I have been discouraged and feeling down about the my state.lately I have been trying to find interesting things about Ohio to find my love for it..Around 2003 it went to shit and just hasn't been the same😪Nothing to really do around here and especially when it comes to keeping the kids busy...just drugs and crime like everywhere else..Its so sad anymore.i am so close to moving.
Born and raised in Ohio, and I love looking for gems, minerals, crystals, etc... There's not a place I don't go to where I'm not on the lookout for treasures lol.
Nice adventure trip to Ohio, wow all kinds of cool looking rocks, that can be a big distraction when you are looking for gold, I get caught up in the rocks as well good luck next trip.
I live on the shore of Erie , near Headlands State Park . The Gold is surprisingly abundant in Lake Erie's tributaries in the N.E. of the State. II love the geology of this area.
No, don’t spare me the agony of panning it down. I need to see you doing this. Most people pan way too fast & violently. I’ve gotta know what to expect when I pan out the blonde sand & finer material. I really dig how you just gently wiggle off the blondes. Haven’t seen anyone do that yet, but I can definitely do that & it looks way more efficient & easy. Thanks for taking your time. Wish more people took their time.
My brother used to hunt arrowheads and artifacts all up and down the Ohio River from Vienna down past the Dupont factory all the way to Belleville. Beautiful area!!!---
Most of the glacial gold in ohio is to the north west, though northeast has some near lake Erie as well, maybe even more. Some kid found an 8 gram nugget here last week right on the beach in a pile of black sand.
Thanks for taking us along James on another adventure. That place gets prettier every time I watch I guess the weather is getting a lot better too. With glazier gold it is where you find it more so than the geology?
Wow, I actually live in Southern Ohio (Ironton) and I've always wondered if there was any Gold or ANYTHING here in Ohio like other States have Diamonds and other Gem Stones and also Gold & Silver, But I've NEVER heard of Ohio having anything like this, So this is good to know....
Just started gold panning this week. Been around to all the good spots here in Ross county. I’ve found a good bit of garnets. But I’m having trouble telling the gold apart from other smaller yellow rocks
Gold will stick like glue in a pan, if any doubt, press on it with a pin, if is breaks apart, it's not Gold. If it bends or mashes its likely Gold. Also, Gold will glimmer and shine in the shade and in light. Other materials in your pan won't shine in the shade. Hope this helps buddy, heavy pans!
This is the video ove been needing to see and to think it took a West Virginia boy to show me that there's gold in my backyard 😅 thanks bro love your videos. Now I just need to get out and find some for myself, what's the list of things a beginner like myself needs to take with me the first time and every time? 😆 Haven't made it to the end of the video here yet but I just know you found some gold
Once you find some you'll be hooked! You can easily get started with only a pan. But a sluice box will let you run more material. Thanks for watching my friend!
Do you have an equipment list somewhere or a link to the sluice box you use? I’ve thought of doing this for some time now and I think I found a few rivers that would be perfect for it here in the cleveland area. I’m always looking for an excuse to spend all day out side and I’d I can make some money doin it my girl can’t complain 😅 actually she would be fighting me for the best spots.
Yep sapphires rare but there here, found .y first and only one last fall ,right in the Backyard, but there's really hard gems I haven't gotten tested also, but seen enough to know I should b digging down to bedrock and lower, needing a fresh water well ,can't trust the municipality in a completely destructive quake , about a hundred ft down in lower elevation about half mile away there's these little cracks in the clay and mud with really fine gold ,not enough to bother with ,some ancient hot springs, the money will b in a close by underground stream ,but almost impossible to get deep enough and lucky enough
Hey Tim, I didn't realize you live in West Virginia. I just had to edit my whole comment just about. But you should come to Harrison, ohio to pan. Just from buddies bringing me random buckets of sand & gravel from the whitewater River and from Nov 2022 - Feb 2023 I've panned out 10.78 grams of beautiful shiny gold. Get ahold of me next time you're in southwest Ohio Mr.Tim .
Im from Washington WVA Near Blenerhasset Island. Where in ohio. Ive been in a lot of it.parkersburg into Belpre oh My spelling stinks but still part of old stomping grounds
Hahah you’re like me man I’ll leave with 50 lbs of rock in addition to all my fishing gear. You want to come rock hunting man I have a beach that will blow your mind up here in cleveland. Seriously it’s a dream. Catch it on a rainy day and you will get stuck out there because everywhere you look is a beautiful rock you want to take with you. I was out there for 12 hrs straight this winter just making piles of rocks that I couldn’t decide which to keep.
That sounds like a great time for sure! My wife and I live in PA and we go to Mconnels Mill here to find cool rocks. You have to dig down in the creek to find the good ones. They are left over from the glacial period.
State Parks in Ohio are a no,no . National Park, I'd check with the District office in the area. I always get landowners permission, and I do a little creek trash pick up. Within reason of course.
Hey everyone, I'm looking to try this.im in Bolivar ohio and want to work my way down the Tuscarawas river and adjoining creeks.looking for someone who wants to go on this adventure with me
@@adventuretimeprospecting that's all I needed to know. Great gold ! I'm going to get back out there. I was out and about looking yesterday for potential spots to look for gold. Thanks again for replying.
@@adventuretimeprospecting , south central... that's my area.. stay out of my area.. just kidding.. but someday, we may run into each other.. that would be so cool...
Why is it that everyone wants to do a how to find gold and shows 30 minutes of feeding handfuls of dirt into their sluice and 15 minutes panning but fails to show where and how they’re digging and why they chose that spot over others. Two Toes and flour gold wizard are the only ones I’ve seen that teaches rather than hiding their secrets and bragging how much gold they got.
Did you just say beautiful Ohio? Thank you. I needed to hear that. I love our state. I hope you find pounds of gold!!
I absolutely love your beautiful state! And thank you very much for the kind words!

