Yeah, I wouldn't want Amy, Rouge or even the Chaotix to get overshadowed by unnecessary human characters.
That's something they need to actively avoid and make said stakes feel important and serious.
Also, the world building needs to be improved like you said.

I’m sure that they WILL be given a focus on whatever project they will appear in. I’m guessing that eventually they’ll get around to doing an all-animated series set in any of the classic Sonic locations.
I’d suggest making a series about the Chaotix simply being master detectives, make it all animated and have Team Hooligan (Fang the Hunter, Bark the Polar Bear and Bean the Dynamite respectively) as a rival gang. They all do it for the money, but the Chaotix have a sense of honour whereas the Hooligans don’t.

It's like the trailers were advertising a show that doesn't actually exist. Everyone was excited to see Knuckles taking on The Buyer as the next big chapter... why didn't they just MAKE that show? It's like a bait and switch for something they knew NOBODY wanted.

I low-key think it be good for sonic to have a universe I mean he already does in the games he might as well in the films
They need to introduce Amy, Rouge, Cream, Cheese, Vector, Charmy, Espio, Vanilla, Metal Sonic, Silver, Blaze, Froggy, and Big the Cat
They need to seriously dial back on the human stories though. Knuckles felt like a sidekick in his own show
I don't think you guys understand how hard it is to add new characters, sonic characters to movie canon.
1. This canon takes place on earth which is made up of humans and all the other sonic characters came from different planets and galaxies and had a reason to go to earth. The only exception was shadow
2. They had have to individually write backstories and reason as to why they are hear and using game canon reason just would work as the game canon deviates heavily from the movie canon which could cause contradiction
3. It would take a lot of time and money. For example they would have spend time making these characters than their model and test how well they work when being animated on a real world setting, than they have to add plots for them to fit in stories which could be a nightmare for the writers if they add so many characters, than they'd most likely have to hire famous voice actors or actors which cost a lot of money, than they had to spend a lot of time doing cgi upon cgi work just for all the new and old characters as well as special affects and unrealistic location. That takes a lot of people, time and money.
Adding new characters and focusing less on human is easier said than done.
Apparently Shadow is gonna snap half of the universe in Sonic 3
Lol! Considering that Sonic movie 3 is reportedly going to be inspired by SA2 (where we all know Shadow had a grudge against humanity for killing Maria), I can imagine the casuals/non-Sonic fans in the audience watching this movie and comparing the plan to destroy the Earth thematically similar to Thanos' plot to "balance" the universe in Infinity War. Which is a good comparison.

Shadow was always supposed to be the anti sonic, with guns of course.
@@artlibris3754 If Sonic 3 is going to be inspired by SA2, then they have to be careful because a lot happens. With Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow. Sonic, Eggman....etc and doing that in a maybe 2 hour movie might be hard. I just hope they don't fumble the movie up.

Both series have the same issue. Bad writers. The writers that actually see employment in big productions are from a very small pool of connected people. Very few of them are actually talented.

Tbh as a long time sonic fan, I could care less about the online reviews, and what critics think... this show was really incredible from start to finish! And I wish for them to make more in the future! This makes me more excited for what's to come in the next movie, and beyond!
Honestly, I don’t need knuckles to be in every frame and I don’t expect character arc to be even halfway finished through the series if they plan on making more of these. From what I understand it seems like a fun series.

But yeah! I’m aware of all of the criticisms.
For where Wade takes more of the spotlight, than Knuckles in his own TV show.
It’s a disappointing to know about.
But however, I do believe involving Knuckles will be entertaining enough throughout in the series.
If this is the new style of 3c films with new editing I love it but I’ll miss the old editing but I cannot wait to see more of this editing I love it man 🥳

I’m also gonna say while I like the new editing I do prefer your editing but that’s a me thing. I like a lot of simple stuff when it comes to my viewing of CZcams. Although the editing is really good though. I think for you channel hiring editors is probably a great step forward and I’m excited to see more from you and your channel
Agreed. The editing is good and maybe it’s because I’m used to Cris’ usual editing style but I much prefer the more simple editing that comes with his previous videos. Here I feel it is slightly overedited

I've seen the entire show and I gotta say it's not bad it's actually pretty good

Loved how both Wade and Knuckles have something to teach each other

But that doesn't mean it doesn't have problems
The later half of the show turns into Wade's show
The pacing isn't too great either
The buyer is a forgettable villain
The action scenes are too few and short
Wade's sister is an annoying character
And they straight up screwed the lore we love and care about

Knuckles was really enjoyable, funny, and reallyy great quality which was refreshing considering some low quality series we’ve been getting; but they definitely overshadowed Knuckles with Wade’s story at the end, but still happy with what we got

Honestly though, I’m still hoping to see this show soon. Obviously for Knuckles, but hopefully Wade is more tolerable than he was in the movies.
Whoever did the editing is a god, they did such a good job that i noticed something was IMMEDIATELY off, but in a good way!

