  • After breaking down a few months ago I've finally got the filters and oils changed on the Ford TW 25. I have now just got to change the oils in the front axle and hubs. Change the coolant, give it a wash and grease her up. After that, the next video with her in should be very interesting!!

It’s a lovely original TW George so it’s a sin to be leaving it outside in winter weather , it will deteriorate if you don’t house it , please store her indoors 🙏🏻

You are most definitely doing the right thing with your Ford TW25 tractor 🚜 George, as she is a good old girl and needs all the tender loving care that you can to keep her alive and well and fit for duty on your farm and how’s the new puppy getting along with flo and penny they really are wonderful dogs 🐕 George and are great companions on those long winter nights.

My first recollection of changing an oil filter was back in 1960, on a Power Major. In those days, you got a new element only. The gasket had to be prized out of the groove with a knife or screwdriver. When the cartridge filter came in, it was a lot easier doing the oil change. We also had an oil bath on the air intake, which collected all the crap in the bottom of the oil bath. Then the wire/gauze filter had to come out and be washed in fresh fuel to clean it. Then finally an oily rag was pushed through the intake tube several times until that was also clean. Of course dry air filters are very expensive compared with a couple of pints of oil as was the cartridge oil filter.

Hi George, of course it will start, it's a Ford! Good old school service right down to doing it outside, we used to usually do ours in customers fields as the tractors used to stay away for months at a time when we were contracting. Oh and dropping something in the old oil is almost compulsory, It is funny when it is someone else. I think our local dealer Russels, who have taken over Hallmark tractors, must have seen your Christmas video when you dressed the tractor in lights, can not believe it was 2 years ago. Anyway they have covered the silhouette of a big NH tractor at their new depot at Sudbury with blue lights. I don't often comment but just want to wish you and your family a merry Christmas. Although as you know it is just another day for most farmers. Take care.

Another excellent video George, my only advice would be to have some latex gloves for messing around with the diesel as sustained contact is known to be carcinogenic. It'll be great to see the old girl out earning a crust again, even 36 years on she's still relevant.

I flush old out with diesel - try to get engine hotter ( straight after work or in lunchbreak) drain and drown in diesel, remember to drain and refill after dinner BEFORE you go off in a hurry before the rain comes !!!! It is all a messy job tho' innit? does EEPA not come out visiting ! show them the size of your draintray. Take care n be careful.
