the sad part is that girls don’t get catcalled if they’re with a man. have it be a father, brother, friend or relative. even if they do catcall the poor girl, the minute spot they’re with a guy and usually immediately apologize to THE GUY and not the girls. disgusting.
It's like women are men's belongings and they're sorry for touching the men's belongings without their consent. Sad but true.

Lol I literally just watched a youtube vid, where a dating coach encouraged a woman to pick up guys off the street. She picked up 5...
"This is my husband/boyfriend. He catcalled me one day on the street with his boys and I realised he was the one. We've been inseparable ever since" said no woman ever
Lol, exactly that, in fact, most catcallers would lose interest if, by any chance, the woman chooses to take things that far. 😂
@@pamelasarkar9763 true! i don't understand what goes on in their brain if they think that catcalling a woman or sending her creepy dms/pictures on social media will woo her somehow. weird 💀

The fact that I’m only 14 and have been catcalled and then was FOLLOWED for a couple of minutes until I ran into a store says a lot. I was dressed in uniform. There’s no excuse it’s not the compliment you think it is nor do girls look older than their age. If you can’t tell the difference between a minor and a adult don’t catcall her simple.
Wow I'm so sorry you have to live in a first world country where people can freely speak their mind, dress they way they want, and think what they want. I don’t think guys understand how terrifying this is for girls. That feeling of your heart pounding erratically in your chest because you start thinking of the worst (especially when it’s a group of guys), it’s deeply unnerving. I had a dude follow me one time in Vegas. I've been cat called but that was the first time anyone ever followed me. And it wasn't just like I noticed him walking behind me. This guy made an effort to walk beside me like he was with me or something. It was so weird. I walked up to a group of strangers and pulled they "hey guys I've been looking for you" card. They were super sweet to me and let me hang out until the guy left and even offered to keep walking with me all the way to my hotel but I took a cab. Hope those folks are blessed wherever they are. They probably saved my life that night.

first time i got catcalled was when i was 14 because my mom wasn’t there
I was at the gym with my 14 year old daughter and a couple of men (mid to upper 20's) started commenting and talking to us. We walked away and went through the women's locker rooms to the pool. They followed us to the pool (through the men's room) and snuck up behind us and jumped scared us while my daughter was lap swimming (she's a competitive swimmer). The lifeguard was laughing and saying "they got yooooou!" Until I told her we.don't.know.them. They followed us around for nearly half an hour until I went to security. Security talked to them and walked us to our car because we couldn't enjoy or focus on our workout any more. This was in the middle of a week day. It is outrageous that full grown men think it is acceptable to treat anyone this way, let alone minor children!

You wanna know what's really disgusting? Any woman can verify that they got cat-called *more* as a minor than they do now being in their 20's/30's and up. The ages between 12 and 24 seem to be when this happens the most, and it's bad enough as is getting cat-called, but it's absolutely disgusting that the type of men who do this come onto minors more than any other age group.
Whilst I don't believe what you said is actually statistically true, I do believe minors should be kept out of it completely.
@@t6kr958it’s anecdotal, it’s not meant to be like an actual statistic or whatever it’s just their experience
@@t6kr958based on the comments here, it is true.
@@t6kr958 It does have logical basis though. Catcalling is less about genuine flirting and more about power and control. It's done by attention-hungry people who wanna feel power and influence over others. It's easier to achieve that against a girl much younger and weaker than yourself.

I was 18 and passing by a school to a nearby pharmacy. Some 15 year old boys climbed to the wall and kept catcalling me and another girl. We went inside to complain to their dean. But a teacher stopped us and clearly pretended to be the dean. He was surrounded by students. I told him what those boys were doing. He said very dismissively "They don't have sisters, mothers..." and to let it go. I said, "Is you education limited to the classroom? You don't tell them how to be good people?!" right in front of all his students. Freaking shithead. It bothers me still that he was a teacher.
What did he say after

