“What are you gonna do, shoot all of us?”
“No, Ace, just you.”
I can see why Ace walked away
Yeah, typical narcissistic behavior meant to bring everyone down with him, which Gordie shut down by isolating him.
Considering there were at least six shots left, he easily could have twice. Who knows if he had extra magazines? A 1911's magazine held 7, 8, 9 or 10 rounds of .45 ACP or .38 Super. Yes, same capacities applies to 10mm 1911s but in the time period of the story, 10mm wasn't around then. Best you can do with 1911's back then was .45 ACP or .38 Super. Judging from the muzzle, I'm thinking .38 Super.

He coulda taken a few more with him. Cause he had enough rounds. And enough to scare away the rest of the gang.
He had absolute power in that position.

Gordies standoff with Ace is very powerful because it shows us that Gordie has put his childhood behind him. Seeing Ray's body made Gordie realize that that the dark things that are in life need to be confronted directly if he wants to grow up. Which is what gives him the courage to stand up against Ace with no fear. Gordie saves his friend not as a child but as a young man who isn't scared to kill to do what is right.
Perfect discription of what this scene means and what it's supposed to mean that a lot of people forget when they grow up especially what's going on in the world today Blessings ✌️🍀❤️💜💙
This comment made me cry. You, sir, have told me what I need to hear. Thank you.
Just watched an interview with RobReiner which said the same sentiment ,in the original story Stephen King had Chris hold the gun and threaten Ace, during the private screening with RR and SK Stephen told Reiner that he wished he thought of it, that it completed Gordie's arc into manhood and wished he wrote it that way in the story.
True mature adults deal with anything head on instead of runaway
Without the gun you think Gordie had the sack to confront Ace?
Apparently Sutherland remained in character all through the movie even when they were not filming and the kids were scared of him.

Eyeball comes off as pretty bad to all his siblings in the book. After the events from the movie, Eyeball beats Chris up severely, breaking his arm and leaving his face heavily bruised. Still, Chris protects Eyeball by calling a neighbor and asking her to go over to his house to ask his mom to take the lightbulb out in the basement so that he can say he fell down the dark basement stairs and injured himself.

Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
