    cool video! i have an id14mk2 its great. one thing i did notice was the exported files from Ableton change when the volume levels of DAW1+2 change, for example the render at -30 db on the slider doesnt null to the render done at 0db unity gain. in fact to my ears the render done at -30db on the DAW1+2 output of the mixer soudns deeper and warmer. is there any more info on this? is there some convertor wizardry at play lol. would be great to hear if you could get back to me or if anyone else knows the "optimal" level of the daw1+2 slider before exporting your project :)

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před 2 měsíci

      All the rendering in Ableton is done within the DAW so the position of the DAW 1+2 fader won't make a difference to the audio file that Ableton outputs. The only exception to this would be if you are using Loop-back or feeding tracks from your DAW out to hardware effects.

    I’m looking to use an external DAC and amp combo for my headphones with the id24, when using spdif for the outputs does it 1. Bypass the inbuilt D/A converters 2. Does it show only two channel in the digital outs, if so how would I route them to one of the cue mixes.
    When using the line outs on my id14 I can set the headphones to be the second cue mix, this allows me to independently mix the audio of the headphones while using an external dac amp, would this be possible when using optical?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před rokem

      Hello there,
      Yes the S/PDIF outputs will bypass the onboard D/A and allow you us your own external D/A instead. If you go to the system panel, you can choose either CUE A, or CUE B as your source for the Optical outputs so you can route your CUE mix to them. It works in the same way as on the iD14's Analog outputs

    Is there a difference in sound quality and access speed between id24 and id44, or is it just the number of inputs and outputs? Thank you ,

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před 9 měsíci +1

      The iD24 and iD44 have the same internals, the only real difference is the channels counts so you'll get the same great audio quality regardless of how many channels you need!

  • @Jordan_Harris

    Is there a way to control the line return channels in the software? If there is no individual channel for these, how do you control the monitoring?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před 2 měsíci

      The insert returns on the iD24 will feed into the input for that channel, so Return 1 will appear on the Mic 1 channel of the mixer and Return 2 appears on the Mic 2 Channel.

  • @Lakefield_
    @Lakefield_ Před měsícem

    I take from this video that i can route the main mix to the digital output. But does that mean it will be with volume control? So every input will go through the final master volume before send out? This would be a practical solution to my problem. I got DSP monitors with SPDIF inputs, but the volume can only be adjusted through their setup software.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před měsícem

      Yes, if you assign the Main Mix to a digital output then this would be affected by the Master volume control which is ideal for feeding speakers via S/PDIF.

      Hello there,
      The iD24 ships with just a USB-C to USB-C cable. You can use the iD24 with a USB-C to USB-A cable for use with USB3.0 ports however, you'd just have to purchase a different cable separately.

  • @antoinedlc

    Hi,
    Is it possible to make a routing like that in ADAT protocol on ID24 :
    Analog in 1/2 to digital out 9/10
    Daw return 1/2 to digital out 11/12
    Daw return 3/4 to digital out 13/14
    Daw return 4/5 to digital out 15/16
    The goal here is to route all my input on the ID MIXER after a quick mix to 4 differents channels output in an another audio interface on dedicated to mixing.
    Best regards.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před 7 měsíci

      Unfortunately, you do not have enough CUE mixes on the iD24 to do this. You can achieve this in other ways though.
      Use CUE A to feed Analog In 1+2 to Digital output 9/10. Then sed Digital outputs 11-16 to DAW THRU. Now in your DAW, change your output channels from Outputs 1-6 to Outputs 11-16. This will then be sent to the digital outputs at full scale so it can be fed to another interface

  • @matthewjumps

    im curious about using the id24 as a standalone unit, with an external ADAT interface. Is it possible to route the mic/line/instruments inputs of the id24 to the ADAT outputs, and the ADAT inputs of the id24 to the main line and headphone outputs?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před 11 měsíci

      It wouldn't really be possible to use the iD24 as a standalone unit as you would need access to the iD mixer software to setup this routing so it would need to be plugged into a PC or Mac. Unlike the iD44, the iD24 doesn't have the standalone state function so its not possible to store settings on the unit itself.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, this would be possible. You would use the CUE A, to send audio from the two inputs to the Optical output.
      You can then use the MAIN MIX and CUE B to send audio from the optical input to the Main Speaker output and the Headphone output.
      The iD24 would need to be plugged into the PC the whole time however.

      @Audientworld  Před 8 měsíci +1

      You can just flip the -10dB switch for that channel to add a -10dB pad on that XLR input. If you need more attenuation, you can of course just make use of a XLR barrel pad that you just plug into the unit.
