*Scottish accent intensifies*
@@alliona502, because he moved to England. Glad to say he's definitely Scottish, thank fuck.
He's Scottish
Sarah Jasmin : what? .....next....you're gonna tell us she's half black too.
@@alliona502 That's bullshit mate. I'm from Glasgow and McAvoy hasn't lost his accent, he's just poshed it up a bit. He sounds like he's from Bearsden or Kilmacolm. Big difference to sounding English.
He used to have a very heavy accent but he has no doubt 'smoothed it out' for American audiences etc. He still gets quite heavy if he gets annoyed or speeds up up his accent. I think it sounds much better.
The fact that James McAvoy has played this character twice and has only won a San Diego film critics and a Seattle film critics award for it, kinda pisses me off. This is a brilliant, fun character portrayed by a brilliant and talented actor. I love Dicaprio, but I'd love to see him try to play a character like this.
Does he take daily charisma baths? He’s dripping with it!
R S It’s that Scottish vortex of charm
tatsuo71 I mean I’ve never met a Scot I didn’t fall in love with lol
It’s the Scot in him. Scotsmen have natural charm
R S same thoughts
Ryan Carter 🤣 wish it was the Scot in me. 💦
McAvoy is a brilliant actor. His performance in Split was worth an Oscar Nom, at least.
Oscar's are a circle jerk who takes for each other
@@buibuddha I just watched it last night and I wholeheartedly agree with that statement.
true
His American accent could be better.
@@buibuddha Didn't like the movie, but McAvoy was brilliant
Such an underrated actor. He’s amazing. So talented

The new slogan for Glass lol
Yemi Abayomi 😅
Just "leave no personality behind".... The other is just bad gramma.
@@TheDavidbeckham7 I was thinking that, too. 😁
@@marysmith5003 its unbelievable how 1.1 thousand people dont know that the word "left" already is in the word "leave"🤨🤭

I clicked because Saoirse ronan was mentioned on the title. Stayed because James is such a babe 😏
ever see her movie "the way back" or something like that. good movie and she was central in it too.
clicked so i could hear how to pronounce her name
Check her out on Ellen couple of weeks back. She’s turned into a goddess 😍

BIG BISEXUAL MOOD
Lord. He's so charming it hurts a little.
(Edit) huh. The truth get the likes:)
Thanks!
Exactly my thought
It's because he's Scottish 😌
It's the Scottish vortex of charm!
whattya mean? it hurts *A LOT* 😭

He better get an oscar nomination for this sequel. He got totally robbed on the first one
Dominic Sanchez if he kissed a guy in split he woulda got an Oscar

He was spectacular in split and in Glass, but Glass is getting more attention in general unlike split. So maybe he'll get nominated this time
I can’t believe Atonement was 11yrs ago! James McAvoy is 39 now🤯
😭😭😭explains my bald spot.....
Oh wow. He looks younger
K Lof I first saw him in Narnia and I thought then he was a major talent in the rise. Like him a lot.
Such a great film. Especially the twist. I want to see him and Saoirse in a film again.
Amazing movie ! 11 years omg time flies !!!
This is why Graham Norton show is the number one show of interviewing actors, its an hour and three or four of them talk the entire time without interuption.
Agree 100%. Plus Graham is a fantastic interviewer and very funny in his own right. Colbert’s monologues are second-to-none but his interviewing skills leave a lot to be desired.
Graham needs to be the ONLY interviewer!
Love Graham Norton to bits but to say he allows people to finish is a bit much. He constantly cuts people off and can’t wait to say his next funny thing. Love the guy, but that’s actually a pet peeve of mine against him.
Bethany Davidson
I’m a huge Graham Norton fan but recognise he’s not infallible. However saying he “constantly cuts people off and can’t wait to say his next funny thing” is unfair. He is very good at letting his guests speak uninterrupted, especially compared to other chat show hosts, and his humour is almost always reactionary (and fleeting!).
george koul LOL
I just recently saw Split and his was the most extraordinary performance I’ve ever seen. It’s just... breathtaking!
i know right. different level
You should watch his movie Filth it will rip your heart out if you make it through the whole thing it's pretty R rated though just a warning
He even tops it in GLASS! He's monstrous in this movie, I was speechless!
@@markmarkovich6618 The photocopier scene in Filth... "Whaaaaaaaaat?"
LaMarsouine likewise... I went back and watched it after seeing Glass three times... this guy is amazing....
That was a really creative approach to the rabbit voice he tried out...probably miles better than what they ended up with.
Pat H I agree. When he gave us a small sample I immediately imagined that that would be how a rabbit would talk.
Well they ended up with his real voice, so I guess it would just be up to you if you'd think his approach to voice is better than his real voice lol
Yeah but after an hour and a half... Idk
It’s scary that I’m a teenager and have a crush on a 40 year old. I love you James

