcoholics also severely start drinking, but there is an oppisite to that too!
Lauren good 👍🏼
Lauren Literally me. I swear. Why do I need to give people another reason?
plot twist: youre not youre dad & youre in control of yourself
turntrie this is true, but growing up that way would of still been unappealing and sill make the idea not worth it.
"live a little" "I'LL LIVE LONGER!" ahhah best
Amber P. does ir matter to live few more years when youre an old shit and u cant do anything
edga truth tho. Rather have good years younger than more years older. Every year younger is worth 5 years when you're older
Michael 2715 That's not what you'll think when you're older.
Lea Kenny at least ill die with no regrets and fun memories
But that's the point. One does not need alcohol/drugs to have fun times.
"Why don't you drink?"
1. I don't like the taste of alcohol very much.
2. I know how to have fun without needing to drink.
Same
@Zelda Ray I can counter at least with one of your argument. The other don't see it as a counter argument.
1 Yup, I tried, didn't like it.
2 I don't really have more fun when I eat ice cream. I get humiliated everytime.
Camilla Olsen finally! someone said it
Zelda Ray
If you want to drink, go ahead. I could care less about what you do. Just stop trying to spread misinformation about it. We don’t want you to drag us down to your level.
I love the taste, it’s just that I dislike the feeling of getting too tipsy. So I tend to not drink much and only on special occasions usually
Reasons why I personally don’t drink:
1. I don’t like the taste of alcohol
2. I don’t like the smell of alcohol
3. I don’t like the idea of me being unable to control my body and say/do something stupid that I will regret the next day.
4. I don’t want to get addicted to it
5. I’m scared that I would get taken advantage of if all of my friends were drunk. (I’m usually the one who has to take care of my friends)
6. I don’t want to damage my liver.
You practice totalism!
*Same* Also 7. We just don't like alcohol and passing out.
every. single. one. YES.
@@_InsertName_ will someone admit 8. i don't drink because i don't like someone that drinks ?
I don't drink because Allah says don't drink.

CourtneyMarie 6661 omg yes!!! it's like I'm having fun and I will remember this tomorrow
Maryvera Horsefall exactly! and no hang over! we're a rare breed, us non drinkers that still have fun.
you know what sucks? when you are sober and dance like a crazy person and people assume that you must be high on ecstasy -.-
Cygnus I love festivals but people don't believe me when I say I'm sober because I dance like a lunatic X'D
Rin615
Have the same problem i dance a lot and have lots of fun when going out but they al act seprizes and don't belive me. Or say there proud of me. i hate the last one the most beceause there's lituerly nothing to be proud of. The people i go out with know i never had problems with alcohol or have a hard time seeing every one drinking I mean they know I don't mind. while others don't get prazed but have a reason to be.
I don't drink. Never have, never will. Drugs and alcohol do not appeal to me.
Alcohol = drug
I know but generally when I refer to alcohol as a drug, the uninformed masses of the internet go mental like "ALCOHOL ISN'T A DRUG", so now I just separate the two.
tforceraven girl u have a fair point. totally agree
techfan42 being sober does not make you unattractive, and you do not need alcohol to become attractive. I'm female and I'm sober, and personally I find being sober an attractive quality, maybe purely because it's something I can connect with, or maybe because I like a man who stands by what he believes or knows to be right for him. It's not to say I find people who drink unattractive, not at all, but someone who knows drinking is not for them, and stands by it, that's pretty attractive.
tforceraven same
As a person who has never consumed alcohol, and intends to never do, the most annoyed I've become is when people don't believe that I won't start drinking at some point. It's like "Oh, you're gonna have a drink one day, and then you're going to like it and you'll just start doing it". But I don't WANT to like it, stop trying to push it on me! Luckily, I'm way too stubborn to listen to any of those people
Always remember that the people who try to force it on you are usually miserable and/or insecure. They want to drag you down to their level because misery loves company. I've genuinely had someone ask me how I can be happy without it.
The simple answer to this is to surround yourself with people who are happy and secure in themselves already. Then they won't care if you drink or not.
It’s actually amazing to see pple like you who doesn’t drink whole it’s something normal in their society which can be very difficult to not do it.
Surprise, Surprise coz I never in my life thought there are some Nonmuslim who can control themselves and not drink it at all. 😱 OMG
The same is here! Where can meet a guy who does like alcohol the same like me?

