Someone at EA is absolutely IN LOVE with that terrible, vibrant cinnamon wood color. Every pack has at least one set with this swatch, I swear. I've been playing this game for 8 years and haven't found this color usable ONCE. Sometimes I genuinely think the devs are colorblind and see the shades differently, but aren't aware of it.

It's because some people actually like dark hardwoods and don't have all their aesthetic opinions determined by what the latest HGTV trend is. I know a lot of people who *GASP* like wood panelling, too.
@@thisdude9363 I love a good dark cherry hardwood, wood paneling can be a nice touch too. But with the swatches in the game, the orange toned wood doesn’t go with anything. They try to push these wood tones while also releasing the same mid century modern items in packs (tiny living, dream home decorator, etc). It’s just really difficult to make it work with the other items they release, and doesn’t even look good like these items can irl. Don’t get mad at people for pointing that out. We’re sick of the midcentury modern, light stain woods too, but if they’re releasing THIS as dark wood, it’s not ideal.

I dunno why, but this is probably one of my favorite builds of yours in a while. There's something very homey and cozy about it, like I could actually see this house existing in real life and me living in it

Agreed! In fact I kind of do live here. the exterior actually looks like my house! Mine's a bit smaller and gray, but now I might need get famous so I can have those wall shingles. My house definitely has those exact shingles in gray

I really love when you don't give yourself a money budget because I love seeing the full potential of your creativity and designs when you aren't limited. It's fun sometimes to have a challenge with a budget but I watch your videos to see your designs and different things rather than the same cheap objects everytime. It feels so cosy to just watch you decorate with whatever you're drawn to in the moment, please more like this!! ❤️

And honestly 70,000 for a 3 bedroom, could easily be a 4 bedroom, isn't bad at all. I was getting annoyed the other day, my Sim had saved up like 80,000-90,000, but all the builds I were finding were either starters or 200,000+. I was proud of my 90,000, darn it! 🤣

Kayla, you realize people can always download builds off gallery even if they don't have all the packs, right? The game auto-replaces objects, which can be annoying with huge houses, but if it deleted/replaced a few light switches and soap bars I don't think anyone would find this house unusable.
My favorite was a build that had dividers from Dine Out that look like a circular window - I didn't have Dine Out yet, and they were replaced with garden gnomes. I was so confused where all these gnomes came from. 😄
But I don't have the clutter kit, and I've never had problems downloading builds that use it. I'm guessing for clutter they just omit the item instead of offering a replacement.
@@ILuvAyeAye My experience is that it depends on the item. A lot of rugs get replaced with the base game bathmat for some reason.
I think simsie has at this point forgotten that the sims does that because since she has all of the packs it never gives her that pop up, she has now forgotten that the sims will replace/remove items from a build if you don’t have a used pack,
i get why you would think this but i think she was more saying it in a way that like it would be nice if people could download this house without worrying about not having the pack. but idk!
Please build a house based on that weird light up column they just updated from city living.

10:42 Idk if this is common knowledge but for alt placing objects on desks or other surfaces I like to first completely fill up the slots on the desk (with some random objects) and then alt place clutter that I actually want. That way the clutter won't jump around and you can actually see where on the surface ur placing the stuff! and then afterward u just have to delete the "placeholders"

I understand why you always make builds basegame or as close to basegame as you can, and it's really nice. Not everyone has or even wants all the packs, and I know I've been pretty frustrated to see builders do really cool builds using items from packs I didn't have/want. However, sometimes I wish you'd make more builds where you don't worry about packs, especially since you can still download a lot or even sims regardless of whether you have all the packs used. It'll just load in without those items and can be replaced by another object.
I feel she's been doing better lately trying to build both types of builds! Ones that are playable for most players AND ones that she has total creative freedom over.

I love how she showed us example houses, and said how they either won't work in the Sims or that she doesn't like, even though they strongly resemble houses she has built.

I’ve never seen you do this, Kayla, but the dollhouses can be sized down until they are only 1 tile big and they are still completely usable. It could be a nice space saver.
You should listen to a voice over of one of your old videos doing a build to see if you could your new build similar to the old one !! (I hope that makes sense)

aaaah this was so refreshing to watch, i love that there was no budget. as someone who is very fortunate to own a vast majority of packs i would LOVE to see a build where you dont restrict yourself with packs at all. just once, i really wanna download and use a build just the way you made it without “having” to add many items that came with packs.

Okay, I hope you’ll see this, Kayla☺️ I was just wondering if you’d ever consider building houses in different kinds of European styles? Because many of them are drastically different from the classic wooden American ones - and that might be a fun challenge? Like maybe Danish, Irish, Romanian, Greek or French styles? There are so many countries over here with so many cultures and so much history behind the architecture😊 however I absolutely LOVE ALL your building videos and I bow to you in respect of your abilities🙏🏻

Using the same floor for every room in the house is one of my bugbears. Every time you use it. It doesn't help with the creativity and the realism of each build. I've never seen a house IRL where every room has the same floor! Switch it up simsie! It'll help you out!

This is pretty random, but I would absolutely love to watch you build a castle with no pack limits! But there has to be atleast 2 stories and a basement (second floor and basement can be as big or small as you want tho) there has to be a dungeon!

Absolutely not ridiculous. You have that swatch in your game, so you should use it as much as you want. Planning to build around good items that you don't often use sounds like an excellent way to enjoy your game.
