- Alabama has some incredibly beautiful locations that also happen to have fossils! This is one of them. Beautiful scenery along with some of my favorite types of fossils to find. Plant fossils from the Carboniferous Period which was around 350 million years ago!

So nice to see a stream not overflowing with trash. That field at the end was beautiful.
I've loved your channel since i found it. My family thinks I'm crazy because I talk about you like a friend. Thank you for sharing your life and adventures.
Just want to let you know Kyle I love your personality and how you get excited when you find something big or small, old or newer, colour or pattern. Best shows when you and Paleocris is with you, you 2 appear to have a special friendship and you both show joy for each other when you dig up something new. I’ve got my partner watching you now and we seem to talk more to each other and we are going to start rock hunting too. Just please, please always be yourself because you are so refreshing to watch. With a smile on my face I will continue watching this clip. Love your channel. Cindy
That was a beautiful creek, nice and unpolluted with no trash anywhere to be seen. That turtle sure was a big boy. Definitely looks like it was a great time out there
I didn't see a single piece of trash! I loved that about this creek. Nice and untouched!
They are interesting little creatures, little snails they’re so slow that you wonder how they even survives it’s funny some of them have really pretty shells to. I enjoy your adventure today it makes me want to get out and do things. Thank you Kyle and Natalie for a great adventure and look at those eyes on that snail so far above his body and what a stretch on the thing don’t you wish you could just stretch oh my God thanks for a wonderful day.❤❤❤❤❤
Great to see the outdoors without trash! A beautiful spot.
The narrow oval shaped Calamites along with ones that have ridges are the result of compression. They must have been Calamites trunks buried in a prostrate position that were squished by the pressure of the sediment on top of it.
Oh my, I love the sound of water in the forest. What a beautifully relaxing video.
What a great location for a Fall fossil hunt, it's so pretty! :-)
Hello mirkatu
Great video! I’m glad no rabbits ran out or we’d never see Kyle again!
I watch your channel like I know what I am looking at what is calamit but I love the channel and Kyle talk so funny
I have always wanted a piece of property with a creek running through it. The one in your video is beautiful. I've never seen a snail out of it's shell like that. It was fascinating.
That Snail was amazing as well as the turtle.✌❤❤
I love seeing them both so much!
That was my favorite part of the day ❤
What a beautiful area you are walking in, I wish I could find places like where you are, I have a chronic disease that prevents me from hiking and camping! Luckily my children are ages of 50 and 48 so they take me to lots of places that are different from when I was younger which is just great🤭☺️😘
Aww I love that they take you out to meet places! That is great!
Hi Guys, beautiful place. You all got some really nice pieces out there.
Take care and stay safe till next. ❤❤
That snail figured he give a good performance for the camera!! 😂
Kyle, you didn't help Natalie down! You found a great swimming hole with a water fall! That is a snapping turtle that will take your hand with him Kyle ! Great video! Love you two!
Great day out, adventuring and finding fossils.
What you’re seeing at 19:00 in is a conglomerate. I think that it is the Pottsville Formation, which is primarily made up of sand and gravel that was deposited by braided streams. It’s essentially just lithified river rocks deposited in channels or gravel deposited along alluvial fans where a river floods its banks.
What a lovely walk...great fossils and a wonderful turtle :)
That was a common snapping turtle, but definitely a mature one!
I'd still be trying to haul up one of those HUGE flat rocks!
Beautiful area, way better than the trashie creeks.
I love that you guys appreciate nature so much!
Awesome outing,y'all 😃👍!!!
Looks like a fun time for sure !!!!
What a gorgeous area! And you guys found a ton of super cool fossils! Even better! Lol! Man those were some gorgeous calamities and the stigmaria root was just awesome! And that big old snapping turtle was amazing! He was a big boy too! That's the size you want to be careful where you are walking because he could snap your leg in two! And your friend the snail was just gorgeous! He was sooo big! And were those, a second set of eyes? Totally awesome day! And even if you hadn't found a single fossil, it would have been just an awesome day. So beautiful and cool animal friends! And fossils! Yay! Thanks for sharing Kyle, and it's always good to see Natalie with you❣️💗
Y'all should do calcite shell crystal hunting with Chris and Bri. Also, do some polishing videos
Absolutely love your videos! We have snappers that live in our pond. They come up and lay eggs in our front yard. One year one got in my garden. I had to remover her because she was tearing it up laying eggs. You wouldn’t believe the range their necks have. Very dangerous but beautiful creatures!
Not does Alabama have a diversify of fossils, but it has its share of Living Fossils as well! Cool finds and encounters with out nature!
I can't believe you didn't find Native American artifacts in some of those creeks, they looked perfect! I absolutely loved the fossils all of you found, wow, there are some real beauties in your finds! Thank you all for a great adventure! Have a wonderful week!
Thanks Julianne! I'm surprised we didn't find any Native American artifacts too!
What a beautiful area you have explored! I love the way you appreciate everything you see.
Everything you all find is just amazing. Stay happy and stay beautiful. ☮️🫶😃🙏
What was really nice to see was NO Garbage!!
Hi Kyle & Natalie, say hello to Brian, hope you find some great ones.
Thank you! ❤️
Another great video.! Scenery, wildlife and rocks! Thank you! 😊
Thank you Debi! Glad you enjoyed it!
Yea! Kyle and Natalie!
❤️❤️❤️
If you stumble onto any very large copper pots on the edge of those creeks you should get away quickly. LOL Great video.
