Damp the dreads prior to braiding and it'll help shrink the hair so it won't be as hard to hide them. They mold easily when wet(damp) I always keep a mist bottle on hand. Great video 😍
this is smart, i’m gonna try this next time. i just did box braids over my 2 month locs
Thanks for that tip
@@godofdarkness5684 You're welcome luv
Yea but then you have to make sure they are througly dry. Water trapped in locs causes MOLD. Not the "shaping" mold the actual fungus; Which within itself causes bad smells. Build-up mold is hazardous and has to be removed therefore cutting the locs themselves. The hardest part of having Locs is making sure they are thoroughly dry no matter the thickness. They have to be completely dry from water no matter what.💯👍🏾✌🏾
@@praisethemosthigh1316 Very true but seeing that she does locs I would hope that she knows that. That's why I didn't mention that. Well to the original poster please make sure that you put your clients under a dryer afterwards 😏
I don’t know how to braid but this video make me want to braid my locs 😭 cause I can’t never find anyone to do my hair
What state your in?
Me too. Did u try?
Black women are all that! geniuses at work🤓
Finally found a good step by step video after a long search
Right 🙌🏾
This video works for hair that is not loc’d as well. Great braiding technique and I saw how to hold the weave and place it a lot better than I have with other videos. I like how she went slow and took her time showing us how to connect the weave to the loc. Great video!
i watched manifest in 2022 w my dad, seriously kept us up at 3am watching😂😂😂 great job sis w the locs❤
Did this for this first time yesterday!!!! It was fun an challenging took 10 hours TOOO long because she had to bring her 2yo daughter. They took tooooo many breaks for me. I had to pray smoke & play gospel to get thru!! Clients like this make me not want to continue my hair career. I understand now why stylist have the rules they have! I now understand the why behind the prices they charge. I get it!!
I wish u were located near me! I'm childless amd don't play with my time lol. Would love to get some like butterfly twist over my locs
So happy to have watched your video, game on!
My daughter's are going to be over the moon. Thanks so much.
her locs are soooooo beautiful i cant wait to do this to my locs
Thank you! Trying some tomorrow and needed to learn QUICK this really helped me
Hey sis, great job. Its so neat. This style does take long, but its a learning experience for you. If you decide to do this in the future, you should suggest your client to have their locs retwist before their visit, so its easier for you to start braiding. Im locs and a braider so i get it. Im definitely gonna try this look over my locs, im doing it myself so wish me luck lol. Thanks for sharing.
To me I would only do hair over locs if I am in need of a retwist, but are able to get one. If I pay to get my hair retwisted, I wouldn't want to pay to get braids out over it. I think it just defeats the purpose, but it's whatever a person prefers I guess.
When getting a retwist, a loctician is twisting your hair. The hair becomes slightly tight, going to go get braids and having the braider braid on top of that will thin the locs out eventually.
Ain't nobody getting their hair redone just to get box braids girl that to much money to be giving someone
Thank you so much for this video! The box braids over locs process finally makes sense to me ❤️
Right! Got me ready to get some.
I been having my locs about a year now. So I'm going to try something new with my locs tuck my dreads locs over box braids
the watch is super cute! great idea for braiders
Thank you so much for this I jus started my locs n been thinking ab doing braids on mine
These look so amazing 🔥🔥
Great job explaining just what I was looking for 💞
Thank you for your tutorial for beginners like me I'm ready for a different style for my locs 🌻💚🥰💜
I was thinking of cutting my dreads even though i really didnt want to but i really wanna to braids too so u can imagine this really helped ❤
The parts are clean and neat ❤
ouuuu yesss i totally forgot about the hair when you said you were watching manifest...i lovee that seriesss soo much it got me soo addicted..
Girl you are the bomb!
You did so well!!
Omggg hiii!! Thank You for thiissss🥰🥰
Locs are gorgeous.!!!!
You did an amazing job!
Wow this beautiful
Great job 👏🏽
Amazing work darling.
Thanks for tutorial!!
Beautiful
nice! just did this. i didint get as close to the roots but i like a messier look. edited: her locs are so pretty! would you consider this a protective style?
her locs are beautiful
can you do a video on prepping the hair & putting it on the sewing rack ?
