I really feel that pre baby-- having the conversations and setting mutual expectations is a must. My husband and I made a list of the musts to keep our life organized and our relationship healthy. Going from no kids to a baby was honestly an easy transition because we made US a priority. The best things in life don’t thrive in chaos, which unfortunately happens to a lot of people that don’t take the time to truly plan on getting on the same page. Having a baby doesn’t need to be chaotic. We did sleep training, honestly almost from month 2 of our baby coming home. It wasn’t easy, but wow, one of the best things we ever did. He has slept in his crib since week 1- slept through the night at 5 months & has not been in our bed one night. People don’t think those types of things make a difference, but over the course of a year they do. Getting quality sleep, quality time after little one goes to bed & a solid daily routine is a must. Anyone that said you can’t plan for a baby- is lying. You just need to plan to make it the best possible routine for what works for your family and your relationship. It’s possible to have it all.

I discovered that I am pregnant and scheduled for an ultrasound in just a couple weeks. According to my calculations, I believe that I’m somewhere between 4 to 6 weeks pregnant. Both my boyfriend (father of the baby) and I have spent so much time together and have been there for each other through thick and thin. We love each other very much and have made a bucket list of what all we are going to do prior to the baby arrival. Just today we had some miscommunication and we got a bit stressed out about everything and we had a bit of an argument. He left my apartment back to his apartment. Now I come across this video and watched it. If only I had watched this before our argument lol 😅. I do love him and I know he loves me. This is also our first kid, we’re both 25, I’m working two jobs and our financial situation is ok. Thanks if you made it this far into my comment. I recently discovered your channel when I found out that I am pregnant. ❤

    Just placed my order!
I love your channel, Diane! You are funny, cute and very intelligent. It's always nice to watch a new video of you. My husband and I enjoyed all of the weekly pregnancy videos when I was pregnant with our daughter. It was our 3rd pregnancy and a very anxious one, since 2 of our previous pregnancies ended up as missed miscarriages. Your channel lightened our mood each week! I don't know why am I writing this, but anyway! I just want you to know that you're doing phenomenal job with your channel and I can't wait to try this game you and your hubby created!

Personally, I think me and my sweetheart will skip it -- we are very unadventurous, we like to plan our dates in advance and leave NOTHING to chance! And in particular, a getaway to somewhere "warm and tropical" would be something we both would absolutely HATE! But to each their own!

It's hard for me and my hubby. Intimacy has declined since our one yr old loves to sleep in our bed.

There are a lot of challenges with a newborn. It's common for intimacy to decline during this stage, but being aware and finding ways to care for your marriage is important.

@@DianaInThePink So, do you have any more detailed tips for how to keep intimacy going during this stage? (And especially if both the mom and the dad are introverts -- would that be an additional challenge, or not?)

We discussed a plan and all but my husband couldn't get up at night. Changed the plan to okay you keep her from 7am-10am so I can get some sleep, eat bathe (he worked starting at 1pm) didn't work either. He had PPD. It was the wildest thing taking care of a newborn and recovering from an emergency C-section while supporting hubby through his PPD. I am terrified it is gonna happen again.

Hi Diana, currently 35 weeks in and I was wondering if you had a video or were planning on making one about PUPPP rash? It's making these last few weeks very difficult and was hoping if there is some way to help relieve the pain? x

Sounds like great advice! But I'd love to hear more details about spending quality time together and about keeping intimacy going -- these are THE two things I'd like to know the most about! And in particular, how would it work if both the mom and the dad are introverts from the far end of the spectrum and have a VERY LOW level of excitement-seeking AND adventurousness -- what kinds of tips can you offer for THIS kind of couple in this regard? (BTW, sorry to say, but for THIS kind of couple, the scratch cards probably will NOT work -- just the whole idea of doing something completely unexpected for a date night will be a TREMENDOUS turn-off!)
