Because she was very abusive, unstable, and supposedly an alcoholic. She LOST custody of her first 2 kids to her ex-husband's parents before they were two. She has zero relationship with them, and they have zero relationship with Grandpa Thomas. She had a 3rd child and no one knows who the father is! She was very abusive, and she ran away to Samantha's mother for help. Again- this 3rd one- no relationship with Samantha, grandpa Thomas, or uncle Tomas Jr
