Thanks Cutie beautiful chicks. I’m going to wait until spring to get some more. Only a few this time but it was so hard to choose just a few last time I ended up with about 50 or so. Some were chosen for their egg color, some were chosen for their temperament and others were chosen for their hardiness through the winter months. I’m going to concentrate on their productivity this time. Lots of eggs fewer chickens. Good luck with your brood.🌺💚🙃

Did the baby chick you lost have poop stuck to it’s butt? They sometimes don’t drink enough water or haven’t learned to drink water and they get a pasty butt. About ten years ago my husband worked for a chicken grower and when he had to work the weekends and they had baby chicks come in I would go with him and help check for pasty butt. You had to physically peal the stuck poop off their butt or they would die. It always felt great to know that you helped save a baby chick.🌺💚🙃
No not this particular chick but two of the Americanas did and that was an experience lol
@@TheThriftedPlanter I used to pluck poop off baby chicks regularly. My husband worked for a grower, he would get them to I think 16 weeks and then ship them out and start all over again with baby chicks. I loved those baby chicks, 100’s of them running around in huge barns it was so much fun watching them run around, a sea of baby yellow chicks. 🌺💚🙃

They are doing really good! They are almost 1 years old now and laying eggs