Great job thanks for video
The braider is doing a great job and the braids are very neat and professionally done, so she's not the problem! This woman's locs look like she's subjected them to a lot of stress. Her hair is very soft but they look kind of weak, torn up, and ragged. They look almost like she has been brushing them! As for me, I think locs do better when they're just left alone and allowed to grow without stress or pulling. Again, just like everybody else in the comment section, it's my own opinion.
Her hair just looks curly to me. It looks strong, she is probably free forming.
@@kairo333 I watched it again after I read your comment and her hair looks like it's locked from the roots to the ends instead of the other way around. My hair is probably 4F LOL very, VERY tight and nappy, and it locked from the ends, which is weird. Everybody's hair is different...Thanks for pointing that out! Take care.
I know this is an old comment but this is such a wrong assumption about her locs being “damaged”. Do you even have locs ? I think anyone with locs knows that her hair isn’t neglected or damaged, its clearly in its budding stage. Theyre not mature yet so they will be frizzy and a little more wild. Nothing wrong w her locs.
@@Corynmw I've worn locks for the past 15 years. The locs look thick and tin and lumpy, and it looks like they might have been subjected to stress of some sort. I'm not sure whether braiding over them is a way to encourage even strength and thickness and optimal growth. (shrugs) my opinion. If they're developing well, why hide them under braids??
@@meridien52681 I understand where you’re coming from. I do feel that if your locs arent mature yet then you should be a little careful w styles like this, but it’s nice to see how versatile locs can be- braids, wigs, crochet. Theres no wrong way to be a dreadhead imo
😍😍🔥
This was helpful but I wish there were better shots of you starting the braid and more explanation about how you started it properly
How many packs of hair did you use and what kind?? Thanks
I wish I knew how to braid atp dang
Do you dip the ends with water when finished braiding? This looks really nice!
Do you have a tutorial on cornrows?
Do yah Thang Girl 😮
Next time you can do 2 or 3 at a time, but ensure that you’re not pulling on her hair too much.
They came out nicely ❤😊
Heaviness and the size is why I struggle with the neatness for my clients…it just doesnt look good…but imma keep going until i figure it out
Attempting these today but nervous … I’ll send pics if I stick with it
Did you flake? I really want to know so I also try them myself
Hi! How would I keep my hair moisturized under the braids? I’m assuming my hair should be dry as I’m braiding it?
How many packs of hair did you use?💕💕you did an amazing job btw🥰🥰
Love the tutorial. Do you know what style of locs she has?
it locs like coil locs.
Heya! How long did she have these in your head. And after you took them out, how long did you wait for a retwist?
I have mini braids and want to do box braids but I'm lazy so I will do this 🤣
How many locs does your client have?
Can you braid starter locs?
Do u think this could be done on free forms?
did you have gel on your watch
👏👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Comment puis-je coiffer avec twist sur mon dreadslocks?
I have tried this...however i struggle to get tbe added hair to remain close to root any suggestiions
I would suggest letting your locs grow out for a while so the roots are fuzzy and soft like shown in the video. Better grip
Hi omg I just moved to Indy I’ve been trying to find someone to do me some braids over my locs and I’ve found no one
How to contact you? I'll be in your state in November for a trip so how much your knotless braids over dreadlocks?
Have anyone with 4c type of hair tried this? If so what type of hair works best for 4c locks?
Hey did you ever find out?
Did your leave her edges out?
I think that loc @4:30 was twisted the wrong way:0 v helpful video thooo🤗
How long does this style last with locs?
3 to 4 weeks I say that because you don't want the love to get weak and damaged .
How much you charge someone for this style. Just referencing
I DID IT ONCE IT NICE, FRESH BUT WAS HEAVY😢
My name is indya
Let me tell you the story my mom never lets me get braids herself or take out my dreads this video will help her give me braids
I was getting these but they too heavy on my head
Good vid but that gonna cause build up in the locs what ever u using is to thick
Locs can be heavy as is... Wouldn't adding all that hair make it feel too heavy?
If you have to say "if that makes sense" then it usually doesn't!!!
She’s too slow
No
