Dear Mr. Tom.
I've followed you tor several years since TABS. Some of your new games are hit or miss for my own personal interests, but still you're doing great keep it up.
But......... Call of Cthulu ROLEPLAY?????? Sir, you have peaked my interest once again. ONLY an hour and 40 minute video? A little short, but I'm hoping to enjoy the next 2-ish hours. Maybe a sequel??? Shh, no spoilers.
Also, love the beard Angory! Dude..... how long has it been since I've been keeping up with ya. Sorry!!!!!
(Your first name is Angory, right? I know people call you Tom, but we all know the truth right?)
An emphatic yes.
Do hope those skeleton props you used in the channel intro for Mystery Quest will make a return 😂😂
This is amazing! It would be great to see bouphe join in for a session.
There is but a single thing I want from the new channel: The Battlebois battling the brutal beasts, horrible heretics and dreadful daemons of the 41st millenium as acolytes of the inquisition
Lydia describing her character: "Short, blonde, posh, rich."
Me: "Ah, so she is playing bizzaro-Lydia."
Lydia with the "Perry I'm BORED" is such a great dynamic.
Lydia’s “Cheese it” is an instant classic..
ikr, that was the biggest laugh of the episode for me 😂
These two posh dandies just swigging their flasks and blundering about is so bloody perfect.
I can’t believe it, you’re doing it. This is everything I ever wanted. Simons beautiful bald head and Lydia’s beautiful bald face playing with Tom’s beautiful bald forehead to nostrils.
Winner of best comment award 😅
Lydia's a perfect roleplayer. She might not know the game perfectly yet but she's the perfect roleplayer you'd want on your table.
Lydia is amazing at this RP - so many memorable lines and I'm not even 40 mins in. "Getting into a car with a stranger? I'd love to!"
The age of the Tomcast has come
The long awaited takeover has come!
We live in a gilded age. 🥰
It was fortold ages ago
I was not ready for this revelation that Simon and Lydia aren't the same person.
I gotta let Chauncey know that, he's gonna freak out.
Man Lydia doing some great voice acting here
“Cheese it!” Laughed out loud at that. I LOVE the chemistry that you three have.
I can’t wait until Simon checks peoples sanity by asking if sonic or tails would get pregnant.
Bregnant*
Definitely tails
Pragnant
@@tiberiuskurisakeclearly this man is insane, everybody knows it’s sonic whose get pregnant
DID YOU EVER HEAR OF A BOOK WRITTEN BY THE MAD ARAB
Holy crap. Can't watch right now, but Tom+Simon+Lydia+Call of Cthulhu can only be great.
Did you ever get a chance to watch?
@@LucidLensKatherine Yep, watched last night. It was indeed very fun.
LETS GOO!!!! Tom Cthulhu Lore shall be expanded.
LOVE IT
Tomthulhu
@@ericvaughn2617Tomthulu apparently means everyone according to ggogle
Simon Lane, aka The Great Old One.
honestly yogs excel at roll playing in a way it's how they got started and I love how fun they make it.
Only with close friends that you can run ttrpg like this. Great fun
Aw yes, roleplaying! The real "How To:" guide.
Yeah it legit started with the old dudes (Simon Sips P.Flax etc) and lewis playing WoW back in the day being a bunch of nerds with no friends and Sips and deciding that they should start a business to make friends
Simons way of holding his pencil to write dougie is psychotic
They call it “nightstalker’s grip”
Tom DM with his unique style of story telling and his off the cuff scenarios sign me up
Call of Cthulhu with Tom as the GM is consistently one of my favorite things on CZcams.
Ngl I half expected Simon to just be Grizwald again haha
Grizwold's already done this story, hasn't he?
Lydia and Simon brought two great characters to the table, loved that they were a different sort of dynamic to the genre's usual. And I love how Tom told the story, the reveal after it ended was the perfect cap to the episode.
Holy shit my favorite tabletop with my two favorite Tom guest pairings?!?! Hell yeah
To slight Ben in such a manner is punishable by death
@@BattleBro77 I propose Ben as DM and Tom joins the team
@@TehSlanI dunno the return of Harvey j griswald would be pretty great
@@BattleBro77Ben isn't a pairing with Tom. Tom&Ben are just one entity
An entire glorious HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES of pure comedy gold roleplay, plus FOUR MORE HOURS already uploaded to the new channel? Ambassador, you spoil us.
That was the absolute best depiction of someone doing a terrible job of persuading someone I've ever seen, right down to wildly waving a gun around and shouting that you fired it (had to pause for laughing for a good ten seconds). That it actually worked is icing on the cake.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing that glorious beard, Simon, and Big Lyds all in one video
Lydia’s excitement at getting a ‘nothing’ on the d6 was amazing! She is a natural at RP and I loved it.
That dementia finally caught up with the old Prof. Griswald. Poor Blighter thinks he called Peregrine for some reason.
Lydia's hair is AMAZING.
