- Led Zeppelin- LED ZEPPELIN IV Man this album was something else I could see why it's so highly acclaimed loved every moment of it and even songs I didn't like that much like "Four Sticks" are growing on me. I could really see how they made their mark with this album and can't wait to check out more. Hope you guys enjoy and like and subscribe if you did. #LedZeppelin

It hurts cutting these songs up 😔
We understand why you have to do it.
The important thing is that for your first time listening, YOU get to hear it uncut. We've all heard this album countless times, because it's that good! I really appreciate that you do full album reactions. You're one of the few who do this, and your enthusiasm is infectious!
You might try Fleetwood Mac's -Then play on, has some great tracks I think you might make your playlist
We forgive you...as long as you are able to appreciate great music!
@@garyclark5698 Great suggestion, and Kiln House!
Your reactions are the best fr, it's always a good time to see you jamming out
But as far as Zeppelin's discography goes, I'd also totally recommend their album "Physical Graffiti".
It's a looong one, but many would argue that it's as great, if not greater than IV. hope this helps!
Yesssssss
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Led Zeppelin.there are no bad zeppelin songs. But to really understand the growth of the band and their musical diversity. You should start at the beginning and work your way through their albums.Every album is unique and different from the last. Led Zeppelin is the greatest band to ever grace the stage enjoy. There are no bad zeppelin songs only timeless masterpieces that will never get old or fade away.
The story goes that Bonzo was having a difficult time during the recording of Four Sticks (he actually used 4 sticks) that he got frustrated and went into a Little Richard drum intro “Keep A Knockin” , and the Jimmy started with a Chuck Berry type guitar riff, and the tape was rolling. 15 minutes later, the basis for the song “Rock and Roll” was born.
Yes...amazing isn't it? So many fabulous songs come out of jam sessions and when you have such amazing musical genius like Zeppelin had...magic happens!
Julie Manarin So well said!
They released this album without any advertising or press, they didnt even put their name on it! It was completely untitled
Before they went on I witnessed them parading from dressing room backstage 😯😳😁😎 MADISON SQUARE GARDEN also at WOLLERMAN SKATING RINK CENTRAL PARK NYC opening act B.B.KING 😍
Gotta react to Led Zeppelin "Houses of The Holy" album
Three classic albums in one day . Great work mate .
They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band…
Battle of evermore is the only time anybody else (outside the band) sang with robert. Its also the 1st time jimmy ever picked up a mandolin aswell!!
The Battle of Evermore is about Lord Of The Rings. Also in part so is Misty Mountain Hop
Great reaction as always! Getting into more Led Zeppelin? Go for it! LZ I and LZ II and III are great too! Woman singing w/Robert Plant on the Battle for Evermore is Sandy Denny. Going to California is about Joni Mitchell.
Love LZ I....and all the others! Thanks for appreciating the best r & r group of all time. 👍❤
The singer with Robert Plant was Sand Denny, who was one of the great celtic/folk singers. She used to be in a band called Fairport Convention. She died very young in 1978.
*Sandy. She wasn't Celtic.
@@heliotropezzz333 how come? Wasn't Fairport Convention Celtic Folk?
@@pabloalvez915 It was English folk music primarily. It was an English band. That's not to say they didn't also do songs from Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
@@heliotropezzz333 Of course, they also did music from those areas. Nonetheless, my doubt is: was Fairport Convention an Anglo - Saxon Folk band or merely a part of the traditional British musical heritage? Is there any Anglo - Saxon Folk Music movement? To me, they were British, English yet British.
What I perceive as Anglo - Saxon is the Folk music from Saxony in Germany or the Anglo music from Southern Denmark.
But this just me, there's certainly a better explanation, anyway.
You have to checkout Led Zeppelin I and II and so on.
Keep on playing these classic rock albums, my friend. "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull is another legendary rock album.
I was backstage at FILLMORE EAST for two AQUALUNG shows though young dumb stoned - not able to complete writing assignment - smoking in the JOSHUA LIGHT SHOW booth 😖
Good review/reaction vid, you picked a great LZ album to begin with - no fillers on this, or any other LZ album. Perhaps now, after listening all the way through one of their albums, you can understand why people say their favourite LZ song is always the last one they listened to.
Have fun discovering more of their fantastic body of work, I almost envy you your journey 😃
I feel so bad that you could not be in the 60's and 70's when these albums/songs first came out. It was an amazing era. But at least you are getting to experience it and it is your first time. You are reacting to it the same way we all did back then. Love it!
Great video. You should do them all.
More Led Zeppelin.
Subscribed.
GREAT EPIC album, right? Probably one of the best ever done. The perennial question was always, 'Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd?' - I can only answer "Yes!" If you wanna have fun sometime, check out Dread Zeppelin for Zep and Dub Side Of The Moon for Floyd -- they're mash-up covers.
Agreed-don’t take my Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd away from me! I’d love to see him react to Live at Pompeii.
That sounds amazing I got to check it out almost like a collab of your favorite artists and bands
I can dig it cause I was bopping exactly the same as you to every song, great album and Zep has to be appreciated as a master recording artist as well as live, but for me they were masters of what they made in the studio
"When the Levee Breaks" was first recorded by black blues woman, Memphis Minnie in the 1930's. Of course, it sounded different, but blues music gave birth to rock and roll.
When the Levee Breaks was written in 1929 by old Blues artist Memphis Minnie and recorded the same year by her and Kansas Joy McCoy.
