I’ve owned a 2015 S3 for over 4 years now. Thermostat housing is likely needing to be replaced, common fault. Water pump probably needs replacing, lack of coolant is a telltale sign. Have a look at the plastic panel directly underneath the radiator to look for sign of coolant leak. The coolant leave a strange smell when leaking in a warm engine. You probably won’t see that given the car hasn’t been running. Probably worth doing while engine is out, wear and tear parts too so good for sale or whatever you do with the motor!! I really hope the rear diff isn’t noisy, once the car is running drop me a message of it is, I can give some pointers.

Hi there, just a small tip, if you will ever remove I4 engine from any VW group car (with the same engine layout as this, Golfs etc.) again, you don't need to pull the whole front. If you remove the subframe with both suspension arms you have a lot of space and it is just matter of disconnecting everythnig and dropping it straight down.

Its been clapped out with a tune and spun a bearing.. Thats what happens. You get a tune that is to much and you romp on it and it spins a bearing.. I just got a 2016 S3 with 71k on it and I love it.. Even stock its picks up and moves.. eventually i will source a good engine and build it with forged internals.

The blurry is the camera getting cold and the air from your breath and if you have a gas fire condensing on it. Grab yourself a cheap USB coffee cup warmer from eBay and sit the camera on that. It'll keep it warm enough to stop condensation forming on the lens.
