EXCELLENCE OYSTER BAY RESTAURANTS & BARS Review - 5 star, all-inclusive, adults only resort Jamaica

This is a video explaining the different restaurants at Excellence Oyster Bay. We show you the menus that are current at the time of this video. We explain the cuisine as well as the dress codes required.
There are 8 restaurants plus two additional club restaurants as well as several bars, a coffee shop and a sports bar.
The restaurants are:
The Kitchen Table - buffet
Oregano - Italian
Lobster House - Seafood
Caribbean Grove - Jamaican and Caribbean
The Grill - Steakhouse
Spice - Asian
Chez Isabelle - French
Jerk Hut - poolside Jerk Chicken
Magna - Excellence club exclusive
Zenith - Excellence Club exclusive
There are also several bars:
Sol - Pool area
Blue - Swim-up
Stars - theater
Martini - main lobby area
Cielo - Excellence club bar
Magna Lounge - Excellence club bar
Zenith Lounge - Excellence club bar
The alcohol is mid to high tier and the Martini bar, Magna Lounge and Zenith Lounge seemed to be the most consistent with drink quality.
The included house wines were fine. There is a wine menu for an additional cost but we found it very expensive so we didn't bother with it.
Additionally there is the Sports Bar for drinks and late night munchies as well as Aroma Coffee Shop for coffee, tea, pastries, and ice cream.
You also have 24 hour room service and pool and beachside snack menus.
The service in the restaurants is vastly better than the service around the pool or on the beach.
Excellence Oyster Bay is a beautiful resort, but it’s also quite expensive so You’ll have to weigh the pros and cons and decide for yourself if this is your dream destination. Went in Sept. Caribbean grove was my favorite. I went 2x for dinner in my 4 night stay.

The Kitchen Table is sometimes open for lunch depending on resort capacity. Breakfast almost always. Lunch is hit and miss.

I definitely have to agree on your review of Caribbean Grove. We found the curry goat and oxtail meat to be tough most nights. On our last night, it was much more tender and flavorful. Many of the restaurants, including the Kitchen Table, Caribbean Grove, and the Grill, lacked consistent flavor and quality in our opinion. 🤷🏾♀️ Stunning property with great potential if the restaurants improve.
I totally agree! The food at both Excellence properties in Mexico is significantly better across all of the restaurants. But the Jamaican resort location and layout are hard to beat. 😊

New Travel Escapes, your videos are very informative and helpful. Thank you for providing this service! My husband and I are planning an All inclusive vacation to take this November and EOB is one of our considerations although, as you said they are expensive. Do you recommend a more budget friendly Adults only?

Great job booking now for November. If you book directly with Excellence and use a promo code (there is always one going for at least 5%) you can usually get the best price the further out you book.
We also like Sunset at the Palms it is much smaller and quieter.
Iberostar Grand Rose Hall is very good but usually cheapest as a package booking. We also like Sandals although they are not as good as they used to be so read some recent reviews.
Couples is also a solid brand and will be my next choice in Jamaica. Not always super lux but really solid.
If you want to look at areas other than Jamaica, Excellence Punta Cana is very similar to EOB but less expensive.

@@Hedgeclipperz no I haven't done any about Sunset at the Palms but I hear really good things about it.
A smaller resort with good service that tends to fly under the radar.
It is in Negril and the beaches in this area are gorgeous.

Do you have to make reservations for the restaurants ?
No reservations required unless you want to do the teppanyaki table at Spice. That show cooking dinner has a set start time.
The restaurants are "just show up whenever you feel like it". Sometimes you will have to wait if it is a bit later and they don't have a table but then they will give you a specific time to return or a restaurant pager. Go to one of the bars have a cocktail or two and wait until your table is available. 😃
I'll be visiting in December. I noticed some of the restaurants are rooftop. Do they have elevators? I am in a wheelchair.
Hi! X- lounge is rooftop and I didn't see an elevator to get up there but it is just a bar. Not a restaurant.
Most restaurants can be accessed via elevator or ramp.
The boardwalk should also be a nice option as you can access the chairs without having to deal with the sand.

If you are only staying for 4 nights, which restaurants would you recommend? We are upgrading to the Excellence Club.
Zenith, Magna, Oregano, & the Grill for dinner. Chez Isabelle is good too but not as good as the Chez Isabelle restaurants at ERC or EPM.
Lobster House, Oregano, Zenith (poolside snack lunch menu) for lunch.
Jamaican patties at Cielo Bar were yummy too.

@@newtravelescapes This is great thank you. How does ordering at a restaurant work? This is will be our first all inclusive hotel experience. Are you limited to only ordering one appetizer and one main, or can you order as much as you want? I’d love to try multiple dishes.
@@oliverbowling5685 Absolutely order as much and as many as you want!! On our last night, we had 7 lobster tail dinners on our table for two people. Delish!

Yeppers! Nope it is not a crazy question at all. 😊
EOB is all inclusive so- your nightly rate includes all of your food and drinks for both people in your room. Go to the bars, restaurants, coffee shop, whenever and however many times you want. The only additional fees are some specialty wines from a wine list, spa services, maybe a romantic dinner on the beach, if you want one, but none of the extras are necessary.
Factor in some small bills for tipping and you're pretty much set.