All these people confused at James McAvoy being buff. Um haven't you people ever seen Wanted? Hes always been ripped. The man just oozes charm. Super underrated and man that accent.
I know he's Scottish and I know and love his freaking sexy voice/accent but it ALWAYS catches me off guard when he actually uses it I'm so used to him speaking with an english or american accent. 😍
Also, loving the salt & pepper hair. *ahem*
I'm with ya 😍

@@dougm659 I don't think anyone likes American accents unfortunately. Well.. maybe new orleans. Those are kinda fun.. But Cajun is steeped in french, so... :/
His accent is the 8th world wonder😍
The charm of being from Glasgow Scotland and from living and working in the USA for ages. Blends of both worlds.
John King
Living in the US hasn’t affected McAvoy’s accent one bit. He still sounds 100% Scottish. If you want to hear a Scottish accent corrupted by living in LA, listen to Gerard Butler. (I say this as a Scot.)
good god DAMN he is one of the best looking men on earth.
Absolutely 😍😍😍🔥
James McAvoy is such a wonderful guy. Love his movies and interviews like gah so talented and funny
I'd give a kidney for that accent.
I hated when Stephen didn't allow James to finish off his story.
Me too
For that reason Graham Norton is better as a host.
@@licethnino2850 Graham Norton Is the best. Great host and funniest show by far.
yeah it sucks but its not his fault its the way stupid American shows work they have to nake the interviews quick cuz time idk stupid but not colberts fault
Great actor. He is so intense, I worry he's gonna bust a blood vessel some day!
what do you mean ? hes not crazy
He's so intense and puts everything he's got into his characters. When he's doing a scene where he's gritting his teeth and the blood vessel are standing out all over his temples, I think I hope he's in good health.

James McAvoy should have gotten an Oscar for Split
Love hearing a Scot keeping his accent... looking at you Butler 🙄
Megan Thomson The last time I checked, Gerard Butler still had his accent.
Erm... okay. We must be hearing different things then 🤔
@@meganrmt 'groundskeeper willy' makes up for butler.
Even if Butler did lose his accent (it’s still very strong to my ears), how can you blame him? Sure, you can argue that like many actors he’s made an effort to lose his native accent. But the fact is, he lives in the states and is surrounded by non-Scottish accents. While some people manage to keep their native accents despite spending years living in a place surrounded with different accents from their own, many lose theirs either a little or a lot. It’s only natural 🤷♂️
Megan Thomson watch The Vanishing, it’s thicker than Ashley Graham in that one
I can't describe my love for this man in words.
Yes like me
I saw Glass recently and his acting was absolutely phenomenal. He switches between characters with such ease, and you know he's become someone new without him even saying a word. Excellent actor, one of the best.
Don't think he's ever acted bad in any movie....some of his movies might be trash but he's a gem....his portrayal of Xavier in Days of Future Past is still my favourite
I wish Colbert didn’t step on McEvoy’s responses in an effort to close the joke quickly; He’s smarter than that usually.
Love James McAvoy!!! Man this guy is something else .. his acting his accent his choice of movies and what he chooses to play makes you wonder how his mind works - very interesting guy and hard working
James has such great stories. I wish I can hear him talk all day lol
Omg... he's accent when he said ''Unbreakable'' was amazing!

