Thank you!! ❤️
Thanks so much. It's just sometimes we just don't have the time to listen to a 20 mins video.
Thank you!!!!
Perfect timing! Baby is 6 months old and got the green light from his doctor to start enjoying solids ☺️ thanks for this!
Just bought my Lifevac sets for home and on the go… baby is about to turn 6 months old and I’m SO EXCITED TO INTRO FOOD TO HIM 🥰
I’m about to buy one, I had it in the back of my mind to buy and I just saw ur comment and I’m gonna go ahead and purchase it right now, ur comment was my go ahead 😂
We’re starting our 4th on solids at 7.5 months (didn’t feel the need to add one more thing to our already busy lives any sooner than necessary 😂), but it’s been 6 years since the last one, so this is a good refresher! Thank you!
Man you guys are truely amazing ! I love watching your videos ! I’m pregnant with my 2nd baby and i feel like i need a refresher on everything because my first is already 11yrs old ! So i feel like a noob starting all over again ! Thank you guys for all you do ! I appreciate it greatly! 🥰
Congratulations! I totally understand! My oldest just turned 13! & I just gave birth to my son 4 months ago. It’s definitely like starting over & there’s so much new information & resources that we didn’t have 10+ years ago. Good luck 💞
Thank you so much for this informative video!! Very helpful & I now feel more comfortable to start solids with my baby soon!
I love this video! I’m a nutritionist and I have a 20 month old boy. I tend to feed him lots of fruits and veggies since we started solids and he loves them. I make sure he’s getting plenty of nutritious foods from all foods groups. I get people asking why I don’t give him high sugary juices or candy or junk foods and I always say because the food I feed him the first few years are for his growth and development. It sets the tone for his life. A sugary juice isn’t giving him any nutrient. I’m not saying I won’t ever let him eat it but right now isn’t the time.
This video was tremendously helpful. Thank you! 🙏🏼
Thank you so much for this video! We're just about to start our baby on foods and this is super helpful in navigating it.
great video, thanks so much for sharing!
it’s especially good to see you promote whole foods and variety of flavors rather than the conventional highly processed, bland or sugary foods.
in case it might be helpful for you and others here, i found “first bite: how we learn to eat” by bee wilson especially insightful.
thanks again!
We loved the ability to just have her eat what we were eating, which was the biggest reason we did BLW.
Expecting my first and this was very helpful 😀. Also, your baby is her dad’s twin 🥹
Super Helpful, we are 5 months old can wait to start weaning with this info we are good to go.
Thank you so much, very helpful! Could you post some easy recipes? :)
Love your videos! They have been so helpful with our little one. Thank you so much!
Stressed because our baby is 10 months old and we haven't been giving him enough solids. Starting with this list and will definitely work our way up. Thanks a bunch.
Same!
That’s good as long as he is being breastfed.A baby can go without solids until he gets his first tooth or wait until he’s 8 months
My baby is 8.Curious question-how is he taking solids after starting late?
Very informative. We started out on purées for two months using Yumi to get a variety of fruits and vegetables in. Especially since the time of year we started, the fresh fruit and vegetables were not great. Have since moved onto food and at 9 months, he’s doing great.
He’s allergic to milk and salmon so far. With a sensitivity to bananas. So finding any form of yogurt with no milk that is not too thick is awful. It’s either super runny (basically purée which he hates now) or too thick. So we use the organic yogurt mills from a company that uses coconut milk instead.
Overall he loves all food so far. We did offer blueberries and grapes at 7 months cup up and smooshed, and he loved them. So just kinda working and finding what is good for your baby.
But very informative for next time when I want to start out with just BLW.
How did you know your baby was allergic to milk and salmon? And bananas?
Thanks so much for the video! Very useful again
Thank you so much for the video!! When it comes to reducing the risk of choking, what sizes (avocado, banana, squash) should be avoided, and is it better to make foods less mushy, or more?
We introduced steamed squash, however, our 6month old would squeeze the large crescent slices into much smaller pieces and I’m not sure if that defeated the purpose of the large slice to begin with.
Please avoid sugary foods for as long as possible!! Even when your child is 2, avoid vitamin gummies, fruit snacks, dried fruit, etc. they cause cavities so quickly in little baby teeth. We learned the hard way 😢
Oh shit. Let me stop 😭
Restrictions cause the craving for more. Teaching balance is best
I second this, I’m a dentist!
I ate lots of fruit as a kid just make sure they brush
Most people in Nigeria don't go to the dentist all their lives and their teeth remains perfect.
I was so surprised when I moved to America and someone was shocked I have never seem a dentist. She said it can't possibly be with that teeth.
Not giving my life any sugars until they can take it themselves.
I didn't know sugars existed as a kid, most of us in Nogeria didn't. Most packaged foods were for special occasions while day to day was natural / home processed foods
Great video, thank you for sharing it.
Thanks for this! I was always told we had to do purées and I’ve been making purées my little guy is 6 months so I’m going to give your suggestion a try!
Very helpful, love it 🥑
Have you guys looked at the Bibado for a BLW friendly bib? Looks very intriguing and good for keeping the mess off baby.
