Many people miss this out, but Eren and Zeke's baseball ⚾ confirmation part is so so important. Eren didn't dropped because of his slow reflexes, it meant that Eren was never on same page with Zeke's plan. It was so cool how they brought that out.

One woman that was executed this way actually made an angry face when shown to the crowd. This is why the guillotine is not considered a humane execution method. This means Eren was still alive when Zeke caught his head.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what Isayama was going for. I think it's been somewhat proven that the severed head can live up to 30 seconds after being disconnected from the body, which is utterly insane if you think about it.

The poor Grice men/boys- all 3 of them betrayed by the 3 Jaeger men. Colt’s death was the saddest for me in the manga. The last shot you see of him and Falco was so heartbreaking. His and Moblito’s death probably hit me the hardest. Porco’s death in the anime surprisingly hit me more than I expected. Wow what an episode.

Probably someone already mentioned, but the reason why Zeke can freely move around in Paths, despite having the royal blood, is because he doesn't really have the founding titan. If he had the founding titan and entered Paths, he would then be chained and obey the vow of renouncing war. That's why he mentioned that Eren was the key. Eren has the founding titan, but he (Zeke) has the royal blood. So he knew he would not be tied to the vow if he managed to succeed and enter Paths. Eren can also move freely, since he doesn't have royal blood (as mentioned in this episode). At the end of the day, both of them were the key to each other
i always thought it was because zeke doesn’t directly descent from king fritz so the vow renouncing war that’s locked in his bloodline doesn’t affect him

However, Zeke got to avoid having to posses the founding titan himself, and thus he is the first royal member in the history to be able to move in the paths freely.

SPOILERS The first king from 2000 years ago who we will see in a couple episodes and then king Fritz who fled to paradise island to the walls only 100 or so years ago. Dina Fritz is a descendent from the original king obviously but not from king Fritz of the walls so she is not one of his children affected by the vow. This was just my interpretation of it, I could be wrong.
The pure titans in this episode you’ll notice aren’t like the pure titans we’re used to seeing. Similar to the 30 soldiers Zeke turned into titans, he has full control over them. This essentially means that all the titans in this episode are abnormal (hence the peeking around corners, running, and of course answering to Zeke’s commands.)

The reason zeke figured out eren, was because right before he was about to scream eren is the one that stops him when he says “wait” not colt. Zeke notices eren isn’t willing to sacrifice his eldian people for the cause which makes zeke suspicious.
I think Eren is already put back together from what I understand. That’s why Zeke was waiting for so long. They entered the paths at the same times but Zeke had to wait awhile till Eren was put back together. That’s just my interpretation tho, I’m an anime only.

If I remember correctly, I think Eren is still headless in reality (in Shiganshina), but would have a body to return to (courtesy of Ymir) upon leaving Paths. His body didn't rematerialise as it was being built by Ymir in Paths, since everything occurring in Paths right now is happening in the single second of contact when Zeke catches his head. So, we need to see Eren return from Paths to see if he is alive and in one piece.
Zeke is smarter than anyone, I don't how some ppl don't realize that, officially his intelligence level is 11/10 the only problem is that he underestimates opponent sometimes that has happened twice with Levi
Episode dedicated to you guys!! You know one of the craziest things I noticed: Both the Galliard Brothers were jaw titans and were eaten by dumb titans while trying to protect Reiner! SOOOO Poetic!!
The literal translation of the title is "Older Brother, Younger Brother", which I think makes a little more sense (with the tradeoff of being slightly less idiomatic in English)
Marcel threw his fellow warrior candidate Reiner under the bus to protect his younger brother Porco from having to risk his life on the battlefield just to die 13 years later. Colt who wanted to do the same with Gabi embraced Falco just as Zeke screamed as he was willing to die together with him, disregarding his own life. And Zeke who trusted in Eren and loved him as his little brother responded to Colt's pleas to spare Falco's life with how he too, cared for his own sibling and screamed anyway. The harrowing nature of shingeki never ceases to leave an impact, as with this chilling scene where one of each pair of brothers lost their lives at the gates of Shiganshina...
This episode has got to be one of the best episodes of aot so far. I read the manga but this episode had me at the tip of my chair the entire time, incredible work from Mappa i must say. Yall just watched the start of one of the greatest arcs in television history. These next few episodes will simply be incredible
when eren was running he looked so young, and he was running exactly like he would when he was way younger when going to protect armin from the bullies.. made me sad tbh