I hate to say that as a 14 year old that I've experienced being catcalled plenty of times, and just the amount of uncomfortability and even embarrasment I feel when that does happen. Especially that it can still happen when I'm with my family. I feel like women of all ages should always be respected, and it really dissapoints me that we arent. But what also disappoints me is that once when I was catcalled (I was probably around 12 or 13) and I was with my 2 siblings and mom, was that my mom blamed it on me for wearing a skirt, and she said if you didn't dress the way you do that wouldn't happen. And on top of that it wasn't a short skirt either and I always wear shorts under too, and even if it was short it doesn't give permission to record me (which I was) or for men to say unwanted things to me.
101% sure the last dad is a mafia boss 😂

Israel is 69 years old, and most people would say anything past 20 years begins to become old fashioned especially clothes, hell my clothes from 5 years ago are a bit old fashioned so I'd say this 50 or so year old Israeli guy is old fashioned.
What's disturbing to me: I got cat called far more often when I was visibly underage and a school girl wearing a uniform.
Yup. I was NINE the first time someone propositioned me on the street, and I was not a "mature" looking 9. I was followed by men in cars, regularly, between the ages of 12-15...
I was 14 the first time it happened to me but I've always looked about 3-4 years younger. I was with my mom too! This college guy (i grew up in a college town) was leaning halfway out of his friends car yelling "Nice legs!" at me. I was shocked and Mom was horrified lol.

Wow that's disgusting
OHHH Someone commented about “brothers react to sisters being catcalled” and I have a great story!!
So I’m a female, 16, and my brother is 18 (mildly autistic). Since I was in kindergarten my family was really close with another family that had three sons, one my age, one my brother’s age, and a couple years younger than me. The oldest never really talked to me to looked “comfortable” around me, but I mean we still talked but very briefly in group convos you know? That is until one day a year ago when I went to their pool in a bikini (it was VERY unrevealing, it was black and had everything 100% covered, my parents were always pretty strict about modesty). Then the oldest completely ignored my brother and started talking to me and making jokes and laughing a lot. He kept trying to hit me with pool noodles and got very physical touching my arms and leg and such. At first I gave the benefit of the doubt, but it got increasingly more uncomfortable to the point where his brother (my age) told him to “stop being weird” (they seemed genuinely annoyed). So I decided to move to the hot tub where my brother was. The oldest sat next to me, so I moved to the other side of the hot tub. He moved with me… 3 times. Then he squeezed my thigh. That was the last straw. The next time we went to their house he was still weirdly flirty and physical. He started to like jokingly hit me with a pillow and I was like kind of pinned down, and that’s when my brother (always very chill and non-confrontational) lost it. He grabbed the guy and shoved him like a the length of the sofa, silently grabbed my arm and YANKED me up, took my outside to where my parents where, lightly pushed me into a chair, took a deep breath and said “okay, we’re going to stay here now”. He stood there next to me for the rest of the night.
I love him to death (sorry this was so long 😅 )
W brother fr

It's super upsetting that so many arguments AGAINST rape, sexual harassment or catcalling are "they're mothers, sisters, daughters etc" like okay but women are also individuals and we should just respect them because they're human beings. Period.
psychoredhot True, I guess that argument is used so people can put the severity of the situation into perspective and empathize with it. In most cases people don't usually care what happens to someone else unless it affects them personally or a loved one. It's easy to overlook something you're not exposed to than to shut down the experiences of your loved ones (mother ,sisters, daughters, ect.)

