David, thanks very much! I had no idea that Packet Tracer was this capable. It's obviously not as comprehensive as GNS3 but in terms of quickly getting started with a minimal config, I'm not sure that there is a contender. Looking forward to watching the rest of this series.

PT was extreemly usefull in my CCNA challenge! So it helps in CCNP: some thing are easy to config in PT rather than in GNS or VIRL.
Agreed - PT can be really useful. All the platforms - PT, GNS, VIRL, EVE-NG have advantages and disadvantages.

They've changed it a bit, folks. Enroll in a course on netcadCisco website (any really you must do this a second time). Register. Follow proceeding email link "skills for all". Choose "packet tracer course". Scroll down passing a couple of videos with descriptions. You will then see links for free downloads on Mac, Ubuntu and Windows.

Hi David, I have recently download the Packet Tracer version 8.1.1. I have installed it. Windows 7.
However when I am starting it aa blank window poping out with the header ' Cisco Packet Tracer Login' however don't see any login fileds.
And hence not able to run the software.

"% Invalid input detected at '^' marker". I keep getting this when trying to configure my terminal.
You either mistyped a command where the ^ marker points at.
Or you input a command that is not available in one of the 3 different modes that David demonstrated. The 3 different modes have different commands available. You are in the wrong mode probably. Use the "show ?" or whatever to list available commands in each mode you are currently in.
I create an account and then any of the 2 things happen.
1.I try to login and it just says "invalid data"
2. It actually lets me put in my data... And then it says "invalid data".
Is it possible to follow your network automation course using PT instead of GNS3 because GNS3 never works for me nor do I have the ISO or the budget to buy them.

Hi sir! please help me. I did the same process but in practice for example when I want to connect Firewall to Internet and Internet to Attacker(Pc3) is showing this " autoconnection is not applicable for multiuser connection" the cable cannot be connected to that port...This is my problem sir. How can I change the Multiuser?

so I won 2 Udemy courses a few videos back of yours. a CCNA course and python for networking. My questions are, does the ccna course there expire when the new ccna certs is revised?
And or does the course become invalid at the end of february 2020? And are there any PT labs in the package I can download like on netacad?

I think accidently managed to start the course, it does say "Full lifetime access" does this mean until I have started the course or can I start with 1 section and do another section 2 months later?
And if I complete the course I won from you,will the course still be available to me after the cisco revisement certs happen?

The courses don't expire (as in they don't get deleted). They'll just come out with NEW courses to match the updated curriculum. It'll be up to you to take the courses you need to learn the new material.

You have to login and be authenticated to use the program fully.

If you have a laptop that is 32_bit can you be able to down the 64_bit or you can just download the 32_bit?

Hello Juan Carlos, no he tratado de instalar Packet Tracer, pero GNS3 trabaja perfectamente, y creo que es mejor as GNS3 es un emulador.
@@davidbombal Hello David, installing it in Debian is pretty challenging, at least for previous Ubuntu and Debian versions. I haven't tried but I use GNS3 in Debian Buster 10 and also Ubuntu 18.04.

This guy has ccna course in udemy where some of the videos are good but the packet tracer labs are horrible. he does not explain anything in there and just keeps typing very fast. Worst lab videos in udemy ccna course.