Simons is looking good recently too
As someone who has recently rewatched all of yogsquest and call of cthulus from games night, this is a welcome sight!
I literally just finished all of the yogsquests videos for the 4th time and see this, so happy as well
Me: I’d really like something longer than 12 minutes from Tom…
Tom: Get ready to shit the bed mate…
Well, in Simon’s defense, that’s probably about how psychology worked in the twenties 😂
Greeting from Ann Arbor irl!!
Super excited for the channel, glad you’re kicking it off with call of Cthulhu
Angry Tom, Symon and Lydia makes this session way more exciting from the start than 90% other youtube rpgs which drags time, makes slowest roleplay decisions, invest in props and clothes ... THIS IS TRUE Roleplaying !
massive pog for two hours of big lyds and the riddle bros
As someone from MI. I firmly believe that the "next town over" being Ypsilanti, entirely accurate for a Lovecraftian nightmare.
I cannot think of a more perfect squad to wander the Lovecraftian madness as a way to kick off the launch of the new channel.
Perry and Maggie are such a good duo.
Lovely little adventure to get reintroduced into Call of Cthulhu as well as give Lydia a quick dip into the universe!
CoC roleplay was the first thing that came to my mind when you announced Mystery Quest, and I'm so glad it came true!
I'm 1 hour in, and I'm pretty sure this entire campaign is based upon the concept of "Dougie Dougie hole" because Simon is playing.
I also need Lydia do go around saying "Perry, I'm bored" and demanding something fun happens!
Thank you Tom, your RP's have been some of the best yogs content to date 👍🏼
Oh Snap, Here I thought it would be weeks before we got some ttrpg with the announcement of MysteryQuest. Well done sirs
and lady... if you can call Lyds that ;)
Lydia's slow spiral into billy big boy goat madness broke me
Everyone: “diggy is dead”
Simon and Lydia: “not dead just missing”
Simon ; *sees diggy* “kill it, its a monster!!!”
I love these two 😂
When I played call of Cthulhu rpg a decade or two ago, everyone in our party would drink nonstop just to ignore the horror of everything.
We would even get more shit faced after a fight, sitting on top of a giant extra dimensional horror just emptying our flasks down our gullet refusing to believe the thing we were sitting in did not exist
I love this already!! Lydia's roleplay is spot on!
3:21 "With old 'Dicky gone"
One of John Steel's aliases was "Dick Grizwald"
my god, the cinematic universe grows
Simon's character had anthropology literally "the study of humans". Anthropology by definition is the study of the origin and development of human societies and cultures and has 4 general sub fields. Cultural Anthropology (basically knowledge on different human cultures and societies throughout history), Physical / Forensic Anthropology (which covers human bones and development and our evolution from primates) , Linguistical Anthropology (the study human linguistics of a historical nature) , and archeology (the study of historical human tools and artifacts).
IE... Simon should have been able to identify the bones with a slight advantage at 1:06:50 (at least as far as confirming if they are human or primate/primative homonid in nature) as that is what is covered by knowledge of anthropology. (if he missed it could have been RP'd he was more focused in one of the other subfields but realistically it is exactly what one would need to confirm if the bones are specifically human or not)
Love how in character Lyd is as Margo. She's excellent!
I said it once and i'll say it again to anyone who didn't even ask: F*ck yeah! I'm so here for this!
Call of Cthulhu "Screaming and shitting myself" That is 100% how my players are at my table XD
Holy shit everyone was gold here. Im so excited for the new channel
This was so good. More Lydia as rich heiress in a CoC environment please
Simon and Lyds' dynamic was brilliant, loved both of their characters.
Your guests were great at improvising their roles, Tom! Thanks, it was really enjoyable
Loved the CoC over at Mystery Quest, so of course - craving more.....MOOOOORE....ahem... I just had to tune into the earlier adventures as well! Cheers, guys!
if Thomas Kimble lives a town over from Ann Arbor Michigan it is in keeping that his house was broken into LOL.
About 40 minutes in and this is already such a good dynamic!
can't wait to see more on mystery quest!
It's nice to see Simon looking so aerodynamic
"Who are you?"
"I'm Mary, the journalist"
"What do you do?"
"I walk down the road and turn the corner."
"You see something in the distance, can you describe it?"
"Uhm, perhaps? I don't think so."
"You go mad and die."
My Favorite part of this video is that it is on the AngoryTom Main channel, which is a great channel
Wow, Tom really spoiling us with SIX HOURS OF RPG CONTENT
I think the funniest thing about this was explaining that alcohol was very hard to come by in prohibition. It famously wasn't. Since almost everyone loved drinking, people were moonshining, bootlegging, swoondogging and crankshafting as much booze as they could. Speakeasies were common, and given most police officers liked to drink as much as anyone it was much less difficult than it should have been to get them to shut such places down, to say nothing of the mob's bribing them.
I missed the call of cuthulu game play, so happy the legend is back
Banging one-shot! Can't wait to watch the episodes
Please bring back John Steel private investigator.