My ex was the same way
Thank god he is your ex.
what an ass
what a dumbass, glad he's an ex
@jim taylor not drinking isn't dull or joyless?
Or worse... when people assume you were a drinker, became an alcoholic and then quit. No. Some of us just never took to drinking. The concept of getting drunk was never appealing to me and it taste terrible.
Equally, some of us drank moderately, and then quit for reasons unconnected to alcoholism.
Dymond Kitty Amen brother
It also doesn't mean we are saints who take no drugs and don't like to party.. I get just as smashed as the next person.. just don't like drinking.. *shocker*
I'm 31 and never been drunk. It's just not for me. Drunk people annoy the shit out of me when they're drunk and talk BS and when they're hungover and complain about it.
But how do you know it's not for you if you've never been drunk before? XD
I'm not stupid, I see what it does to people. I don't need to set myself on fire to know it's not for me.
+brammatie1 there's plenty of idiots out there who do stupid shit for fun that I don't need to try to know it's not for me. Fallacy back at you.
yeah, they all do stupid shit when they're drunk. It applies to everyone who has ever been drunk. Sort out your fallacy dude!
sweetkorshka I've only been drunk once, coincidentally less than a month ago (on Thanksgiving.)
I'm not sure what you would consider to be stupid behavior, but from my opinion I don't believe I did anything stupid. The worst thing was that I couldn't get in the car correctly, but it was funny for everyone who was watching, and still brought laughter for future conversations. It took away my coordination for sure, but I wasn't compelled to do anything bad.
The whole night, I just listened to music, had some nice conversations, played with some kids, and dance to a song or two. The little kids were the best part. It started off with one of them tickling me out of nowhere. I declared revenge would follow, and later tickled him back. I played catch with several of them, and then they started to tackle me. I had 5 kids doggy piling on top of me at one point. It was a lot of fun!
I can't say with absolute certainty that this wouldn't have happened if I weren't drunk. However, I have severe anxiety and the thought of that happening again while sober, in front of so many adults I didn't know, seems frightening. I would have probably been too embarrassed and self-conscious to be playing around with the kids so much. (Kids don't give me anxiety, it's teens and adults that do.)
But the alcohol made me go in a laugh-mode. I thought everything was fun / funny. I didn't even think or worry about the adults present.
And one of the bigger noticeable differences was this: On all other holidays or get-togethers, I always want to leave as soon as possible. But this time, I stayed for hours and didn't want to leave. It's actually shocking. But, I wouldn't say that was the drinking. It's definitely because of the kids. However, would I have played with them so much if sober? A little bit maybe, but definitely not in the same way. If I visualize it happening again now, but without the drinks, I'd like tickle the little guy back a bit but then turn around awkwardly to see if any of the adults were watching, being fearful of them. I can't see myself shouting revenge, but I can see myself going inside and watching SpongeBob with them at least.
For those who say “You are no fun” if someone doesn’t drink, let me tell you that we have more fun watching people being drunk while WE are sober, that’s way more funny than actually being drunk haha
And it's funnier to be able of walking back home without the risk of passing out on the street or being involved in a car accident
Nah, drunks are annoying af when you are sober. Soooooooooooo glad I'm completely sober.
Omg yes! I can relate to that! I thought the same thing :)
*me completely losing my mind when someone drinks (we're not even talking about someone being drunk) and trying to jump out the window to escape* i wish
I mean you have a point and I can relate to it

Age limit to drink is 21 here
I would say " to get my driver's license, that is a lot more useful"
-Why don't you drink?
-Because it tastes awful, and it feels like something that really shouldn't be going down.
-You just haven't found your drink.
-I've tasted wine, white, red and pink, tequila, congnac, whyskey, beer, local liquors, rum, gin, mezcal, pulque, sake, and even something I believe was illegal, all in different price points and brands, aone and mixed, never wanted more than a sip. So I just came to the conclusion that I don't like alcohol, thanks.
wtf? illegal? hahahahahah
DarkPock omg hahaha I hear that so much. I will like a drink that doesn't taste like alcohol and doesn't have any side effects... let me just go down to Coles and get a 2L coke for 90cents which I can have the whole night while you spend $12 on a single drink XD