From my understanding, Zeke was conscience in the "Paths" the moment he caught Eren's head... maybe he had been waiting there until Ymir healed Eren's body
Another parallel might be Eren dropping the baseball showing he doesn't go along with Zeke's plan. At the same time Zeke catches Eren's head showing Zeke still has Eren's back as an older brother and wants a real connection with Eren
Why I made this ep my no.1 episode of Attack on Titan or maybe even amongst all anime.... Porco protecting gabi and falco from part 1 , gabi and falco calling reiner to save galliard shows how much he cared for them... Nile's last moments , he wished to see his daughters and so in memory of his daughters he let falco go.... pyxis's last moments , As the commander he always chose to lead his people to victory no matter the cost from season 1 . When eren was a unknown titan shifter he let eren go reclaim trost and so in this ep He lead a suicide charge against marley... Porco's last moments , He wanted to prove that he was worthy of the armour but instead got the jaw ...his brothers jaw ... , during his last moments he tapped into his brothers memories and saw that he was the better man ... and so in the end he did what his brother did a long time ago... protected reiner and falco.....
To clarify WHY Zeke had to wait this long (It's not a spoiler). They entered the "paths" at the same time when they touched. As you saw, Zeke only touched his head, therefore, only the head is in the paths. Now in the paths, Zeke was waiting for Eren to heal his body. Time is different in this realm, hence Zeke's accelerated aging. Long spans of time can feel like an instant, short spans can feel like an eternity. Zeke describes this part of the paths when he got rebuild by Ymir.

I'm not gonna lie.. I've hated Porco this entire time even though I understood his character and the reason for his character. BUT his death was beautiful. Perfect even. This entire episode was a masterpiece honestly. Great reaction bros 🤘
For a Season 4-introduced (/kinda Season 3) side-character who mostly just got beat up a lot, Galliard sure left a hell of an impression. Granted it helps when he goes out as nobly and selflessly as Ymir and Marcel before him, and even gets to deliver a badass speech.
Its always great to watch the episode alone first and then come back and watch them with your reactions. I completely binged the channel and it was like having some good friends with me re-watching the series. Look forward to the future vids!
As you mentioned, the time in Paths (that location Eren is right now) flows differently as the time in the normal word. An instant in the normal world means years in Paths. So between the moment in which Zeke touched Eren's head, and Eren waking up, Zeke waited years. The same is valid for when Ymir is creating the titans. She spends years in Paths sculpturing the titans, while only an instant has passed in the real world, when all those titans are then summoned.
I imagine Ymir to Zeke be like: "How rude!!! I make you come back to life and all of a sudden you make me build tons of pure titans?!! It took me like 50 years to mold all of them you bastard!!"🤣
the usual squad that always take the center of the action scenes in every arc are sidelined. AOT shine with or without actions. but that's why i love this chapter so much. it goes to show that even minor characters elevates a chapter/episode, and this chapter alone has way too many peak moments it's crazy. this is a personal top 5 chapter for me that i almost jumped on my seat way too many times when i read this at 3am.
I'm glad you pointed out that apart from Erens stuff at the end, what easily carried the first half of the episode with no effort was the side characters and their relationships/situations.
@@TokyoKazama that's right it's so underappreciated, and one thing I love about this chapter is the fact that, this is the biggest arc composed atleast 95% of the named casts. the fact that every single one of their stories were fluid in this arc is so wild to me. they're not just, "fighting on the sides", Colt, Nile etc all have their best moments.
The next episode is probably going to change everything you know about this series. The twist that will come up will make the basement reveal look like a minor plot point. As a manga reader I can’t wait for you guys to react to it !!!
Japanese title for this episode really written "Aniki to Ottoto" means "Older Brother and Younger Brother". And when you realize that's not only apply for Zeke and Eren, but Marcel and Porco, also Colt and Falco. RIP both Porco and Colt.
Eren: You thought I was on your side but I was actually tricking you the entire time. Zeke: You thought I didn't know you were tricking me. But I outsmarted your outsmarting by planning ahead. You thought it was you who was in control, but it was I, Zeke! On a serious note, Zeke is very intelligent. The moment Eren didn't catch the baseball, he knew something was up. Because that symbolized them being on the same page. And so, Zeke wanted to believe Eren was on the same page as him, but in the back of his mind, he had doubts. And I like that he didn't have blind faith in Eren but approached the situation cautiously. Jaw Titans love sacrificing themselves for Reiner. Zeke with the catch of the century. Also, fun fact, some of the snippets of images before Eren got into the paths were actually cameos from volume extras in the manga. Along with one image being the AOT men in a sauna. So that's nice.