The thing about Led Zeppelin, every song off every one of their original albums is very good to great, there are no bad Led Zeppelin songs. They were and still are, the best.
That’s Sandy Denny singing with Robert Plant on Battle of Evermore. She was a folk rock singer in a band called Fairport Convention. It was the only other person outside of the band to ever play with them on record.
I interviewed SANDY DENNY backstage Carnegie Hall afternoon before FAIRPORT CONVENTION show she had a sad end falling down stairs 😓💗
Boogie with Stu. Although you may have meant singers
Great review, man
Bonham is pronounced like “bon-um”
Thanks Man
Goosebumps......
Greatest band of all time! Loving your reactions and your enthusiasm! Keep it up! Might I suggest you react to Led Zeppelin 2? That one is phenomenal too. They didn’t release a bad album though. I’m enjoying your journey!
Yes no bad songs!
Ooohhhh yyeeaaahhh...I love this one! I think it is better than the first 3! By the way Robert plays harmonica and JPJ plays mandolin!
Every album is Led Zeppelin’s best. Just depends on what mood you’re in!
Love their first album.
Great reation!
It's good that you are experiencing the greatest albums by each artist first.
Some only have one great album, putting there experience in one piece of work.
We all have a story to tell or one album wonders!
True artists know how to express this on a more expensive, larger and more meaningful bodies of work, such as Floyd and Zeppelin.
There have been some great first albums by artists where their best work lies and have tailed off soon afterwards.
Check out great first albums or one album greats:
Smashing Pumpkins
Kings of Leon
Stone Roses
Oasis
Del Amitri
Air
Arctic Monkeys
I'm drunk and tired so I'm sure there will be some other suggestions and disagreements to my post. 🤣🤣🤣
I know you have to cut it but in Battle of Evermore you cut some of the best bits, including the vocal harmonies and vocal counterpoints. I think Stairway to Heaven (where heaven could be a metaphor for happiness) was about materialism vs spirituality and the limitations of materialism as a road to happiness.
I loved the build up of the lyrics to the vocals and harmonies and I tried editing as little as I can at first of battle of evermore it was so hard to find what to cut. I ended up cutting more because for some reason battle of evermore, going to California, and misty mountain hop kept getting the video blocked😔. And thanks for the insight on stairway to Heaven I see what you’re saying as in the end material things lead to temporary happiness.
@@fiendjony778 O.K . Sounds like you didn't have much choice.
My favorite Zeppelin album is “Physical Graffiti”
Mine too. Hard to pick favorites but that one is on another level!
Yeah IV and Physical Graffiti are best I think
Arguably the greatest rock album ever recorded!
that would be Nevermind (i know its grunge, but its still a rock subgenre)
@@BonkoPlayzMinecraft nah
@@BonkoPlayzMinecraftNope
Their Physical Graffiti album is just as good! But some tracks on an album make it your "best" album...just your taste. It is IV...IV is 4 in Roman numerals! So it is with Zeppelin 4 or untitled!!
Or Zoso because of the symbols.
Should start with there first album
BTW "When the Levee Breaks" has been sampled alot, Beasty Boys and M&M😉
I would say the album Physical Graffiti but it's a double album so twice as long for reaction..... But twice the joy!
Frriendly FYI:
IV is Roman Numerals for "4"
I = 1
V= 5
EVERY SONG brings back a MEMORY & you DON'T get to FINISH the thought's...
There is no best or worst LZ album. S’all good!
6:58 the highest note robert ever reached in the studio! (He could go even higher live!!) And they buried it in the mix!!
The rock is live
Four Sticks is a Deep Cut. (Headphones!!!) You don't need to start with LZ I. I started with LZ II in 1969.
If you compare this version of Stairway to the live version you heard from 1973, one subtle difference you can notice is that Robert Plant didn’t hit all of the highest notes at the end in the ‘73 live show and generally didn’t sound as good on that high part. His voice had been damaged by then, and he’d lost a lot of range and power, and the clarity he had here on the high notes. This got worse by ‘75 though. His vocal peak lasted up through 1971 (the year this album was recorded). Throughout live shows in ‘72 it progressively declined to the point where by the end of ‘72 he was replacing a lot of the high notes with lower ones. People sometimes mistakenly think that Plant just couldn’t hit live notes live (because most often they hear that ‘73 show or ‘75 performances)-but if you listen to live shows up through ‘71, he actually often went even higher than he did in the studio on a lot of songs.
Might want to cut down on the bass a little. This isn't just about John paul
Please listen to MGMT ORACULAR SPECTACULAR full Classic LP 😁😎
Levee. Le Vee. As in Dam
Aerosmith's 4th album, Rocks
John Paul Jones was the one you missed. He made it happen.
Go Fuckin Bonzo!
react to led zeppelin 3 broo
Daunting undertaking ZEP 4 but all the cutting ruined it. Pause talk rewind 10 seconds so we don't miss our favorite parts most of us know this album word for word💯
Good reason for the Lord of the Rings feeling. Robert Plant was into it back then. And you will here references to it
And there’s the reference to Gollum in Ramble On (from Zep 2)...
Physical Graffiti will change you
i feel physical graffiti is their best. But they didnt make bad albums. Start at I
I will not watch reactions that get cut, deleting important parts... get it together Brah
good reaction but you fucked misty mountain hop all the way up
you don't cut the songs!!!! youdisrespect the music by butchering it that is arrogant! bye-will not watch