I live here but I'm from England and I actually don't like when I hear Ohioans talk down on this state. I love Ohio.
A fellow ohioian, and I agree it’s sad to see what’s become of some areas. Hope it turns around!
I’m from Ohio and I’m getting interested in panning for gold so I’m glad someone else has in this state.
Born and raised in Ohio, and I love looking for gems, minerals, crystals, etc... There's not a place I don't go to where I'm not on the lookout for treasures lol.
Awesome ! Didn’t think it’d be possible but there you go! And yes Ohio is beautiful
Ohio is a wonderful place !

I'm glad that I ain't the only one! And thank you very much!
Good job, your sluice was running perfect. You gotta love that!
Thank you! It was running like a sewing machine!
Oh my god, this was great! You sound like me when I’m out. I actually have a wagon and bought a portable winch to get all my rocks & stuff.
I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Really, the beach o ? Is it lake Erie
That black sand could have platinum in high concentration!
Half hour to short! Ha ha I kid ,can we get the quick adventure?
Thanks for taking us along James on another adventure. That place gets prettier every time I watch I guess the weather is getting a lot better too. With glazier gold it is where you find it more so than the geology?
I look for streams that cut through the glacial areas, then just do some test panning. Glacial gold can hide just about anywhere.
some nice finds enjoyed watching

You're local pretty much, so this will be more realistic. So far, I enjoyed your show. I'll sit and watch. Lol

Ha ha! You made my day today with that comment! I love it!! Heavy pans my friend!

I'm in Lorain County, Ohio and I think it's beautiful here. I don't know why people have been making fun of it lately online lol.
It is beautiful... Gotta love the haters..
Would i have any luck in the Sandusky or Little Olentangy rivers?
Probably so! I'd definitely try some panning!
James you are a WV rock hound, and you can't help picking up them rocks.
Ain't that the truth!
I use to live in Point Pleasant WV. Out of curiosity how far is this location from there?
About 50 miles.
This wouldn't happen to be a channel off the Ohio river would it? If not have you ever found any in channels off the Ohio river??
Lots of gold in creeks thru out southern ohio
You are very cool
Thank you very much for watching my friend! I truly appreciate your support, and YOU chris9603 !!
Reminds me of William Osman... HE USED A FLAT SHOVEL
Where at in Ohio was this?
do the flakes get bigger the further north you go?
In my experience they do, but it all depends I reckon.
i live in ohio an go fishing all the time all over the place i need see gold before but now am going to look
What part of Ohio did you dig in
What part of Ohio are you in? I'm in gallipolis
i lived in ohio all my life and never seen a creek like that where you at what part of ohio
What part of Ohio are you in panning for placer gold... Interesting!!! 👍
The Scioto River has pretty dang good gold! I was on Paint Creek.

Hillbilly gold. I love it.
Thank you!
How much would you say that amount of gold is worth?
Probably not much, under a dollar. The real gold is in the adventure! Finding a little color is the icing on the cake.
Just for Future Trips, Me and me family call it A-hi-a... Get it right for the NexT Tripp
I'll give it a go!!
Is this worth doing or more of a hobby?
You should season your pan
Metal detector?
Wish I had one
do u need a permit? or anything
State Parks in Ohio are a no,no . National Park, I'd check with the District office in the area. I always get landowners permission, and I do a little creek trash pick up. Within reason of course.
Other than that, grab a pan and hit your local creek! You never know!
Where in Ohio were you?
Have you came back to Ohio yet? I've found 8 grams this year so far
That's really cool. Roughly how many days'hours you think that took you? I'm in Ohio too, and have always been curious about my creek.
Any one find gold in little miami warren or hamilton co. Ohio
I would love to join you
We can definitely do that!
Do you have instagram?
But the Garnett aren't big enough to do anything with.
They definitely get in the way of panning 🤣
@Adventure Time Prospecting there's a lot of little garnets in ohio, richland county is full too
❤I seen this long ago posted & its cool but please sir PIPE DOWN🤫🤫 .... From a southern Cincinnati boy yeah im only kinda joking😊🤙
TRY GREENVILLE OHIO FOR BETTER GOLD....
Will do!

Dude ! Hell yeah! Roll out West Virginia anytime. Ima put you on gold!
Scioto river, is good for gold. As is paint ck. Keep eye out for arrowheads and other artifacts +
I'm going all in on this, what part of west Virginia?
Kanawha and Putnam County my brother!!!
From the looks of it you are possibly losing most of your material at the base of your flared end of the sluice box .
Probably.
@@adventuretimeprospecting I like the response lol
Why do you say this and how do you prevent this?
I live in Ohio also
I live in West Virginia, but I frequent Ohio, it's a very beautiful state!
We're in Ohio was this?
On Paint Creek
Strange
Where in ohio?
In the south central area.
@@adventuretimeprospecting that's all I needed to know. Great gold ! I'm going to get back out there. I was out and about looking yesterday for potential spots to look for gold. Thanks again for replying.
Don't over look gravel bars in the Scioto River. I've done pretty good on those too!

No sir, but it is a tributary of the Scioto. Only a few miles away. There's good gold on the Scioto too!
The video should be called how to waste time and money prospecting
