Growing up in the 80s I was more into HipHop and Metal though there was always a song like this that stood out, classic song for sure. RIP Kenny Rogers.
I heard this song countless times as a kid and really thought it was just about gambling. As an adult now, I hear what you heard and I’m blown away. What a great song. I’m so glad you reacted to this, it will never be the same for me!

"The Coward Of The County" is a good one to react to. It's one of my favorites. Good story telling, but it does have some heavy subject matter.

Not a gambler's song at all. A LIFE LESSON.

Half the song was missing. The other half of the song talks about how his son defended a girl who was about to get gang r@p3d by a group of brothers and he beat the living cr@p of them and then spoke to his Dad and acknowledged that he understood the message, but sometimes you have to do things for the good of others that go against general advice.