Thanks for the information and well presented approach. A link to all the products you mentioned would be great. The spoon, the bib, and i see someone has mentioned the app already.. Also the link to the difference between gagging and choking would also be veey helpful. Thanks
Thanks for the great video! How did you guys cook the salmon?
Thanks so much for this.
Are breads or well cooked home noodles okay?
Very helpful
Thank you for this informative video. One of our main concerns is baby having allergic reaction to food. What would be your advice and if you have any video on this?
I heard that for nut butter you can mix it with banana or smooth cereal so it isn't so thick for baby!
Thank you!!! Super informative!! Love this right now my baby girl is almost 7months and I'm starting to feed just kinda lost as to what !! Thank you
Good luck! We so offer felt lost too, so know you’re in good company. Just keep offering new things - tastes, textures, and temperatures. Baby’s interests in certain food are going to change a lot from day to day too, so have fun!
Thank you so much! What about tomato seeds? Are they too small to be choking hazard? thank you
Love this video ❤
Love their videos I been watching since I was pregnant them and Diana in the pink now I’m here at 6months ❤❤❤
Oh my goodness - I let my baby try some canned beans I was eating with dinner tonight and had no idea about the botulism risk. THANKYOU and I will be sure to be more careful from here on.
Great advice thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the tips, I feel more comfortable with start feeding
Love your videos so much! Question on this one - what do you mean by home canned foods?
Some people grow thier own veggies etc and then use canning equipment to can them at home - if done incorrectly it can really dangerous (think coma and possible death or brain damage)
This is helpful thank you but I thought babies cannot have any dairy products until they are one, you suggested yogurt at six month! Now I am confused and I am getting ready to start my 6 months old on solids here in a week or so
If I could go through the screen and give you guys a hug I would 🥹🥹 I’ve been feeling so guilty that my baby is 7 months (6 corrected ) and I barely started solids.
What about iron-fortified cereals, like cream of wheat or oatmeal, for breast-fed babies? I was planning on using breastmilk instead of water or milk to cook those foods.
Thank you so much 🙏🏾
Any tips for baby with GERD? I’ve been told that veggies are best. Thanks for the tip on how making strips!
Thank you!
Hello. Can you comment about water intake? Thank you!
Great info!!! We're starting preparations for our 4.5 month old and we can't wait to get started! Do you think you could do a video covering basic infant choking-rescue/life support??
Good idea! 🙂👍
Definitely agree!!
Yes!!
Yes please
Yes please
Starting over again six years later! Lucky to have resources like this ❤
What about thin pb2 powder for a 6 month old? And how do you feel about diluting homemade purees with pumped milk?
Cecilia is so cute! Love the footage of her!😀
Hello, please can you tell me what highchair your baby is using? I know you are also using the Upseat, I have that already but I'm looking for another one. Thank you 🙂
Can you do a list for babies with FPIES? Thank you 🙏
Recording your baby trying the food for the first time is so important! 😂
What for?
Beautiful memories @@kadiewest
Thank you for this video. I really needed this refresher. Why is cow milk discouraged before 12 months?
Thank you so much for what you do! My baby is just a few months younger then your precious one… omg I’m following every single video closely.
Thank you so much for this series!
I appreciate your honesty (always, but especially) with baby gagging when starting solids.
I'm thankful to be CPR certified - I hope to never have to use it.
Hey I just wanted to know what you think about devices like the lifevac to have on hand in case of choking? Thank you.
She is her daddy’s twin!! Beautiful family
What is that app you use, you mentioned in the video?
Is there a video on whether or not its necessary to do purees first?
Good video
Thank you!
Thanks so much for all the beautiful tips. I smiled all through, but blocked my ears when at the end you said "trying for baby number 2" 😅😅😅😅
Do you guys recommend Ready Set Food allergen introduction pack?
For baby has eczema, and eczema easily triggered when they touch on stuff. Would you recommend trying baby led weaning method or parents feed for the first 3-6 months. Does baby's first food has to be puree food like rice cereal or oatmeal cereal if my rice is an important food in my culture but not in my family? And does it matter if i introduce rice cereal for 3 days, and then switch to other first food introduced in this video?
Hey! I can't find the link to the Bib and the Spoon, could you point it to me?
should I have some medicine like benadryl in case there is an allergic reaction. I was looking at benadryl for children in the stores and it says for 2 years and older.
Great info !! Thank you very much. One question: Why young babies can’t eat/drink diary products but yes yogurt . Thank you !!
It could be coconut or soy yogurt?
Hello Doctors! Really amazing the way you explain. My baby is 12 months old now and I’ve just started the BLW method. Shall I have to start with the finger foods that are suggested in this video? Please guide how can I make him eat on his own. I really need help and guidance. I’m so stressed and depressed as he is not eating anything and if eats with a lotta effors
Hi doctors how many months the baby can start eating solid foods?or the foods that ypu are saying??
What is the best time during the day to try BLW? Also, what is your opinion on EC (elimination communication)?