Aro & Monsuuni cider is fine but it tastes way better if its alcohol free XD
I have gotten laughed at by bartenders for not drinking. If 90% of your family have had issues with drinking, then why even start?
Taylor R.S good craic
even my dad had a liver problem because of it
According to my mom. My dad and his side of the family spent most of the wedding depressed while my mom and her side of the family enjoyed themselves.
Same here since my grandpa from my mom's side were heavy drinkers that led to most of them suffering severe health issues or died. My grandpa suffered nerve damage to his legs so he has to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Because of this, my mom chose to never drink like her dad and my dad never liked alcohol in general. Personally, I see alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, and drugs (aside for marijuana and other drugs that help people with medical issues) useless and just a waste of money.
Same here.

That's what I used to say when I was 13 and butthurt. I learned later that I actually need it to have fun at parties, because it fixes the social anxiety problem. Unfortunately I'm sort of an alcoholic now, so fuck me

Plus that would violate the Hippocratic Oath
I told a doctor once I drink only occasionally, but when I do i might go through a two liter carton of wine in two days. Later when I changed doctors (for unrelated reasons) I got my records and found he had written "drinks two liters a day". And before anybody says so, yes I know I'm an alcoholic. I knew it then too but wasn't prepared to stop. But he made it out to be much worse than it was.

If you don't want to go anywhere there won't be booze.
If you drink before you leave the house.
If you never had "just one" in your life. EVER. lol.

Jmo.
Not the docto, but i had to get an official mediacal test for a course, and the options to " how often you drink" were +1 a day, 1 a day, several times a week, etc and the last one was 1 a month. There was no less frecuency than that as an option..i was tempted to add a " once in every red moon" option, but instead left it empty and told the doctor i just don't drink except in very rare occasion one single piña colada, but it's usually like once a year or so, because is only in summer and only if i go to a chill out which i don't do so often. So she just made a line over the option to indicate " doesn't drink"
27 years old, (Canadian, so I’ve been legal since 18). Never tasted alcohol, smoked anything, etc, in my life. I went to a bar once, did not consume anything, just went to play pool with a few pals. Rhanna Russell if you don't like the taste of alcohol, you're drinking the wrong thing.
LemonZeppelin that's sort of like saying "if you don't like prostate exams, you haven't found the right finger"
janelle s It's not, because different types of alcohol taste different.
I think the worst one is "Drink this, it's water..." when it clearly is vodka
Therefore you shouldn't accept a drink from an unknown source
It doesn't have to be an unknown source
At our school trip there were 30 of us in one room and 5 of us weren't drinking
A friend of mine was quite drunk and came to me with something and said it was coca cola
She knew that I don't want to drink and I reminded her of that and told her that I can smell the alcohol and she crying because "I don't trust her enough to try her drink and I think she'll poison me"
Luckily, another friend (also drunk) came to us and told her to calm down and that he'll make me split the drink with him
When she left he threw the shot in the sink and told me not to worry about it
I'm forever thankful to him for that because if she continued pushing it would end ugly and we wouldn't be friends anymore
water, vodka, whats the difference
@@marlena2535 Frankly, I don't understand why you stayed friends with that girl. It may not have escalated past that but it was still a betrayal of trust when she tried to trick and then outright pressure you to drink it.
Only an idiot would waste vodka on someone that doesn't even want it
I really needed this, the hardest part about me choosing to live a life without alcohol is to find other people who have the same view point, I've walked away from so many friends and toxic people because all they can think about is looking forward to getting drunk on the weekends, I've been put down so many times for being "lame" and I felt guilty for "ruining a night" for people who wanted to go out.
Not wanting to slowly poison yourself is a good goal to have in life.
Do a "Things not to say to someone who doesn't wear make up" xD
Yakumoki the golden sentence "you would look nice with makeup".....what am I now then? Frankenstein monster?
Hahaha yes! And the "You will look less tired" oh thanks
YAAASS! I've always hated makeup. It made me feel fake. I like my imperfections. I always get, "You'll change your mind." or "You will when you get married." Why? If my husband is fine with me and no make up before marriage, then he'll be fine with it afterward. ^-^
Yakumoki Yes please 😀
On the opposite spectrum, do a "things not to say to someone who wears makeup". So many people get butt hurt over how much makeup people put on their faces (oh, you wear too much makeup, you should go natural, guys prefer girls without makeup, etc 🙄), and being a girl that wears a lot of makeup, I get judged on the daily about how much makeup I wear. But I've never judged (nor have I ever seen someone else been judged) someone simply because they don't wear makeup
2:09 "You must be a yoga freak or you just like to eat vegetables don't you? - which is actually true but they shouldn't assume it" 😂💕

