I find it very hard to accept myself as SF when I seem to be very NT too. I seem to only have the physical "Look" of an SF, but I believe that it is hereditary. Everything else about me is very NT. I actually have a very hard time dealing with feelers if they get too feely lol. I am never late (not once since I started work in 98), I am always where I need to be 45 -60 minutes ahead of time, etc
Got a tech problem, I'll fix it, I'll probably find a totally new way and or invention that makes it easier too. I was partitioning disk drives on windows 98 (before it was done on windows normally), reverse engineered SNES games, and got into the publisher's magazine for finding errors in their code at the age of 10, does this sound like an ESFP jumper?

Well, there are multiple definitions of harmony. High Fe users accept "fake" harmony because they can't stand disharmony, but the same issue might come up again and again. High Ti users want to generate harmony with fixing the problem, the root cause, so that it does not appear again. That harmony user there has actually quite some foresight with ending the divorce quickly, so that they can live in harmony again without resenting each other for ages. Harmony users are looking for common ground instead of wasting emotional energy by rehashing areas of disagreement.

    • @Owlsworthy

Actually high Fe users aren't afraid of the negative emotions because they're responsible for it. Look at Oprah, she doesn't mind poking and weedling someone into tears to get that F going. this is where i've had to realize that all this effort ive put into studying various personality theories needs to inform my strategy with humans but can't be necessarily shared directly with them, as i've encountered ppl tell me i'm not my saviors and that they are adamantly their demons. i'm ok with being wrong about mistyping bc i've learned that, at least for my novice ability right now, i need time for the type to fully reveal and "lockdown" in my assessment. i observe and question a lot and take time to classify those around me which is why i don't think i'm totally off base. but seeing some ppl have an immediate hostile reaction is kind of startling and disappointing. to be fair, a lot of how ppl present at work (which is where i'm applying these theories) is tied very strongly to their sense of career survival, tribe value, and therefore promotional and compensation opportunities...so demon or not, everyone wants to be associated with certain high value labels like "strategist" or "doer" or "ppl person"

People don't type themselves upside down as much as you think they do. That is classic Ni arrogance :p We see the abstract in the individual. They can't.
When people like Cal Newport and Elizabeth Gilbert teach their saviors you guys are like look at people teaching their saviors. And then you laugh even harder at people teaching their demons. But it is precisely the saviors and demons that people are good at teaching.
With the saviors they are teaching their innate skills. With demons its hard earned skill. And I think both versions of teachers are necessary. When I see how much ENTJs like Gary Vaynerchuck I want to laugh because I think his Fi is questionable. But I see how much his struggle to conquer his demons resonates with ENTJs and helps them.
People are aware of the fact that they are peacocking. Teaching is a good way to learn the things we are ourselves learning. Also, people learn better from people who are closer to their level. A person teaching his demons breaks it down to basics because he struggles with it so much.
I would say people can teach their demons to another person with the same demons better than someone who had it as a saviour could.
People want to teach their demons. It's their struggle, their story, their hero's journey. Teaching it forces them to never forget about it and lose balance.

Honestly I was thinking something similar too and yeah it's probably their Ni ignorance that they're so fixated on the idea of mistyping. It's not that people can't see their demons, it's just that they wanna share their progress over their demons with others a lot more because they see it as more helpful because it was more helpful to them.
Same goes for saviours, people see what they're good at and observe that others might benefit from it which is why they choose to teach it. So it's not a bad thing that people share their saviours and demons a lot more.

So i just organized my closet (backstory: hated shopping since childhood. Almost all clothes are given to me as hand-me-downs by relatives and close friends. Once in 5 years i will actively go out and buy some clothes that will last for 10 years) So during the pandemic and even after that, i sorted out clothes to give away. And today i organized one part of my closet (the home clothes section) into summer, winter and rainy season. Also packed for a trip whose dates will be confirmed by dad soon. And made room for significant other's clothes (he's gradually bringing them over) as he will be moving in post marriage 😄. I do not at all consider myself organized. I prefer to not do it but a light goes off in my brain like do it do it do it! It's about time! I consider myself a lazy person which is why i constantly push myself to be engaged in some activity or the other (even while eating, going to the loo, etc) when I'm not at work. During the pandemic i decided to just paint stuff since i always liked painting but never got around to it. I also started learning to cook. And it wasn't a disaster. My parents and boyfriend say I'm too hard on myself because i always think whatever i make is crap. Anyway, I'm typed as an Infj. So i decided to work on my weak Se with painting and cooking. And professionally I am a therapist and a tutor (Math and English mostly). I am active in Church things. I have written letters/poems to myself for various things. 1) when the time comes for my parents' deaths. 2) when I'm feeling completely low and defeated. I often think of myself as an angry human, waiting to explode or implode. Others think of me as sweet, kind and polite. My close ones know of my temper. But they still seem to think fondly of me. I always felt they'd leave someday. I mean death will eventually take them away. Ooooh also... I Love cupcakes. I think it's horrible for me to even mentally comment about someone or something. Coz it isn't my business or place. I hate wasting money on things. I will starve, walk a distance, etc just to save some few bucks for a rainy day. Or for the future. Or an emergency. You never know what may happen. I often have conversations and arguments with the many selves in my mind (maybe being an only child has allowed me to have multiple voices in my head). I don't consider myself empathetic because i often wonder how do people think/function like this. Sheesh. I guess i try to believe that people are better than what they limit themselves to be.

