Bacolod's hustle and bustle is of the friendly sort, which is probably why it has earned for itself the popular nickname, the "City of Smiles." The capital of Negros Occidental province, located in the Philippines' Western Visayas region, it truly seems to be a place where people have managed to stay true their roots. In Bacolod, a typical day is not so typical, what with all the recreational areas, historical sights, restaurants and hotels that can fill up 24 hours in no time.