How dare let them watch it
McAvoy is amazing , not only as an actor but also as a person. Also love his sense of humor xD
I'm excited to see Glass, it'll be a refreshing departure from the regular formula of superhero movies. Not to say I'm not excited to see Avengers: End Game or anything though. I have no doubt that McAvoy will nail his role in Glass.
Hammad Ali roles* lol
The regular formula of superhero movies, or just blockbusters in general, certainly don’t end things like Infinity War, though. I know what you mean but just sayin’ 🙂
In the grand scheme of things, considering how many films are released, there's not that many superhero films. Just broaden your horizons.
He’s my favourite actor now, completely blown away by his skills!
He was always my favourite since Atonement and Chronicles of Narnia.
James can tear me up anytime he fancies
"I could've been a contender"
McAvoy pulling a Brando from no where !
He's even more attractive older. Love him.
James is back! what a damn treat! 😍😍😍
I watched him in Filth, felt so wrong to drool over his character. Goddammit.
“Do you think children see the world as it really is?”
Right after you mentioned Atonement? Really?
He’s such a hard worker and is still underrated!! 🥺🤩
I love that he clarified DID and it’s former names.
Except that :
Schizophrenia is NOT Dissociative Identity Disorder, and never has been.
It is true that many people in the past were misdiagnosed, esp. prior to MPD having its own diagnostic criteria, and people with DID continue to be misdiagnosed with schizophrenia to this day. However they are completely different experiences.
If you genuinely want to know more, check out the diagnostic criteria (the DSM 5 provides the latest definitions of mental illnesses), and listen to people with lived experience.
Or you can live in a fantasy of thinking that James McAvoy knows exactly what he is talking about. I wish he did! But I have lived too much to know otherwise.
Watership Down is basically Game of Thrones with rabbits.
Triggered.
I remember feeling scared reading it as a kid.
As a person diagnosed with Dissociative identity disorder ( split personalities) I have to say he was AMAZING! His portrayal really showed what it is seriously like to live with this disorder. The whole "in the light" thing was a really interesting way of showing how we can often handle things better by letting one personality "take over at will" when needed by using "triggers" that we create for ourselves in order to cope. But it was his portrayal of showing how we can be involuntarily "triggered" into switching that was really breath taking and THAT must have taken A LOT of work for him to be able to pull off as an actor.
I have so much respect for Mr. McAvoy for not only taking on such a controversial role, but for portraying us in a realistic instead of "comical" light and for putting so much of his heart and soul into each of the characters he was playing. In a way, he honored us with the way he was able to really show the audience what this disorder is seriously like by using his amazing skills as an actor to bring Crumb to life the way he did. ( well even though one of his personalities was a serial killer and most of us dont have that problem at least LMAO).
To be honest, had I seen him playing this character in like a documentary type scenario, I would have sworn he really had the disorder himself, he pulled it off THAT brilliantly.
He's such a great actor anyone else remember Last King of Scotland?
gerard dearie
The memory of that scene make me feel ill. 🤢🤮
ach bless his wee heart
Great to see, you back dear James.
As a psych nerd, I love how he gave brief info on DID! He’s so great.

Love me some James McAvoy. I think he deserves more attention, just a great actor and underrated.
Loved him as Mr. Tumnus in C.O.N and in Penelope is where he became my fav.
James McAvoy one of the most talented actors ever. He scares me a lil but the celebrity crush is still there🤣

The Scottish accent
Scottish might be the only accent that can get me swooning over a male voice. And this guy is also a brilliant actor: His performance is always spot-on; but it went beyond devilishly good in "Filth".
Adored and respected him the first moment I saw him so long ago, and he just continues to absolutely awe me.
Please consider making this available on line - it would be a wonderful antidote to quarantine.
He’s such an underrated actor!
I LOVE JAMES MCAVOY!!!! Will definitely watch this!!!
This movie "Glass" was really a masterpiece. I watched it recently. Beautifully shot, best acting. Each and every actor brought their A game. I haven’t seen such truly great performances from actors since, I don’t know, in a very very long time in Hollywood.
If someone wants to know what does it mean to act, this is the movie to show them. And they will learn acting. Really, the performances are beyond amazing.
The direction was very thoughtful, sharp and brilliantly executed from start to finish. Watch the movie to experience it the way it is presented. It’s stupid to make up your own set of expectations and not leaving any space in your mind to experience what the actual movie has to say.
Great movie. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually felt the emotion. That’s rare nowadays.
Oh btw, the critics can go eat a dick.
I love how the audience gave him a spontaneous standing ovation when he first entered. He must have felt so good...he looked awkward for a moment, and its not a usual occurance with James.
