I purchased the Kel Tec PMR 30 upgrade kit by MCARBO and had the Kel Tec factory guys install the upgrades including having them polish the stainless steel feed ramp----I only have tested it with the CCI 40-grain Gold Dot ammo and after about 3 full magazines it ran absolutely flawless...NO FAILURES!!! I had the upgrade mods done because I want to be able to carry my PMR 30 for more reliability and confidence and I believe I now have what I was looking for. Thanks guys!
Can't wait to get the new mods! I had already purchased 2 additional buffers from the factory, but no sense replacing weak with weak, I'm doing this upgrade too!
Only had 2 issues with FTF with the stock gun, both with 30 grain ammo. After installing the MCARBO feed ramp, mag release and spring, this thing chews through everything! It is one of my favorite 'pews to shewt'.
You guys are going to turn this into a serious EDC or truck gun (actually, you already have!). Keep up the great work!!

Got an "All in One" a while back...
Didn't put it in...until lately.
I ordered the upgraded buffer and pin and the aluminum frame brace. ... so three days ago I installed the ALL in One ..... the over travel for the trigger was so tight I couldn't use it......it bent the Alan key trying to screw it in. But still I really like the SS feed ramp and the trigger pull is outstanding.

Not sure about the bulky red dot mount , but the rest is just what I’ve been waiting on. My full M-Carbo bundle kit made my PMR trick as hell. Installed it last month and it was fairly easy with enough time and patience. The CZcams video for installation was a big help. Absolutely love it so far. Highly recommend to anyone with a stock version. M-Carbo..You guys ROCK!!! 🤘🏼

Recently installed the magazine release buttons on both my PMR's along with the feeding ramps and stronger springs and it actually seemed to make the issue worse, as far as unwanted mag releases goes, I think the edges of the button stuck out even further than the original one, which also gave me occasional problems, I remedied the problem completely with my Dremel tool. The new button does a great job however, of getting the mag to seat tight in the well and up where it is supposed to be and the feed ramp is perfect.
Just an update on the feed ramp and mag lock mcarbo parts. They've been on for about a year. I have had 2 malfunctions out of nearly 1500rds so far. Thats a win ! Well worth the money. Makes the pmr30 run perfect 💪🏻
You mention you took a stock PMR 30 out of the box and wanted to throw it away due to all the FTF's and FTE's. I have that problem as well, the only difference is I've done all the MCarbo updates to mine. I'm lucky to get half a dozen rounds out before a failure.

@@MCARBO I did contact MCarbo and even included photos of the FTF's. All I was told was send it to you and you'd install the upgrades and replace any bad factory parts. I've already installed the upgrades. You guys are selling the upgrades as a fix to the PMR30 issues and in my case they did nothing. I'm too deep into this pistol to throw any more money at it. Just going to take my licks and move on.

Got all your upgrades so far and LOVE the stuff! If ya'll are looking for ideas tho... A reliable magazine would be AWESOME (Even with the modified feed ramps & replacement retainer, only 2 of the 5 factory mags I have are REALLY reliable).
This is definitely on the list and in the making...
basic concept of this design was good, production execution, to include magazine quality and failure rates and heat treated retention pins should be mfg 101.
i hope i dont have to get rid of it. i had 1 of 3 mags fail. yes the high capacity was another nice attempt, but it seems overall that kel tec got out in front of itself.

Love my pmr 30. I have not upgraded anything to it yet but so far it ran flawlessly. Can you please do a water test on these upgrades incase of rain or maybe mud and sand. I really want this as my carry gun. Thank you
90% of folks crying about the PMR30 probably dont follow directions.
Get an autoloader and tap the mag every five rounds to settle the rounds
40 grain recommended. (I have recently tested the 35 grain A22 Savage and they work as good or better than the CCI.)
Ive had mine for 2 years. Had a ftf once and that was first mag and me handloading. Since autoloader runs sweet everytime.
My neighbor is gunsmith and said he loves shooting the PMR and all his friends want to run it when they shoot in the sandpits.

The only thing about that type of mount is you can’t holster the gun.
But that’s a personal preference , still nice though 🤙.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a milled aluminum top cover that can accept different red dots (adapter plates) and have a dove tail for a rear sight.
I think 22 mag should have enough energy to reciprocate the slide, but idk?

I picked up a PMR 30 a few years ago that was garbage.
I through all the common replacement and upgrade parts that were available at the time at it with no luck.
Full polish and lube, including the magazine would result in 2 magazines worth of ammo running well...
Then back to failure to feeds and failure to ejects.
I loved the gun other than that.
I actually found this video as I'm trying to see if keltec ever fixed the PMR30's issues lol

Someone needs to tell me when the best time to come across. I have an M3 that is sooo hard to drive "slow". Do they use lasers as well as Ka band radar? It's been a while. I got the M3 in 2008 in Sarasota. No ticket that time, amazingly.

I bought a PMR30 and the serial number looks more like a screwed up alphabet. So it's a GEN 2.
And it fired 240 rds out of the box. So since I have the KSG and cmr30 I ordered the the Gen2 threaded barrel.
So my suppressor can be mounted on either of them.
PMR/CMR. I STILL need several more mags. And the frame mounted R.D.O is something I'll look into.
How about making Halo for the PMR30 also?

