I have no idea how I beat this game REPEATEDLY as a little kid, but as an adult this game kicks my ass constantly!
I only JUST FINALLY made it to the surface of Venom, and only then, thanks to the fact that I can use Save-States on my emulator.
SNES was a lot easier when I was a kid, for some reason... As an adult it's painful to be SO BAD at every game I try to replay.
For anyone else wanting to play this game: do NOT fire Smart Bombs at Phantron. If you do, it retaliates with a missile that kills you in one hit.
I swear most bosses in this game Kamikaze you after you think you've killed them, looking at you Phantron with the loose legs, Plasma Hydra headbutting you, Blade Barrier with the loose fan after his defeat.

Path 2 always seemed kind of like the weird one to me. Not because it's the medium difficulty, but because some of the bosses are kind of odd. It's also amusing how in Paths 1 and 3, the last boss before Andross is a rematch with a powered up version of a previous boss, but on Path 2 it's...a big van thing on the highway, lol.

You know you can deflect enemy lasers and plasma balls, right? You don't take damage if you are spinning when they make contact with your wings. Missiles and fire still need to be avoided, though. Good job, nonetheless. 👍🏾
you have to time them though especially when they throw everything at you all at once sometimes it doesn't work, the frame rate doesn't help things either, everything can be deflected I tried it in one of my streams.

How did you lose wingmen on every run? You'd have to suck really bad at this game to lose them, I bet you savestated the whole way throuh
On the Easy path bosses they were fine, on the hard path though this game gets ridiculously hard easily the hardest game in the series, let's see you try getting them all through in one piece not so easy is it, common offenders such as Venom 3 with the huge moving doors, all of Fortuna, Macbeth's boss and travel with those Volcanoes, experiencing slowdown altogether, Great Commander is another example, enemies hit hard like trucks in the Hard Path entirely.

Uh yeah it is easy for me actually, I've played through the game dozens of times in the decades since 1993. Keeping the wingmen alive is trivial.
I have been playing this game since it came out it was called star wing in the uk and still play it sometimes till this day and i never lose team mates but i can see the guy probably won't even know that if you roll while you get shot at you actually can dodge the round coming at you it's not a 100% a dodge but reduced damage