I was told several times as a teen (!) that "Oh, come on, don't ruin the party" when I said I don't want to drink. Like, how does me not drinking alcohol affect the mood of the whole party? I don't mind if everybody drinks around me, why you mind that I don't? People just can't seem to understand that some of us can perfectly enjoy parties and gatherings without alcohol. Now I'm older, I occasionally drink liqueur and I can enjoy a glass of fine wine every once in a while, but I drink less that 6 glass of alcohol per year and I'm fine with it. I don't understand this whole "drinking culture", meaning that people try to pressure others into drinking until they get drunk, which will make them sick, and nauseous and weak... it is a damage to health, why would you force me to do that to my body??
My other favourite line is "Oh, then what is your choice of drug?" Like, if I'm not drinking, I must smoke, or take pills, or be addicted to caffeine, etc. but there MUST BE something instead of alcohol, there's no way I'm clean of everything. Well, quite frankly my drug is music and chocolate, I'd choose any of them any time over the above mentioned stuff.
I sometimes get these questions:
“Are you pregnant 🤰?”
“Are you on a diet?”
“Are you sure you’re just having a water?”
“Do you have to drive later?”
(I don’t even have a driving’s license)
“Are you working later today?”
*sigh*
I just say in response to being pregnant, no I'm just fat. I like food. Lol

When i say i don't like the taste (.specially when the offered drink is beer) i always get the " no one likes the taste at first, but you build a taste for it with time"...and is always been so confusing to me, like why would you want to build taste for something you didn't like the first time.and doesn't have any benefits like being good for your health?quite the opposite in fact. Like i get saying " no one likes vegetables at first, but you can build a taste for it" because vegetables are needed for a good diet... but beer? Why?

The sad thing to see is how people need to use dangerous substances in order to 'live a little'. How about enjoying life without drugs or intoxication? Ever thought that the problem is perhaps that you're incapable of being fun without substance abuse?
I think some of us are just naturally miserable, stressed or just incapable of living in the moment, and thats why they need something. That may be weed, booze or prescription drugs, or choose to never take a break from it
@@stephenolder4552 why not harmless hobbies to not be "miserable, depressed or incapable of living properly"? You know... like watching your fav movies or serials, travelling, reading, paragliding, painting, making music, writing, learn a new language or try out different cuisine, dance, teach, take up photography..there's honestly a lot of shit out there. Many therapies and treatments exist just for this. But whatever, if people wanna make excuses about intoxicating their body then so be it.
@@blueshoes5145 some peoples brains are wired to be high strung, stressed or whatever and simply picking up a fun hobby isnt gonna change that. Thats why some people are on some form of prescription drugs, or self medicate with weed or booze.
You may not be like that, so you'd probably find it hard to relate to but thats okay. You dont have to get it.
On a side note, while drinkers do say these annoying lines in the video, some non drinkers do have something just as annoying: self-righteousness. And id rather deal with a drunk than a self righteous person any day of the week. Not saying you're self righteous, im just talking about those who are.
Alcohol isn’t dangerous if you know what you can and can’t do.
I literally only smoke meth so I can go for days without eating.
Its my diet fix. I can go months or years between several day or several week binges.
Meth never destroyed my life like it did with so many of my friends.
Because although I abused substances. Substances weren't my real vice.
Anorexia and bulimia were.
I've cycled through various eating disorders for 15 years though...
I don't need drugs for fun because that's literally not why I take drugs.
"You only live once!" Yes, and I rather not live my only life being an alcoholic.
Lexi Peck Oh god that was surprisingly good
and remebering what I did...
The vast majority of people who drink aren't alcoholics and won't become alcoholics.
Unless you’re an idiot, you won’t become an alcoholic if you drink. I go out every weekend and get pissed but I’m not an alcoholic.
@@tiermax1629 I was going to agree with you, but then you claimed proudly that you get wasted every week... That's just sad.
However, most people who drink aren't alcoholics. And don't get piss drunk every week. It's wrong to assume they all do
They forgot
"I wish I was sober like you."
"Come on just try it once." or "Just one sip"
"Why"
"What do you do for fun then?"
I dont think people realize how insulting it is to insist or try to throw drinks their way to try and change then. For all you drinkers who have done this before, know that it's the most annoying thing on earth to deal with people like that. Because we have dealt with a million other people exactly like you that say exactly the same things. They try to make it their personal goal to try and "convert" someone as if it is some great achievement. Know that you are not only insulting the person but also their morals and beliefs. But whatever 🤷♂️ that's how I feel.
Because its easy to pretend to be someone while sober. When you have a few drinks in you, your inhibitions lower and people get to know the real you and thus can make a better connection and become better friends. Its deep but its why people ask you that. People who dont drink have something to hide imo and know it will come out if they drink.
I just love the fact that I can have a great time without having the need to drink alcohol to do it
Same here, I go to parties, pubs, bars and still have a good time, even though I'm sober.
Ahhh I had people trying to get me drunk since I was fifteen. They never understood that no means no.

