Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

"You're not laughing now, are you? Are you?"
"No, I'm not laughing."
"Join the club."
Badass Monk is the best version of Monk.
I wouldn't call that badass, I'd call it struggling. You can see the pain in his eyes as he's speaking there, which just gives it so much impact...
It doesn't happen often but when it does, the payoff is worth it
Monk didn't want to laugh at end (like Stottlemayer told him), just want bloody Hudson wouldn't fun anymore
@@sauvagess it's badass for monk
He knew it was real good when Max got arrested.

Not even Monk would stoop so low as to laugh at someone who mocked Trudy in front of a live audience. What a guy!
True. That would make him as bad as Max.
Wanted to like your comment...but it's am even 100 right now
Wait what? I’m confused. What do you mean not even Monk?
@@JA-jb4ti because no one was laughing at Max getting arrested, and they didn’t love Trudy as much as Monk did. The best way to rub a comedian’s defeat in their face is to laugh at them. But not anyone in the room, and especially not Monk. Not even a sarcastic laugh.
Anyone who was listening would boycott future broadcasts if there was any justice in the show disregardeding the killer getting arrested.
Why is no one talking about the Captain’s “jangle my tenders.” Thats one of the funniest part of the show for me.
I was just about to say this haha
true but after what the suspect says that to Monk, it gloves off
Of all the cases of Adrian Monk this one was so satisfying to watch. I was so upset when Max was making fun of Trudy's death I would have done the same thing Monk did in the studio. To hear and see Max's voice and face when he asked your not laughing oh I so loved that. Don't worry I am sure Max might make some laughs behind bars.
Agreed this had that O so sweet satisfying satisfaction busting him
wll, he will be the joke in prison
Max will certainly be 'entertainment' for the other prisoners, 😉😋😁
Bubba's laughing.
If I were writing this I would have had Randy's line be; "I'm a huge fan, well I was, until you mocked Mr. Monk's murdered wife on the air, pretty sure I can say the same for everybody down at the station too." Would have been one of his many shining moments.
I agree, that definitely should’ve been mentioned
Theirs was better
I mean he’s a parody of the Howard Stern show and those are jokes Howard Stern would actually make. People that are fans of these shows like the messed up humor. So even though it’s messed up they still would’ve found that funny.
@@blacktimhoward4322 Funnier. Not better.
@@blacktimhoward4322 the point is the way they wrote it makes randy look horrible. Randy heard all the dreadful things radio guy said about Trudy, and would still be a fan if they were wrong about the murder?
Max COULD'VE responded to Monk's "your not laughing" with another insult (he had nothing to lose, he's going to jail) but no, he gave a respectful response. Nice moment.
it's not respect, it's called defeat
@@DarkGob Good point
Just because of could’ve doesnt mean he was truly able. You could’ve prevented a bullet to the face, doesnt mean you were likely gonna be able too. Max was truly and utterly defeated, and while he may not have let one out, Monk was the one who got the last laugh
Monk always has that extra little bit of contempt for wife killers
It always strikes me as odd how Randy is talking with him. It only makes sense if you forget the horrible things he said to monk on the radio show
@@Backup_Plan they literally talk about it in the episode, Randy definitely heard it.
@@charlesbronson2926 yea but in this scene he acted like he forgot about it
Can't blame this on his lightheartedness...he's a cop and that was far across the line of putting your personal bias into a case. Big yikes for Dished
@@pixiestxNyomouf yeah, it was definitely bad writing. It’s just strange how they wrote such a malicious line and then seemingly forgot lol
@S.Deezy1997 Honestly, even though it was bad writing I do believe some people actually would forget about it. I even have a good memory and I'll forget surprising things, like someone will ask me how I am and I'll say I'm fine and then I remember "Oh actually I have a headache" or whatever. And Randy's nice enough but he doesn't stick up for Monk like Stottlemeyer does.
One of the few cases where Monk had a little bit of satisfaction when he took down a killer.
That’s actually not true, putting killers behind bars is the only satisfaction he has
@@S.Deezy1997 Nah, he doesn't take satisfaction from that, except a few cases.
@@Trikeboy2 he definitely does, solving murders in general is the only thing that helps him get out of bed in the morning
Dale the Whale's arrest is a good example
He always does. He can't find his wife's killer but he gets satisfaction by find others'.
But here's the million dollar question:
Does this make the dog a gud boi or a bad boi?
He’s a good boy. He was just trained to do one bad thing.
Dogs are always awesome!
A good boi he followed a command perfectly unaware of its effects
All bois are good bois. There's no way he could have known what he was doing was wrong.
Paradox 😂
Easily one of the best resolutions in the show’s history!
When Monk jumped the table and fed him a few knuckle sandwiches...yes just yes. Oh he also overcame his germ phobia for a minute, see love cures everything.
One does not simply... anger the Monk
@@ravenouself4181 "There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man."
It’s as if the dog heard what Max said about Trudy and regret helping him, so he went to apologize to Monk and confessed everything.
lol, the dog even closes the door behind him, what an efficient killer. x)
It had to, do the gas stayed in the room
@@hint0122that wouldn’t have made a difference, at the beginning of the episode, the security personnel came because of the gas being on, meaning that it filled the entire house to the point that they couldn’t enter without wearing masks. And the gas itself in its gas state is lighter than oxygen, so it rises.
@marckempe2143 but, how lomg would it take? Plus, most people don't have a gas detector in their bedroom.
1:56 imagine when Monk closed the gas valve the dog came back and was like - Hey, who told you to turn it off?
The bit I liked most about this episode was that bit at the end where Monk says “you’re not laughing...now, are you?”
Finally got the upper hand!
Max, Patrick, and Dale the Whale are the worst of the worst and get Monk's wrath. Max for mocking Trudy, Patrick for killing his wife & taunting her with the knowledge of it beforehand, Dale the Whale for stealing a year of Trudy's life and happiness.

