The style is called "Modern Farmhouse." It's a Joanna Gaines inspired trend, which I think will immediately feel dated as soon as it goes "out." It'll be what we think of as late 2010's in future years.
Absolutely agree... in some areas it's been so overdone that it's already starting to feel dated.

The scale is always off indeed, but it does help if you actually make the builds bigger. That mitigates the scale a bit and helps it look better too. When you try to recreate a big house as small as possible, the fact that the scale is off is even more apparent.
Nice! I know the community asks for unfurnished houses from time to time, so I hope this makes a select audience very happy

why do people ask for unfurnished houses if when you find a good looking house on the gallery you can just choose to download it furnished or not and then do it yourself?
@@lasanhacemcem4913 because some items that aren’t really furniture are counted as such when you select unfurnished, meaning the house isn’t really finished anymore
@@alexwohlgemuth4099 exactly, and it also takes time to sell the furniture yourself, specially because you don't get the amount of simoleons you would get if the unfurnished option were better

Almost every house I’ve ever used is either downloaded, from the gallery, or built by my but I ALWAYS build from Pinterest

I hate platforms but they're really good for adding interesting shape to houses. But sometimes you have that bug where its like looking into the void when you get a glitch. It's not as bad as all your items jumping into the household inventory when you build without MOO on.
@JackWrath3.. No dude. Really you're not! I doubt you do even a fraction of the work Kayla Sims does for the community. Her work on The Sims coupled with her tireless charity work means you can never be 'better than lilsimsie'. Of course you're just a bot and your a.i. seems to comment on every video.
You should try building a house but each room is the same size. So you just generate a random size and every room is going to be the exact same size and shape.
Exact same size seems fun, but changing shape would be better. It'd be like playing tetris with a house and that sounds cool

maybe random tiles? so a 4x5 is 20, you could reshape those 20 into a 3x4 with 2x8 long hallway bit, or dip in the middle of two sides for a H shaped room of 20 tiles?
On the front porch, the columns matched to the height of the platform because they were placed before the platform was raised (since simsie started with the foundation and changed it to the platforms). On the back porch, the reason why the columns didn't look the same as the ones on the front is because the platform was built first and then the columns were added. Hope this helps!
Here’s a fun idea: search real houses, recreate the house, furnish/ design it how you would assume it SHOULD look, then look back at thr actual photos of inside thr house to see how your layout differed
the red door is such a big feature and focal point of the house, I'm sad you didn't account for that. bet there would be a decent door in game. the shape is almost secondary

That backyard porch problem can be solved by deleting the columns as well as the platform and then adding the platform again and after adding said platform you add the columns you want. It's a little bit tricky, but that's how I deal with that problem!
To me it usually works when I delete the platform, put a square foundation down, then the columns, then raise the platform again.

It’s because the proportions seem off
It's actually the paint on the platform that prevents the stairs from being placed. I know, a pain, but I had the same issue on a build a month or so back. Fixed the issue by deleting the platform, placing a new platform, then the stairs, then painted the platform. **sigh** Then when I changed my mind on the stairs, I had to re-do the entire process several times.
Could you build like a casual Island Living home. So like not traditional, kind of like the NSB purple gen tiny house!! Keep up the great work!

Kayla could find rooms to try and recreate!! or any other type of buildings like shops, parks, pools, and other community places! pinterest has so much content (a lot, unfortunately, stolen)
It may be glitchy, but this house is enchanting. It seems like something Miss Honey (Matilda) would dream of.

I'd really like you to build a manor house of Polish nobility (dworek szlachecki). These manors were built in the countryside where people might enjoy the nature and cultivate tradition. They are really characteristic and pretty. They just have their own charm.

i know kayla posted this like 10 days ago so she probably won’t see this but a fun video idea would be to search Pinterest for house and then make the inside of the house look like the first imagine, search for kitchen and make the kitchen look like the first image, search living room, master bedroom etc. :-)
I did this same house about a year or more ago, some what similar but interesting how people can view the same picture and focus on different points of the house. Great job!

I’ve been loving building the garage, using an eco life door to simulate a garage door. But when decorating I fill it with hobby stations. Like laundry, or a workout station, flower arrangement, or workshop bench. Makes it feel a tad more real lol

I had the same problem with stairs and platforms, and I think it really depends on which platform style you're choosing - the one you chose has this protruding thing at the top. If you pick one of the flatter ones (like the default) it should allow you to put stairs there. I know, it confuses me too, since this doesn't seem to be the problem when you use the raised foundation.
You could be an architect fr you pay so close attention to just the small details of building and you have a good eye for styling😊😊😊

Dear LilSimsie, I feel like you should take a shot at the house from Boy Meets World. There's quite the controversy regarding the layout and where the yards go. Maybe a series of TV houses?
i thought you were going to look up "living room" "bed room" etc and furnish the rooms based on whatever photo comes up
The game does this weird thing with platforms where it like, thinks its a solid object even after you've moved it. So it's still there when it's definitely Not There.
The platforms are great... but are also super frustrating at the same time, especially when you use them outside of simple uses (like a raised bed platform)
The reason the column wasn't jumping was because you put the columns in the front down BEFORE you raised the platform up. So they raised themselves

you should do full pinterest house like search bedroom on pinterest and recreate first picture
for future reference, if you place the columns before you raise a platform, the columns will jump up with the platform, thats why it worked at the front

the house has three parts on the right side thats why your scale was kinda off in the sims! you supposed to add 2 squared walls and a little window, and the part that you put roof windows on

Freaky - I made this exact house (or rather, a similar house based on the exact same picture) a few years ago! Amazing how mine is so different from this one, despite being based on the same inspiration.

I think the way to get the columns, is to place the column and THEN raise the platform - it should raise the column with the platform. I’m pretty sure that’s how I’ve done it, and what you did in the front.
Pinterest is amazing.. The amount of inspo I get from just looking up "family home" is unprecedented
EA, please, add a neutral lighting for build mode. Then you can switch back and forth from the world lighting to the neutral one.
