- From the Academy Award nominated film, Stand By Me. Based on the short story by Stephen King, The Body. This is probably the most memorable scene from the film.
Four boys decide to go on a journey to uncover the body of a local missing boy, hoping to become heroes. While on their journey, Gordie tells the fictional story of David "Lard-Ass" Hogan, an obese boy who is constantly bullied. Seeking revenge, Lard-Ass enters a pie-eating contest and throws up deliberately, inducing mass vomiting among contestants and the audience (which Gordie dubs a "barf-o-Rama").
I edited out the parts where Teddy keeps interrupting Gordy. - Zábava
One of the best movies ever.
Lardass is the kind of kid who I would show genuine compassion to, & if possible take under my wing to offer heartfelt guidance, support, wisdom, understanding, affectionate friendship & admiration, just to help the kid out & hopefully boost his spirits. Kids like him need all of that.
God Bless all the Lardasses out there, may they find peace & love while prospering happily (I'm always rooting for the cruelly ostracized, the bullied, the marginalized, & those who are odd or are suffering, they deserve compassion!)❤❤

I like them talking afterwards about what happened to Lard Ass and Vern asking the dumb question, "Did Lard Ass have to pay to get into the contest?"
One of the best scenes in film. It makes me hark back to second grade. I was a sad ugly weird kid. I eat something at lunch that didn't agree with me. During math class it hit I leaned into the Isle and vomited. Some hit the girl across from me and she cut lose. Six, perhaps seven kids vomited. At the time I was embarrassed. But when I saw this scene it brought a beautiful reconciliation to me.
Two continuity errors: 1. There is more pie on Lard Ass' face just before he starts to get sick than in the shot before, then it becomes less again when he stands up. 2. Bossman is leaning back in fright over what Lard Ass is going to do and then in the next shot, he is sitting upwards away from the men he was leaning against before.
There's not singing crickets in the Cascade forests, btw

He went home and celebrated with a couple of cheeseburgers Before shooting his father then running away and joining the Texas Rangers.

They screw up with the whole Oregon thing switcharoo over Maine with one detail. Togus is a Veteran’s Psychiatric facility in the State of Maine. The older teenagers taunt the younger kid by saying his Dad’s nuts and at Togus.
The entire town fat shames and then they end up all literally taking all the s*** they talk and throw it upon them. Godbless you Lardass, I love you