I'm 22, i don't drink and i'm surrounded by drinkers. It is strange, because i never really missed drinking alcohol in my life. It is just so pointless to do so. So glad to know that there is more people like me around the world. 😊

Hey dude, I'm 22 going on 23 in a week. I'm the same. I don't drink, surrounded by people who do. I'm at risk of addiction if I do, so I can't, but I also don't see the point.
True
I have a few friends who are 20.. 22.. 23 and I'm 19. None of them drink but I occasionally enjoy a cider or something, but I always feel bad because funny enough, I feel like they are better than me for NOT drinking. Lol do I make any sense? Like not the typical "I won't drink if they don't drink." It's more like... I actually feel ashamed because they are better than me for not drinking 😂.
Personally I'm afraid of the effects of alcohol and weed. It's addicting, it does incredibly dangerous things to your body and everybody just acts like it's normal to be drunk and high. It's a serious problem in society, that's why I choose to not drink or smoke
most people have serious problems and alcohol helps them get thru it. Its the same as taking prescription pills or whatever vice you may have. And everyone has a vice!!!

Why don't you drink? **dumbfounded face**
I get that so much. Well for starters:
1. Alcohol tastes awful
2. I don't want to make a fool of myself. I do that enough as it is without the help of alcohol
3. It's unhealthy. Not only is it bad for your liver, it also has more calories per unit than anything else besides pure lard.
4. It's so expensive. I could use that money on something way tastier and healthier
5. I don't want to risk becoming dependent on a substance
No it's not because of my religion. No I'm not a boring fun-hater. No I'm not judging you and I don't believe I'm morally superior to you. No I'm not an ex-alcoholic. There's just literally no good reason for me to drink alcohol.

It's so annoying, really. Whenever I go to a birthday party there's at least one person who says something like, "C'mon, it's almost rude not to have a drink on their health." (Which is very ironic by the way.) But they think it isn't rude to casually disrespect my own decision and try the guilt trip on me?
Good job for the keeping of the cool

"people ask me if im muslim or if im a protestant from the 1600s"
"what do you say?"
"yes."
I hate when people keep asking "why don't you drink" and then when I say "for personal reasons" it's not a good enough answer. I don't drink because my dad was an abusive alcoholic and I never want to end up like him and I can do completely fine without any alcohol. But that's not something you want to tell someone you've just met, someone who's already a few drinks in and will just say "oh c'mon, one drink won't kill you." So when you meet someone who doesn't drink, don't ask why. Just accept the fact. More drinks for you, yeh?

I have a small metal trashcan with a dent in the top. To me when I go out, the music is my drug, it controls my mood and my 'high', its so important to me. People will ask me if I'm drunk and I'll be like no, it's the music. I hope us youngsters can stop relying on alcohol to have fun, or give confidence because it doesn't seem like a good thing in the long run.