Hello! Thanx for posting this amazing info. When baby is eatih solds should we lower the milk intake? By how much? Love you guys and fingers crossed for baby no 2 to come soon 🤞
I read that in the beginning that food starting out should be mainly for tasting and they won’t be getting too many calories from it so to continue regular milk intake until they are eating more
Up until 9 months of age, the solids are just for tastes and learning to eat. Almost all of their daily nutrition should still come from breastmilk/formula. After that age they start to be eating more and their desire for milk may start to drop off a little.
After 12 months of age, milk consumption should ideally be only about 16-24oz a day max.
When do you start introducing them to water?
@@genebaloyi you can give a little bit of water when you start giving solid
What was the app that you mentioned?
Could you guys please address choking? I just want to feel more confident in baby led weaning and how I can help my baby if they indeed do choke on something.
They addressed that in great detail at the end of the video 😊
Did you guys use the up seat?
The mom is so funny with her facial expressions! Someone was playing and talking to baby 👶
Opinions on introducing potential allergen foods like peanut butter and eggs at 4 mo? I’ve heard there’s a shift in thinking and that if you introduce them sooner rather than later they are even less likely to have an allergy?
Thank you for this!!! My son has taken a while to become really interested in table foods. He’s loved purées, yogurt ,and unsweetened applesauce for a while. He’s almost 8 months and crawling and he just woke up one day wanting to eat! He crawls over to his high chair and reaches up when he’s hungry lol. Heading to the grocery store for some bananas :)
What type of yogurt did you offer?
I love your tips, always!
I'm about to start BLW with my second baby (we also did BLW with our first one). Last time we started with banana, but I'm excited to try avocado first with my 2nd baby.
Is it okay to do the bread crumbs right at the beginning? Or should we try avocado alone first?
Hi there:) What is BLW?
@@tarynperumal7754 Hi! Baby-Led Weaning, the method the doctors are talking about on the video. 🤗
Hiii
Please let me know what should I avoid to my 10 months old daughter
She is having allergic bronchitis
What type of milk should I give to her??
Besides breastfeeding.
What about cooked canned items? Such as black beans or any type of beans that were in a can but cooked on the stove then mashed. Does that pose a risk for botulism?
What age did you start to your baby? I started 5 month and 5 days, he likes the food but he doesn't know how to chew properly, he push the food outside with the tongue. Today was the forth day. Am I to soon for him? Will he learn how to chew soon? I'm a little worried
How do you recommend introducing dairy foods to a baby that was dairy intolerant while breastfeeding?
Do you have to warm up the babies fruits?
When do you move on from purees to self-feeding/hand-held foods like the avocado and banana?
Whenever you feel comfortable and baby can show they can swallow. Not everyone uses purées it’s not needed unless that’s easier for you. You can go straight to solids.
Ask your pediatrician what they recommend though.
We actually didn’t use purées much at all. By having age-appropriate preparation of foods, babies can often start with many common whole foods. We loved the SolidStarts app for information about how to prep foods to be safe based on age.
so, is this valid just for america, or it doesn't matter? in romania, pediatricians advise to start with boiled roots (carrot, celery, parsnip)
My husband is a mildly allergic to banana and avocado. Is it still safe to start our daughter on banana and avocado or should we wait?
I was told milk is something to avoid, but I see you guys say whole milk yogurt is there a real difference?
Oh and I seen that if they accidentally swallow a button battery honey is the best thing to give them while getting them help would you say it’s okay at that point ?
Can you do a video on food allergies. Signs and symptoms of signs of food allergies within the first year.
Hopefully coming out next month!
would you recommend all the first foods you are mentioning even when baby has no teeth?
Would you guys recommend offering a dairy free yogurt if baby is on soy formula?
My 2 year old having problems eating soiled all is wants his soft food any advice
How bout foods like welll cooked beans/lentils? I fed those to my youngest daughter, but she didnt get solids until 10 months and had teeth by then. Graham crackers, cheerios, the puffs and biscuits made for babies by gerber and other baby food companies? Where do those foods lie? In the first foods, or more advanced eaters or the foods best avoided? They were recommended when my older girls were babies but allot of recommendations have changed since then (14 years ago).
Is pea sized portions of the food you mentioned ok? My daughter is 10 months and she chokes on food even if it’s mashed
Where is this lovely couple from?!
She looks so much like Dad!! ❤
Love your stuff!
Just FYI, I have always been allergic to citrus, even as a baby. All foods are potentially an allergen.
I do hav a question. I gave My babygirl Tomatoe cause of this Video and she absolutely loves it, but now I read u should at least wait until 10 monthes cause of solanin?
Mom watched my first born when she was 5 months and I walk in the house to see my daughter chewing on a chicken bone lol I panicked good to know it’s doctors approved
Hi Im new here 1st time mommy regarding the large wedged tomatoes, do you peel the skin off? I feel it may be a choking hazard. Pls advise thanks.
For 5-6 months would it be better to make purée instead of cutting the food up,easier to digest?
Can we start with purée at 4mo and then switch to BLW when baby is ready?