just to clarify, Eren didn't instantly appear with his full body there. As you saw, Ymir was slowly building zeke back when he was there before. however he was conscious because only the lower part of his body needed building back. Eren however got there with no head and therefore was not conscious. Ymir built the head back and eren woke up after which is from the point we see him there, they just didn't show his head being built back. but ofc as they explained it takes a ton of time to do in the "paths" world. This is why Zeke says he waited what felt like years for him to "wake" up. He wasn't there since the time he tried to kill Levi. he just got there when he touched eren's head but had to wait a long time for eren to wake up.

兄と弟actually means "Older brother & Younger brother" so the Jaegers, the Grices, and the Galliards are all included. Even Reiner and Gabi to some extent.
And in each one of these pairs of brothers, the older one wants to save/protect the younger one: Marcel wanted to protect Porco, Colt wanted to save Falco, and now Zeke wants to save Eren from the influence of Grisha.
When I knew the name of the episode I automatically think "This is gonna be a perfect reaction for 2Brothers React" and being such a great episode just made it even better!

The reason zeke figured out eren, was because right before he was about to scream eren is the one that stops him when he says “wait” not colt. Zeke notices eren isn’t willing to sacrifice his eldian people for the cause which makes zeke suspicious.
and the baseball scene too, Eren not catching the ball and dropping it then you see Zeke face being sus and all, my theory only tho 🙊

I think Eren is already put back together from what I understand. That’s why Zeke was waiting for so long. They entered the paths at the same times but Zeke had to wait awhile till Eren was put back together. That’s just my interpretation tho, I’m an anime only.
I'm anime only too but I think it's completely obvious that it is like that. There are soo many reactor who didn't get it but it's literally the first thing Zeke says to Eren in the paths

If I remember correctly, I think Eren is still headless in reality (in Shiganshina), but would have a body to return to (courtesy of Ymir) upon leaving Paths. His body didn't rematerialise as it was being built by Ymir in Paths, since everything occurring in Paths right now is happening in the single second of contact when Zeke catches his head. So, we need to see Eren return from Paths to see if he is alive and in one piece.

You know one of the craziest things I noticed: Both the Galliard Brothers were jaw titans and were eaten by dumb titans while trying to protect Reiner! SOOOO Poetic!!
The literal translation of the title is "Older Brother, Younger Brother", which I think makes a little more sense (with the tradeoff of being slightly less idiomatic in English)
it also makes sense because it could relate to more than just Eren and Zeke, that being: Colt and Falco, Porco and Marcel
Marcel threw his fellow warrior candidate Reiner under the bus to protect his younger brother Porco from having to risk his life on the battlefield just to die 13 years later.
Colt who wanted to do the same with Gabi embraced Falco just as Zeke screamed as he was willing to die together with him, disregarding his own life.
And Zeke who trusted in Eren and loved him as his little brother responded to Colt's pleas to spare Falco's life with how he too, cared for his own sibling and screamed anyway.
The harrowing nature of shingeki never ceases to leave an impact, as with this chilling scene where one of each pair of brothers lost their lives at the gates of Shiganshina...
This episode has got to be one of the best episodes of aot so far. I read the manga but this episode had me at the tip of my chair the entire time, incredible work from Mappa i must say. Yall just watched the start of one of the greatest arcs in television history. These next few episodes will simply be incredible

when eren was running he looked so young, and he was running exactly like he would when he was way younger when going to protect armin from the bullies.. made me sad tbh
I highly advise you to watch all memory fragments , one by one.