Wings was in fact the show that made Tony Shalloub famous. So it does seem very appropo to reunite the former costars.
I loved Wings. It was a great show.
The other co-lead on Wings played himself in another episode.

Fucking raw
Monk is an absolutely Badass lol
The guy mock Trudy's death. He's lucky that Monk didn't plan a perfect crime to kill him
Detective Conan did something similar, only in this case it was a german shepherd trained to kill the dogsitter, as revenge for something or other.
Specifically, going for the throat.
Which chapter is that? And also, they really need make more detective story like detective Conan
Columbo beta both of them- a psychology professor trained his dobermans to rip a man's throat out when they heard a certain phrase that the killer tricked his victim into saying.
I think it was one of Detective Conan earlier dubbed episodes: It was the father of a bullied kid who trained his son's dog to kill the bully; because the bully didn't truly repent for his actions after causing the kid to kill himself. He still kept on bullying other kids. So the father decided to kill him.
This is my favorite "here's what happened" thing.
What a creepy murder! And cute puppy!
Lol
This is so SATISFYING! Especially after the radio scene.
The only way I would have liked it more is if he made to run and Stottlemeyer had slugged him. I wanted him to get in one good shot on this clown
I think its adorable that dog closes the door behind me 😊
When it comes to solving cases, Monk always has the final word 😉
Plus, if you didn't notice in the clip that Captain Stottlemeyer gave Max the finger for making fun of Monk's late wife Trudy on his radio show.
When it comes to Trudy Monk has a vicious streak a mile long.
Max discovered that vicious streak the hard way and paid for it dearly.
That dog is so cute!🥰He reminds me of Wishbone! Granted I don’t remember Wishbone being trained to kill.
Wishbone! Aw, I almost completely forgot about that show! I have to look it up now!
He reminds me of Eddie from Frasier 😂
No dog is perfect... :P
It’s been a while, so I’m not entirely sure, but one of the episodes had him imagining himself as Odysseus during “The Odyssey”.
I was watching this show from 20 years ago and still watching it actually i have purchased it is the only series i ever watched thanks so much !
Sorry this show ended!!! Bestest show on USA .....Suits is a good at second.
I am just curious. How long did they take to train that dog to do all that? That was just brilliant.
Well, he was doing it for a few hours a day for a month, usually a few days is enough to get recognition for the command and actions. The rest of the time is practice so the dog can get the motions done perfectly and so the dog will stay exactly where he wants the dog to be at the time he wants. Repetition is easier than most people realize. And when the dog gets the motions done perfectly, Max gives him a treat.
@@marckempe2143oh yeah. I got a dog and i trained with him with a class and at home and it took about 1 and a 1/2 to 2 weeks for him to get the commands down
@@marckempe2143 he meant the actual dog i think
@@MBValentine what I said still applies to training a dog for the scene.
I mean jeez, to go through all of that trouble and training and not think for one second that this could be a sadistically bad idea.
2:14 Is the dog going to the pound for “ACCESSORY TO MURDER?” 😈
Of course not. No treats for a while, maybe. But not the pound
An besides no offence but you do know that it’s murder he’d be charged with right!?
@@matthewforsyth284 No….the dog would be charged with Accessory To Murder. I mean, Capt. Stottlemeyer said it to Max himself: YOUR PARTNER (the dog), YOUR ACCOMPLICE (the dog). 🐶

