I’d agree, they can hit at anytime. Biggest one I ever got was at around noon, sunny day, windy and hot. Same bait as you, chunked up gold eye I caught earlier in the morning.

For sure...Goldeye is my go-to bait. Other bait works good too but goldeye seems pretty consistent.