My probably three favorite collaborators of the Yogscast, this is fantastic. Also, I'm from Ann Arbor so that adds another layer of hilarity to this all
No better role playing engine to welcome us into the wonderful world of Mystery Quest! Eldritch Horror ticks all of my boxes!
Fuck me, what an ad. This is amazing. I have been missing this, and this duo to kick things off is fucking fantastic, all three of you have great chemistry and their characters are fantastic, I especially love Lydia's reckless and impulsive character egging the conman on. Like he's stuck in one enormous con with a crazy, rich widow.
Simon's method of writing at 9:57 made me fail a real-life Sanity check.
Yes, Ann Arbor is one. Holland, Grand Rapids. Lot of "nature" names!
Ann Arbor was a solid choice. It's the home of the University of Michigan, and was going through a population boom at the time.
I'm so glad that Michigan is finally getting some recognition! Horror set in Michigan is surprisingly infrequent, unless you read the Michigan Chillers children's horror series.
my surprise that there really IS a horror series that is just. set in Michigan, and that's the premise. xD Mega Goosebumps vibes from it. Would you recommend 'em?
@@MMA-SirOwlbie They're good, yeah! They are definitely very similar to Goosebumps and do very similar tropey children's horror things. But the really cool difference is that every book is technically connected, which is creative and unique. At the end of each book, maybe a year or so after solving their supernatural problem, the main characters go on vacation or some kind of trip to another Michigan town and they run into some kids there that tell them the story that we read about in the following book.
@@clairetellkamp6253 oh hey, that actually sounds really interesting! Thanks for the recommendation, it totally sounds like my kinda thing. To pay it forward a lil', I'd say The Goolz Next Door is a fun little children's horror series, though a little juvenile. The first Nightbook book and the Miss Peregrine's series are also delightfully ominous and eerie if you're looking for something to read that's kinda spoopy! :3
Middle grade books are like my preferred reading range, so thanks again for the rec!
Tom: "this is a horror game, stop listening if you scare easy.."
Tom: "its 1920 and alcohol is hard to come by.."
Duncan passes out in sheer terror
Oh awesome! I love Tom's GMing style and wanted something more than the shorter segments he did for Yogsquest.
Funny Simon should mention Conan the Barbarian as Conan is a contemporary of the Cthulhu Mythos. H.P. Lovecraft (creator of Cthulhu) and Robert E. Howard (creator of Conan) were penpals and wrote to each other frequently. Lovecraft's monsters and dark gods even appear in the Conan mythos.
Seeing this new series and the others on the new channel warms my heart so much. I was so fond of the Call of Cthulhu and Star wars series that tom and Yogs did years ago now and seeing them again truly makes me happy. Thank you Tom
finally Tom coming back doing cthulhu with Simon, i could not ask for anything better
This is too much. Such a treat to say the least
Thank you so much Tom for making the new channel! The role-playing vids are a great escape for me, pure comfort food 😊
Oh fuck yes! Ive been binging COC recently. Cant wait to see more Tom!!!
I LOVE COC
Wait
Tom running CoC is some of my favourite youtube content ever, and got me into the game. I’m so happy you’re starting a whole channel dedicated to it! I ran paper chase for a friend a while back and he spent the whole scenario refusing the call to adventure and going partying in town so that he missed the second break-in. The next scenario we played with two friends and when the monster showed up he slipped past it, rolled a 1 for luck, managed to open the door and pissed off into the night leaving the others to their fate. He’s a frustrating guy to play with…
i think i would've called the police, but they were also incredibly drunk so maybe not
Let me sit right the fuck down and get comfy, HELL yes.
"duggie duggie hole man" is fucking great
I love this! Lydia’s roleplaying is amazing!
The thing I've waited for most, at last
True, indescribable excitement
I loved when todd would run Call of Cthulhu. One of my favorite RPGs!
I loooove love love these characters, everybody played incredibly well! I do like the short behind the scenes talk, what could've happened and where more information could've been found. I was really curious as to what had happened. Loved this! Would love to see more!
holy shittt i’ve been waiting for another yog call of cthulhu for so long
I need the "CHEESE IT" scene animated
I want Hat Films to make this into one of their hastily put together films!
WOOHOO! FINALLY!
I've been so _heckin_ excited for this release, and I've been begging for more long form content for ages!
Uuuggghh finally something I can really sink my teeth into!
Thank you so much Tom, Simon and Lyds. 😊
❤❤❤
Super fun peek into Call of Cthulhu
Oh this was a fun take on Paper Chase! Lovely, jumping to the other channel to watch MORE! All of you folks are amazing! 😆
so excited to watch this! all my fave yogs in one place + cosmic horror? looking forward to what tom gets up to on this new channel
Four more out on the mystery quest channel.
You’ve got to love a game where one of the top survival skills is Library Use
I'm excited for the long form content on the other channel. I think introducing it on the main channel is a right proper way to ease others into the other channel!
Well between this and all the vids on Mystery Quest my weekend is set thanks Tom!