Sometimes it helps to put things in different perspectives. So if some dudes can't grasp the fact that we are people that deserve basic respect and decency, pointing out that we are also "daughters, moms, wives, sisters, etc" might help get it through their heads.
Exactly Megami! Humans are incredibly, incredibly, incredibly social beings. We’re also bad at generalizing, so 10,000 people you don’t know dying won’t affect you nearly as much as one person you do know dying. All of this means that most guys will probably have more of an issue with violence against women if they think of it happening to one woman they care about than 10,000 they don’t know.
This
They just think about themselves. What a trash.
It's a human condition, not just a male one. We tend to be more thoughtful when something is brought home to us, if we can see us and ours in a situation. If we see a terrible news story about an abducted child, you are shocked regardless, but when you personalise it as "my kids" or "my sister's kids" it hurts more. It's not perfect but it does reach us more as people when we put ourselves into the situation in some manner. There is so much in the world, you can become blind to issues until it is in front of you more.
Sorry but the third dad gave me some powerful man/mafia leader vibes
Haha yes exactly
yup... i think we'll found the last guy in a cement pool
@@eddiezatt5481 Bruhh 😂😂
Yes
Yep... After the interview he went and shot down men catcalling his daughter 😂😂😂
Because of this my heart starts pounding every time I walk past a guy or a group of guys. We women always have to worry that someone will catcall us, so we get terrified even before it happens 😐
lol what would you say 😂 love his response. its perfect
i was 13 when i was catcalled for the first time. i was flat as a board, and shaped like a refrigerator- now that’s creepy- i was a literal child, yet it still happens
Yess like how do we get catcalled even at 12? We're literally children and built like a board
It's all about the power game for them
They want to make us feel humiliated, that gives them power, "power over us"
@@Official_Nigel_Simp some girls aren't like that(flat as a board, built like a refrigerator, etc.)... I'm one of them. I've been mistaken for a 16 year old many times, and its often my family who says how "big" I am.

i got catcalled at 12 years old more than i did as an adult.

No talk all action... he clearly doesn’t take bull
See how he says "there would be a fist fight" and not "I'd fight him"? Proves he's a mafia boss, would get his soldiers to do the job for him.
All the guys flirting with the mafioso at the end, were gunned down later that day by his goons.

I love that OG the last one. I love the fact im 20 and felt every thing he said aloud makes me feel better gangsta way!
My daughter dresses conservatively. She told me she got slapped on her butt at the mall by a guy then he ran off. Dude lucky momma bear wasn’t there.
Natalie Junge The very same thing happened to me when I was about 12 or 13, dressed in a long heavy sweater. When I turned around to find the guy- long gone. Cowards.

@emerson sophiaa yeah. But remember if you use violence you become the bad guy. The important thing is reaction because they do not expect
Dont just teach daughters to learn self defense...Also tell the sons how to respect them.
(I thank every one who liked my comment and replied. :) Thank you)
We should tell our daughters to respect men and women, and teach our sons to respect men and women
@@oliviamills830 True, really important :D
Sylvia Godsmith AWESOME statement!
Men and Women have 2 completely different ideas of what "respect" is. Women like to use the word "respect" a lot without understanding what it really is. Respect is earned, not just given to everyone.
Most of these catcallers are homeless people.
The first dad could pass as her brother or boyfriend. He looks young AF 😊
I'm very thankful i don't experience this on a daily bases, because of the town i am in. But i also know just walking past a man on the sidewalk going to school is absolutely terrifying for me, and at times i make a fist by my side just in case, or get my pepper spray out of my bag. i couldn't imagine being followed. so sorry to anyone who gets harassed often. sending good energy, and protection. blessed be.
I’m 15 and I’m a goth, I’ve been catcalled by adult men, honestly I’m afraid to go out alone because of it
Same honestly I only put on sweatpants and a hoodie
I hope you will be ok :(
Watch out for mini vans. They seem to think alt. Dressed girls are more 'open'.
That’s why I dress properly and not show skin

I wear Hijab and i get catcalled. How we dress isn't to blame. Men must be respectful either way.

I wear hijab too and same. People need to understand it happens to everyone regardless of how you’re dressed or how you look. It even happens to little kids😔 Victims should not be blamed, it should be the catcallers that get blamed because it’s their fault

If I was old enough to walk around alone, and I ever got cat-called and my dad saw the clip, my dad wouldn't even care if I was cat-called.

@@scary5455 Thank you, nobody has ever said that to me. However, for this same reason (since nobody never cared and never said that to me), Why do you care about me?
I care about you as well, and I'm certain a lot of women would say the same thing to you. We have a responsibility to support youngins like yourself so that you learn how to handle bad situations and also how to avoid it in the future. Why do men have to think of women as "daughters, mothers, sisters" for us to deserve respect and safety? Isn't us being HUMAN BEINGS with our own lives important enough? We aren't just extensions of other men, we are real people.