Awesome views.
they look like giant asparagus segments....tasty. 😄😋
Helle girle
What an absolutely gorgeous place. It is really beautiful there. Thank you so much for sharing. It's almost like I'm there. Wow on the turtle. Isn't he or she grand! Must call him squat 😂
Love that beautiful snail. He looks like he's got one of those hippy crocheted hat. You know the the big baggy ones.
Thank you Roberta! It really is such a beautiful location. I loved the wildlife and scenery. ❤️
Gorgeous are with great finds.
Very nice video. Thanks.
That's so cool
😎😎😎
I wish I had even one of these you get. I never got one.
I mean including collecting my whole life as a kid RockHound.
Really great video!!! Wonderful creeks! Cool turtle!
Now ,that I know what I found ,ill have to look in my various rock collections for the calamites I'd found .
Such a great adventure! Loved it. When you went into the ravine by yourself, I was waiting for Bigfoot to come out. Lol
Thank you Marybeth! I also was waiting for bigfoot to come out 😂
those r soo amazing!!!
I saw you on another river walkers channel, with headstones in the water. I sure want to know if they are returned to the graves. That rocky creek reminds me of hidden beauties in Tennessee.
Hey from Upstate NY, always a super video. Take care and be safe.
Thank you!
That was so fun...such a beautiful little creek!
Thank you Wendi! I loved that little creek. It was beautiful!
Another amazing video. But I wish that you would have given us an explanation of what you are finding. I enjoy learning about the fossils, but didn't really know what you were looking for.
Awesome video! The beauty of where you were was astounding! I'm thinking I would watch y'all read the dictionary and still enjoy it 😂
Thanks so much Julee! ❤️
Love ur hunts👍❤️really intresting finds u 2..ööö 3😁👍❤️👋🇫🇮
Thank you! ❤️
🙏❤💕❤💕❤👍
Massive common snapper!
He was a BIG boy!
♥
lol you’re taking your Tacoma to places like where I go too with mine. Man, I wish I could find some of the awesome things you two always find together
The Tacoma is good for going all sorts of places that's for sure!
@@WILDKYLE yes it is, especially when rock hounding
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
Watched the video and when you discovered the cement like rock with the quartz in it I just had to look up that there where ancient Volcanoes in Alabama so that stone could be an ancient lava flow.
Might be gold in them hills. amongst these quarts and compressed areas
Nice bed of conglomerate there .
all those plant fossils, then a LIVING fossil!
Yes definitely!!!
A beautiful site, finding a site not littered with garbage is a rarity
Truth is there should be thousands of animals everywhere. There used to be. It's terrible that people are not stopping and at least trying to save some of the wild animals
"Live action! Yi-yi-yi-yi-yi!!" Where's Ernie the Turtleman when you need him?!! 😂
Are there such things as paper weights anymore? Because I'd definitely use it for a display paper weight! Those things are beautiful.
They definitely would be perfect for that!
Do you ever try panning gold in Alabama? There's awesome little pay streaks in some of the creeks...
Never tried it yet! That would be fun!
@@WILDKYLE I couldn't tell you how many times I've panned gold from Alabama creek's... if you're game, I'd love to meet up w/ya one weekend and do a collab video with you panning in Alabama 🤷♂️
🤣👍
I keep thinking your finding bone not plant😂
Hello, does anyone know where a rich frog keeps all his money??? Well, in the "river bank"!!!😊 Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
What were all the pink flags? Sadly here where I live the pink flags mean another 700 or so new apartment buildings 😢
You had some great finds. Such a pretty area
I'm not entirely sure what those are marking. This area is part of a WMA so hopefully it doesn't mean apartments 😭
Let's keep our fingers crossed
Hi Kyle As always, I LOVE your videos Such amazing finds! Any idea as to why the area is flagged/marked off though?? I feel concerned about the possibility of the beautiful fossil grounds being destroyed. It could just be marking the wash for safety, but likely not? I guess I just worry (yes I do) about losing more of nature. @ 18:00 how nice and refreshing would it be to cool off in the deep spot at that waterfall in warm/hot weather! Gorgeous!!! How much longer did y'all actually stay and watch the adorable and fascinating snail off camera? I LOVED it! I loved seeing him and the snapping turtle. Nature is so amazing!
Maybe some got knocked down and flattened by fighting dinosaurs?🦖🦕
Hello tula
So, have you ever tried to cut and polish any of these?
These are inside casts, so the detail is only on the outside. So unfortunately I don't think there would really be any point to cut and polish them.
That seems to be an unusual place for a snapping turtle. Maybe it got washed down during some flooding?
Will the top and bottom take a shine? I was wondering if it would be like coral if shined up to see any inside patterns?
They are inside casts of the plants so unfortunately there is no grain going through. The patterns are only on the outside.
What region of Alabama is this? I was doing some fossil hunting around Birmingham and out towards Coalville. I found some decent stuff in the Cahaba near a small dam, but nothing after that.
This was near Birmingham!
You missed one right there.
What kind of field, rock slide, terrain or creek can these fossils be found? I’m in North Georgia, around Chattanooga. Just wondering if this is a lower USA fossil or can be found multiple places around the US? Enjoy your videos.
What do you do with the calamite?
I feel the conditions made those fossils it should have made other kinds.
What do too do with the fossils you find?
Hello hilary
Do any of the states you go to require permits to fossil hunt?
My goodness you look like you’re getting mixed up like a bowl of eggs that’s a bumpy road😂😂
Sorry I'm so dumb but what were those from?
Calamites, They are 250 to 360 million years old. Pretty cool they lasted all these years. Lots of videos out there.
Calamities are kind of boring. Some of them would make good paperweights though.
I can't get bored with them for some reason 😂
