- "I AM" is an utterly engaging and entertaining non-fiction film that poses two practical and provocative questions: what's wrong with our world, and what can we do to make it better? The filmmaker behind the inquiry is Tom Shadyac, one of Hollywood's leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind such blockbusters as Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, The Nutty Professor, and Bruce Almighty. However, in I AM, Shadyac steps in front of the camera to recount what happened to him after a cycling accident left him incapacitated, possibly for good. I love Tom he has a beautiful soul and I was one of the 400 crew members he brought a bike for and the reason behind the giving of the bikes was even more touching, it's not my place to say but it's beautiful. I enjoyed working on that film and the things Tom put into place. A zero emissions big budget film. And Tom I still have my bike.Thank you for being a role model for human kindness.
I'm 41 year old guy and I wouldn't say I'm very emotional butTom made me shed a few tears watching this what a beautiful human being he is, a good example for us all, as Gandhi said be the change you want to see.

I show this movie to people and try to pass it on to everyone I meet. I look at it as the next bible. So glad to see that Tom goes around preaching this. LOVE IT and LOVE HIM!! Spread the love because remember people we are all connected.

"I AM" is such an amazing film on both a philosophical and scientific level. I have purchased and gifted it to several people in my life. Unlike most documentaries it doesn't push an agenda or some bullshit. It truly shows how humans evolved because of our caring nature that still exists today. If you've lost hope in humanity with everything going on in the world today, watch "I AM". You'll see that people and society don't suck as much as we think.

Great Work! Just watched the movie and was moved by Tom's journey. Very refreshing to see people "wake up" especially those who where meshed deep within the Hollywood glamour field. Very tough "energy" to escape from. Blessings to you on your journey Tom.

I am puzzled by a contradiction between Tom's talk on IP rights and reality. I here him quote Wendell Berry on intellectual property, yet after I posted "I Am" on CZcams, I was given a warning of copyright infringement.
I highly respect Tom and I believe the warning was issued by a software robot. But please Tom, make sure it doesn't happen. Have someone to post "I Am" online for free.
This also applies to Google staff, who are in charge of CZcams, to act accordingly. Thanks.

Very inspiring, to see these young people working at google being open to the messages of Tom. The ideas of spreading love through Google is beautiful. As every thing (all matter) consists of energy, little particles moving around with the speed of light bound together by electromagnetic fields. And since all fields of energy are open and connected to another. Using a google tool, creating with passion and love to serve the world will create that love and passion by the use of it's users as they will tape into that vibrational intention of that creation.

The giving has to come without expectations. If giving to the people you have chosen to give to don't inspire you, start giving to people who will inspire you. They are out there. The key is to not allow others to change who you are.
I visited an elderly woman who lived in a small home. And I tell you, it was lovely, clean, filled will with many beautiful nature homemade trinkets. The love 💕 exacerbated from she and her home 🏡 was like honey. Unlike my spacious house which smelled of bitter vinager.. Love is the reason for our existence. It fills our lives with joy , peace and charity. Amen, Amen and Amen...

It would be great if people do not need to be in adversity so they would learn to better themselves. From what i have witness, even in myself, we need some form of motivation in order for us to "wake up" and strive for a higher ground, and very often, it requires some form of destruction, both internally and externally.
What Tom speaks about here is ideology which I held dearly in my heart for the longest time until I realized I was not growing and was becoming stagnant for the longest time.
Coming to see this necessary step of human evolution, I am not oppose to good nor bad. Everything is meant to happen. Though, instead, I notice my degree of compassion has deepened over the years. I would pick peace any time over violence, but is violence is what it takes to demonstrate to others why it is the last resource, I would not hesitate to exercise it.

I agree, it is peanuts money. My argument is not about the price, but the approach. Why compulsory? And why $4, why not $40 or $400? It can change someone's life, yet be meaningless to another. Let the viewer set the price. Give it away as a gift. I am sure that no artist works for the money, and the effort that he/she puts into it is voluntary. So, set up a voluntary payment as a return gift, on any amount. You'll be surprised how well it works. Both ways.
I was in his class at Pepperdine and though I agree with the charity / philanthropy work he has done, he isn’t as nice as he comes across and to him a lot of it is an ego thing.
SO disappointed to see the empty chairs on this talk. I would expect Google to have embraced these topics even though they happen to be privileged enough to be riding the wave of success through "good " works.
His central message is antithetical to their bottom line. It seems like the sort of thing corporations put on to be the “fun job” and cultivate an image that they aren’t the very problem he’s talking about.

Intellectual property rights and copyright have stunted humanity beyond words. Imagine if people could freely improve upon and share ideas how much further we would be as a society. Intellectual property rights benefit the few at the expense of the many.
Also some of the people asking him questions seem really dense or brainwashed. It seems the type of situation where getting people to learn something isn’t so much the problem as it is getting them to unlearn things that they already believe.

The reason why scientists don't spread the truth about connectivity is because we investigate everything in isolated systems, since that is the only way we are capable of understanding them. When things are connected the complexity is too high, and it becomes impossible for the scientist to investigate things. Many scientists actually believe that it is truthful to look at things isolated, and that this information is useful. Only the scientists who manage to make the connections between things outside of the experiments learn about the nature of reality, and become capable of communitcating it to society.