Keltec offers only 2 RD mounts on the slide the Burris FF2&3 and that discontinued Docter sight I'd wonder if these newer RD's are lighter and won't mess up the reliability

Are there plans for a slide release? Currently keltec says you're not supposed to use the lock and slingshot the slide on empty (should you ever reach it)

I LIKE this. So is this going to be a completely different gun, or the same as a PMR 30? I have a PMR 30 and at the moment not very happy with it. One problem after another. My latest is what I believe is a broken firing pin, which I am expecting in the mail this week from you guys. So my question I guess is can I convert my existing PMR 30 into the PMR 30 M? I have already bought the red dot mount to go over the rear sights, but like this new one mounting to the frame. I really don't want to take the chance of just buying a PMR 30M when Walther has come out with a semiautomatic 22mag pistol now. So what should I do??????????
Buy the walther i got one for Christmas not very many problems with it and its red dot ready also i put a crimson trace red dot on it also has load assist on the magazines and paddle mag drops
I did the feedramp up grade, though it didn't need it, mine was always reliable, now why not provide a threaded barrel? That's what's really needed instead of these fancy dressings, I mean some of us want to add a silencer for a much needed ear protection!!!!!!!!!!!!....

They are working on it, a quad stack metal magazine has never been done before. It is a tough project but is being worked on by MCarbo, (I work at MCarbo).
I would be very interested in a MCarbo PMR30. My regular one was sold about 2 years ago…terrible functionality.

I've added all the upgrades MCarbo makes and the most rounds I've gotten without a stoppage was 18. Usually it's less than 10 rounds before a FTF, FTE. I've used every brand and bullet weight of every .22 magnum made for this pistol and it's worthless. Can you please help me to get this thing to run like it's supposed to?

Keltec should never have released the PMR 30 until it actually ran out of the box. MCARBO should just manufacture the pistol himself.

Sir. I am demanding a new stronger improved firing pin for both the cmr30 and the pmr30! I will order buffer safety operator mag which I’m missing. I found out today the firing pin for cmr30 breaks at 800 rds and for the pmr30 at about 1000 rds. With such a weak firing pin it really has turned me off from getting any more mods. Thanks again hope to see a video soon with a 10k rds firing pin if not 20k rds firing pin would be even better thanks again for reading this venting msg.

I'm not a fan of the red dot mount, I find the factory irons (fiber optic) are good enough to hit a popper 5 times as it falls...
But I need a new buffer and all the help it can get!

I had a brand new one, read the manual, use the ammo recomended, never could get a mag dump, every 6 or 7 rounds got stuck. Also after try and try the firing pin broke...
@@azazelakira12 I'm sorry to hear that, have you contacted keltec? I just bought one despite bad things I've heard. I havent had enough 22 mag ammo to really put it through it's paces but of the 200ish rounds I did put though it I was surprised to not need any upgrading or tweaking
Manual has nothing todo replacing the cheap parts is the trick ..
@@MasQueVencedorEnCristo It really is mostly reading the manual on recommended ammo and loading procedures. 9 out of 10 problems people seem to have with the PMR/CMR-30 and CP-33 can be attributed to loading the mag incorrectly or with the wrong ammo.
@@ranchlife8128 wrong. I had to send mine back twice. The first time because it would fail to feed on every single round. Mags loaded correctly per the manual and with recommended ammo. Got it back and it ran better, however, it freaking blew up in my hand in my face. Blew out the casing because it fired out of battery. Blew out the slide lock and the firing pin cover. Sent it back to the factory and they repaired it again. Runs fine now though 🙄
What does the upgraded buffer do?
Doesn't wear as fast as the OEM buffer.

Kel TEC may as well make mcarbo an official partner is they aren't already. Just have mcarbo manufacture their internals, since keltec keeps making plastic trash internals. Loved my s2k but basically bought two to make one gun worth a damn.
Cool but this upgrade is the price of the the gun. If your gun doesn't work you send it in to keltec and they'll fix it. I really don't see paying essentially $600 for the pmr after your upgrades

I think Optics Planet may still have to Speer Gold Dot at twice the normal price and MidwayUSA had some Savage specific a couple hours ago.
I was truly surprised when 22 magnum ran out I thought it was such a specialty round that there would be plenty I come to find out that the factories that make them shifted their focus to more common rounds like 9 mm that's why the shortage.
Having said that I kind of stopped going to gun shows a few years back as they were boring, expensive and packed with idiots etc I've recently started to go to gun shows again and I have found 22 magnum every single time!

I was in the process of mounting a burris 3 to the slide. the safety seems fine as is, why i need an aluminum swap is questioned. Does the polymer safety break that often?

All of this seems like a desperate attempt to cover up design flaws with mods instead of just getting the design engineering right the first time.
kel tec mfgs down the street from me. you would think the QA maintained at the Kennedy Space Center would have some influence on in house QA at kel tec.
I really enjoy shooting this gun. I am going to continue with my mods; talons with a TC plate and burris 3 and if it blows up ill let you know.
I did not hear the price of this kit, but the computer said two hundred and fifty dollars. I already have a severe case of red ass in messing with this junk, so I will have to think about that one.