I liked the show. I’m more of a Knuckles fan than Sonic. This is a good beginning to add depth to the character. Which was needed because I felt Knuckles was just thrown into Sonic 2 without any backstory. I don’t mind developing the human characters. As long as the screen time is balanced, and it makes sense. Here, it does make sense. Knuckles race was obliterated, and as the last of his kind, he was alone in the universe. Here comes Wade Wipple to be his first human friend on Earth. It gives Knuckles a sense of belonging. The family feud between Wade, and his father in my opinion is meant to tie human corruption for power. Wade’s father, abandoned his family, and once again turned his back against them for the sake for glory. Hence, the main villain of the show, wanted Knuckles power. So, the show made sense. If they do make a season 2, or a standalone series for Tails, it would be welcome. 💪🏽

as someone who has watched sonic 1-2 movies and the Knuckles series I didn’t really mind it I just liked the action and events it was quite good

Good review. The score you give it is appropriate. While I couldn't see it beating Sonic 2 as the best thing in the Sonic Cinematic Universe it was still a fun time that I think kids and families can get on board with. Hopefully the team behind the universe take the feedback for Knuckles and improve on the next Paramount + series to have more of the character the series is centered on. I mean they listen to the fans on Sonic's original design for the first movie and changed it so I'm sure they will listen to the feedback.
Also you had mentioned about how there weren't any hints to Sonic 3 and this is a mild spoiler but after Knuckles beats the guy after his power the judges pop out of hiding and one of them said "I don't think anything like this has happened before" then the second pops out and says "Actually I googled this and apparently something happened with an Alien in 1974." What year is it? 2024. How many years was 1974? 50. I'll leave you with that.

Probably the most fair review of this show I've seen. It is enjoyable and I got a few laughs and chuckles from the show. Hopefully they continue to develop their writing and make more compelling shows.

To be fair, Jeff Fowler has been very receptive towards fan feedback even before the first movie came out (its the whole reason sonic's design changed),so I trust they'll do better next time they do a series like this.

Ngl, i didn't expect much from the show since watching the trailer which is why i dont think its that bad. Seeing the show was going to only have 6 episodes I knew it wasn't gonna be as action packed or as good as the movies due to the fact that they wanted to save budget for Sonic 3. My only problem is that after Episode 3 we dont really see Knuckles as much anymore until the last episode and that the ending was kinda bitter because I wanted more . But i like how they make me actually care for Wade more in this show so ill give it a good 7/10
Honestly, even though it was pretty cheesy at points and silly… I thought it was pretty good! I like seeing more of knuckles and I like the relationship he built with Wade! Pretty solid to me 😎

It’s a good watch…when you forget it’s supposed to be a Knuckles show,this is the first time I’ve felt disappointed with a Sonic movie universe production,7/10 show,3/10 Knuckles show,it really feels like something made to appeal casual Paramount+ subscribers but forgot they also have to appeal to Knuckles/Sonic fans.
First episode and the scenes that actually happened to have Knuckles in them were awesome though.
It was about Wade’s bowling league. I would have thought to train him to be a better cop.
Man they could’ve written ANYTHING ELSE, other than the action, everything else involving Wade and his family, I was underwhealmed. Could’ve had something leading up to Sonic Movie 3 and more of Knuckles’ tribe, the villains, GUN, and overall a bit more action. I think even kids will be bored after episode 1 and before episode 6
Totally agree. I liked the anything with Knuckles fighting, whenever they dropped some crumbs of lore relating to the movies, and the main GUN villain guy with the giant robot suit. I wish there was more of him, and I wish there was more lore about Knuckles, the Echidnas, Angel Island, the Master Emerald, etc in general, i.e. the things his stories are known for in the games. And maybe even they could've explored and fleshed out GUN and planted some teases for Sonic 3 and Shadow. But nope... Nothing...
I started out with high hopes when I saw Sonic, Tails, and Maddie in ep 1as it felt just like the start of one of the movies, but then it just quickly fell off a cliff and became The Wade Show, some goofy sitcom about bowling and daddy issues with a bit of Sonic IP thrown in..