From my understanding, Zeke was conscience in the "Paths" the moment he caught Eren's head... maybe he had been waiting there until Ymir healed Eren's body
Another parallel might be Eren dropping the baseball showing he doesn't go along with Zeke's plan. At the same time Zeke catches Eren's head showing Zeke still has Eren's back as an older brother and wants a real connection with Eren

Why I made this ep my no.1 episode of Attack on Titan or maybe even amongst all anime....
Porco protecting gabi and falco from part 1 , gabi and falco calling reiner to save galliard shows how much he cared for them...
Nile's last moments , he wished to see his daughters and so in memory of his daughters he let falco go....
pyxis's last moments , As the commander he always chose to lead his people to victory no matter the cost from season 1 . When eren was a unknown titan shifter he let eren go reclaim trost and so in this ep He lead a suicide charge against marley...
Porco's last moments , He wanted to prove that he was worthy of the armour but instead got the jaw ...his brothers jaw ... , during his last moments he tapped into his brothers memories and saw that he was the better man ... and so in the end he did what his brother did a long time ago... protected reiner and falco.....

The way the title card flashes to "Two brothers" and they both look at each other is so wholesome
To clarify WHY Zeke had to wait this long (It's not a spoiler).
They entered the "paths" at the same time when they touched. As you saw, Zeke only touched his head, therefore, only the head is in the paths. Now in the paths, Zeke was waiting for Eren to heal his body. Time is different in this realm, hence Zeke's accelerated aging. Long spans of time can feel like an instant, short spans can feel like an eternity. Zeke describes this part of the paths when he got rebuild by Ymir.

Eren enter the Paths now with only his Head, and also one of the reasons Zeke were brought back is because he has royal blood and like Zeke said in the Episode Ymir is a slave of his blood... As you mentioned, the time in Paths (that location Eren is right now) flows differently as the time in the normal word. An instant in the normal world means years in Paths. So between the moment in which Zeke touched Eren's head, and Eren waking up, Zeke waited years. The same is valid for when Ymir is creating the titans. She spends years in Paths sculpturing the titans, while only an instant has passed in the real world, when all those titans are then summoned.
I imagine Ymir to Zeke be like: "How rude!!! I make you come back to life and all of a sudden you make me build tons of pure titans?!! It took me like 50 years to mold all of them you bastard!!"🤣

the usual squad that always take the center of the action scenes in every arc are sidelined. AOT shine with or without actions. but that's why i love this chapter so much. it goes to show that even minor characters elevates a chapter/episode, and this chapter alone has way too many peak moments it's crazy. this is a personal top 5 chapter for me that i almost jumped on my seat way too many times when i read this at 3am.
I'm glad you pointed out that apart from Erens stuff at the end, what easily carried the first half of the episode with no effort was the side characters and their relationships/situations.
@@TokyoKazama that's right it's so underappreciated, and one thing I love about this chapter is the fact that, this is the biggest arc composed atleast 95% of the named casts. the fact that every single one of their stories were fluid in this arc is so wild to me. they're not just, "fighting on the sides", Colt, Nile etc all have their best moments.
The next episode is probably going to change everything you know about this series. The twist that will come up will make the basement reveal look like a minor plot point. As a manga reader I can’t wait for you guys to react to it !!!

On a serious note, Zeke is very intelligent. The moment Eren didn't catch the baseball, he knew something was up. Because that symbolized them being on the same page. And so, Zeke wanted to believe Eren was on the same page as him, but in the back of his mind, he had doubts. And I like that he didn't have blind faith in Eren but approached the situation cautiously.
Jaw Titans love sacrificing themselves for Reiner. Zeke with the catch of the century.
Also, fun fact, some of the snippets of images before Eren got into the paths were actually cameos from volume extras in the manga. Along with one image being the AOT men in a sauna. So that's nice.

just to clarify, Eren didn't instantly appear with his full body there. As you saw, Ymir was slowly building zeke back when he was there before. however he was conscious because only the lower part of his body needed building back. Eren however got there with no head and therefore was not conscious. Ymir built the head back and eren woke up after which is from the point we see him there, they just didn't show his head being built back. but ofc as they explained it takes a ton of time to do in the "paths" world. This is why Zeke says he waited what felt like years for him to "wake" up. He wasn't there since the time he tried to kill Levi. he just got there when he touched eren's head but had to wait a long time for eren to wake up.

兄と弟actually means "Older brother & Younger brother" so the Jaegers, the Grices, and the Galliards are all included. Even Reiner and Gabi to some extent.
And in each one of these pairs of brothers, the older one wants to save/protect the younger one: Marcel wanted to protect Porco, Colt wanted to save Falco, and now Zeke wants to save Eren from the influence of Grisha.