I don't drink and will never do so, but I don't really have a reason. People are always so eager to know why and they alway think I'm an alcoholic, I'm a health buff, or I'm just boring. I am literally none of those things, I just don't care to have such severely mind altering substances in my body. Simple as that. And it's not even a big deal to me, but other people are so uncomfortable with it, like I'll be offended that they drink, or they don't want me to feel left out. I don't drink because it makes me feel tired and heavy and I don't really like how I say/do things I wouldn't normally say or do when sober . It's weird how alcohol is synonymous with having a good time in this country (england) . I mean , standing in a room drinking endless liquid is the epitomy of fun ? I get it though , when I was younger I used to drink a lot in pubs and parties too it's just not interesting to me anymore

Yh I would think that alcohol is just dangerous especially with a wine or a beer or even vodka. So that is why I probably would have to experiment much to my mother’s disgust.
For those who say they don't drink (anymore), I'm glad you say you don't anymore. I support it all the way. However, I have NEVER had an urge to drink ever, and I don't ever want to. I don't do drugs either. Since I was like 12 I knew I wouldn't drink/do drugs ever in my life. I'm 22 now and I have always had morals and a good conscience and for some reason, when I tell people "I don't do that. I never will. Don't ever bring it up again." They never take it serious. They say "But you will eventually, right?" "Like... never?" "But why?" "You can't hold your liquor?" "You need some alcohol in you!" "I'm gonna slip you something someday." "I'm gonna get you drunk one day." "Are you Christian/Catholic?" "But what if..." NAH, FOOL. I JUST DON'T. I don't have urges to drink. I don't have urges to do things like that in my life. I'm 18 and in the UK and I get called boring. And asked most of these questions and they assume that I am religious. When I get asked at a birthday or a party or some sort of celebration do you want a drink. It's not even a question anymore. Because if you say "no thank you I don't want to drink alcohol" they ask again like they didn't hear you and ask you another 5 times and begin to pour you one. My girlfriends nan said I was a very boring guy and a bring down at parties because I don't drink. Yet that party I stopped someone from falling over and banging there head on concrete and I helped 4 people to their taxis.... I'm helpful not boring. And I came up with all the party ideas.
ironic because the main religion in the country requires you to drink a little alcohol as part of the service which is actually why i hate the stuff. i think only an alcoholic would like the taste of church wine it's that awful i always felt bad for the priest because he had to drink what was left.
Yea... I’m British too, but I not faced that problem... at least not yet cuz I’m underage, but still I remember I given small amount alcohol at one of my family gatherings, but I never drank it. So I leave it at the table and always go to a room where I can be by myself away from my family as I’m a private person and I hate parties. So, yea
Not all alcohol tastes the same. Beer is a unique taste, so is wine. Applae cider is disgusting but a mixed fruit cider is amazing. My recommendation is dont get dead set that you dont want to drink, try a little here and there. Stay away from wine, its the most alcoholic tasteing thing ever
Damo2690 To be honest... I rather not run the risk of getting drunk, embarrassed myself or worse, ended up sleeping with a random stranger. What if I have weak alcohol tolerance? I don’t want to risk that, especially since now I have a boyfriend
Kuno Phantom-Kunoichi2001 If your main fears are the things you listed, *if* you want to, then try having *a* drink with you bf/with friends at a house. If thats ok, then the time after have a 2nd drink. I wouldn't recommend 3 drinks for someone thats just starting to drink.
Edit: I would recommend this only if your 17 or older
I have had two sips of alcohol in my entire life. I hated both of them. The smell of alcohol makes me feel sick.
I explain this to people and they still all think they'll be the one to get me to drink. No. Go away. The more you push the LESS I want to try.
middynighty I get this I have had three sips though
Amen
These comments and questions describe my entire life I don't drink or do drugs never touched drugs and only had a little bit once I was 18 but absolutely hated it. I don't enjoy partying either so It was really hard for me to fit in and lost quite a few friends from just choosing a different path in life. But I love having fun in other ways I love the gym and doing runs but I enjoy going to movies with friends, lunch with friends, shopping and just finding things that are going on in the town to do with friends and I am pretty thankful my boyfriend doesn't drink or anything either.
FINALLY!! I have felt so alone with this concept-I am so glad you have made this video!