Question: I promise there is a question here.
What we know is that the right hemisphere of the brain is in charge of Creativity, Intuition, Arts, Feeling, Imagination, Pattern Recognition, Music Awareness, Left-hand control, etc.
Meanwhile, the left hemissphere is in charge of Logic, Analytical thinking, Language, Reasoning, Math, Facts, Right-hand control, etc.
Based on that, it seems the right brain is very NF dominate while also having left-hand control, while the left brain is very ST dominate while having right-hand control.
Do you see any clustering of double activated NF types (or any other unique NF type) also being left handed?

    • @MrLuigiFercotti
      @MrLuigiFercotti Před 2 lety +2

The lateralization of the brain cognitive function is not so well defined as people think. There is evidence that left handed people have less hemispherical specialization. I remember hearing Dr D. Nardi saying that he tested RH people for his research to eliminate variables, but he had tested some LH subjects who identified as Se types, and scans showed more intuitive type patterns of functioning, and speculated they could flex into intuitive thinking more easily than typical S types. I found that interesting as an LH Se type since I exhibit a lot traits commonly associated with intuitive types. Also, it reminded me of a dorm mate who said that one of his architecture classes was almost all LH. That is crazy considering the 90/10 ratio in the general population.
      Fun stuff.

@@MrLuigiFercotti THAT is what I am looking for! Maybe the corpus collosum is different, allowing more seamless cross communication between hemispheres?
Maybe these people lead with an introverted cognitive function, so the 2nd and 3rd functions are what we see more of such as a "jumper" with the middle 2 functions being Se-Ni, or standard type with Ni-Se in the middle?
My GF is left-handed and tested as ENFP. I think she is either FM or double masculine Sensing/Deciding... with animals Sleep, Blast, Play, Consume.

there is something to ops, there really is, but it is not mbti and it is nothing more than an attempt at behavioral science, something that has already been done and categorized in the form of aforementioned + psychology. it is bringing something new to the table in terms of standardizing mbti labels, but not much more.
this video adds salt to my dilemma. i think my therapist and parents would say that i fit the IJ temperament best, whilst my therapist and friends see NiSe shine through.
i’m always upset about things if i’m ever upset - it’s rarely ever people problems, and when it is, it’s still about the things themselves (their logic, their beliefs, their emotions, them not leaving me be to do my thing). stubborn as i am with overestimated child Ti apparently.
many times, my behavior though is quite similar to that of other temperaments - but i am clearly not cognitively extroverted constantly being in touch with the external world over that of my own. i have adhd/depression which makes it difficult for me to get out of my head and be cognizant of time, and by the words of everyone who knows me, a high Fe user. my parents would call me Pi-Ti though, this i know for sure.
the difference is i strive for order and i use my rusty people and persuasion skills in the moment to make up for my flaws, even if it’s super stressful inadvertently creating chaos, having anxiety as well.
the multiple layers that build a person, you see? ops complicates it through 512 types whilst simultaneously simplifying it through snapshots of behavior.
to mimic objectivity, i escaped my body to make those conclusions, as i do. but i’d have made the same conclusions simply observing myself and behaviors, it is true.

-aaand one look at verbiosity to OPS could signify NeSi instead of reasoning, motive, and factors that come into play. ultimately i’ve been typed as all the Fe users and would say sympathy is something i’m not terrible at. infj is what i tend to go with as it fits the best logically - there will never be a perfect one.

@@onemillionpercent I think you are an Infj, I am too. I've also experienced what your saying about the objectivity of objective personality. I have typed myself as an FF Ni/Ti SC/B(P) Infj and even though I am very sure of my typing assessment I also experience doubt. One scenario that occurred to me was when I though I had masculine Fe, but in reality all I was doing was supporting my Fe with the my masculine Ni/Ti, saying to myself "My Fe is justified, My Fe is justified, each time someone threw a jab at my Fe"- this created the mirage of me having Masculine Fe when indeed I had feminine Fe; the fact is that the very existence of me needing to justify my Fe showed that my Fe was feminine as I wanted to avoid it being moved, but it occurred to me that from the external world I would appear as a masculine Fe. I asked my self the question of, What if I was professionally typed by Ops? I would test as a Masculine Fe user even though I am not. Perhaps the question of whether an external eye can really type a person in a 30 minute video needs to be reassessed. I think that self-assessment, when done correctly, can be most objective - as long as they are assessing themselves correctly, along the right lines and avoiding bias. Can you relate in any way?
Also, do you know what your Ops type is? If you are Infj I think yours may be similar to mine.