@@matthewforsyth284 Well, it doesn’t matter anyways, the dog is getting off and the man (the victim’s husband) is the only one going to be punished for the murder.
Dude: Mocks Trudy
Everyone: *Cocks Shotgun*
The dog certainly jiggled his timber chimney without wood or fire.
Jiggle me timbers!
Jangle my tenders.
Whenever a suspect gets cocky you know they are definitely hiding something.
big time
Talk about man's best friend
Don’t forget he also mocked his own dead wife. Really weird script with Dorfman and Randy considering just that part.
Two _Wings_ actors. Good comedy begets another.
One of the most satisfying solves in monk.
Aw yes, I loved this scene when I first saw it on TV. One of the few times I was glued to a TV screen.
Frasier's EDDIE!!!!!
I thought of that, too!
they let monk get that last line in before taking him, my goodness so good
The one who played Max played with Tony Shaloub on the series Wings. Steven Weber, Max, played Brian, one of the brothers who are pilots on the show.
Oh! It's the best moment of the best serie! I love it!
Years ago I read a fan-fic where Max finds that his cellmate in prison is Spyder... and Spyder wants to make the guy pay for mocking Trudy's death. Wish I could find it again because it was a very satisfying read.
Max trained a dog to do all that in two weeks... it's impressive and crazy improbable, he belongs in a hall of fame for his forethought rivaling Prometheus, the actual titan of Forethought.
The two actors who play Monk and the wife killer Max are best Friends in real life. It must have been overwhelming to film this episode.
I like how Monk has a thing about being touched, but doesn't object to the hug. :)
But if Max had been saying his catchphrase "all morning"...does that mean the dog went back to the house over and over that day?
This is the most satisfying one he solved for me.
The loafers 👞 were the breakthrough in the case!!!!
0:45, Randy REALLY put his foot in his mouth there.
TV series or not they really did train the dog.. There is a dog that knows to open that valve on hearing Jangle my tenders or whatever the phrase is. Cute.
Jack Russells are the cutest, sweetest doggos!
All episodes with Kevin Dorfman are brilliant.
Dogs appeared in Monk More than once so aren’t all of them dead since the show is old
outstanding case!! looks like Monk might have found the perfect match during that case :D
I noticed how the Captain flipped him off when using the walkie talkie.
Of course within the next 5 minutes Monk has borrowed the bathroom to give himself and his clothes a thorough washing after that fully-body hug. But he kept it together long enough.
Which is sad because that girl can hug me ALLLLLLLL the time. 😳
That’s one heck of a clever dog.
Ever notice the perp in Monk often states “ This is insane”?
or "you can't prove any of this!"
This is a very specific thing to teach a dog, I doubt they could actually get a conviction.
The shoe the dog took could only have been taken during the day Max said that catchphrase on air, since he never said it after that day, so the dog wouldn’t have a reason be in his house at any other point. There’s also the fact that Max was the one who had Janette prescribed to take sleeping pills, meaning he knew she’d be asleep. Lastly, there’s the small clue in the exclusion of plans for their 10th anniversary.
And they could video the dog responding to the command and take it to court.
What goes around comes around
Forgot Shalhoub and Weber costarred on Wings!
"WIPE, WIPE, WIPE, WIPE"
If Mad Max really lost his wife to an accident, he'd have been much more empathetic to Monk instead of openly mocking Trudy's death.
Brian and Antonio meet again!
We still need Mr. Limpey’s death scene! 🤣 And the wipe-wipe-wipe scene from when he’s talking to the radio host! 😫😂
it must include Randy trying to measure a suspect's head width using his hands haha
That is why whatever happens, you leave someones wife out of it. because it might come back to bite you
I heard what they did to that poor dog in prison ☹️. His lawyer tried to argue his case, but in the end he was busted. 😘
My dog is a half-poodle mix and is very smart. I hope no one is training him to commit murder.
That's a nice cat.
Love monk
Monk isn't someone you mess with when it comes to Trudy. You can also tell he was pisses that this guy killed his wife. Monk always seems to have the best zingers too.
What's the murder, Wishbone?
The murderers in the show kill for the stupidest reasons, throwing their lives away.
Somewhere in eternity,Columbo is looking upon these proceedings and 😃. 😅
its the most adorable murder
That dog was Skip from My Dog Skip!!
Max rager before he became max rager.
The end of this episode with trudy is missing...
I also dislike the lawyer that took advantage of Adrian's ocd. The ending was sweet
perfect crime, if the dog goes missing
I do not know how would defense attorney would defend him against this.
Definitely in my Top 5 of people Monk put in prison.
The joke that he told Monk about his wife is is a great example of a joke that's going too far, almost everyone would say that even if they normally say you should be able to joke about anything and they think people get too easily offended.
I feel bad for the dog owner. Gonna be awkward any time the dog brings home a shoe.
Season and episode?
A Jack Russell.😆
That dog must really liked him to able to go through all that trouble for him and still remember it's training after so many days.
1:53 - the suspect is running away!
Always wished that Randy had asked him to sign a hat or something and then made a point of throwing it away BEFORE he knew the man was a murderer. A lapse in judgement by the writers, in my opinion, to make that a funny moment instead of a great character moment
Is that the dog from Frasier?
I love that dog
I think of all the murderers that monk hates. He hates wife murderers...
so fuuny man
What about the dog...will he get jail time also🤣🤣🤣
