Ananya has been an unproblematic and good person and now eith kho gaye hum kaha she has proved herself ❤️

Ananya is slowly growing on the audience, and it has to do with her ability to take criticism and take in her stride. What a wonderful span of growth. I loved her in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, she was natural and effortless in her acting abilities. I am going to watch all her work moving forward, not just because she is a good actor, but also when I watch her interviews, I get the sense that she is grounded and presents herself very positive and her head seems to be in the right place.

She was good in it, and you should check it out as well before hating on her. I am not comparing Ananya to anyone else or her movies to any others. Even Anupama agrees she did well in that movie, and in Anupama I trust. It takes only one movie to change the career trajectory of an actor. Ananya is great, but the comparison to Deepika is unwarranted and actually is unfair to Ananya. Deepika had debuted in a commercial hit film, was in an Imtiaz Ali classic at age 24 and was in a Sanjay Bhansali film at age 27. This graph is unmatched and no actor below age 28 in today's era has come close to Deepika's filmography in her 20s.

I understand the comparison to Deepika getting the world to see her as an actor to reckon with cocktail, but the difference is that Deepika shifted to a different city and adapting to an industry which is alien to her upbringing. Didn’t really appreciate the comparison with Deepika. She had to face consequences of her flops, had to do her fair share of duds flowerpot roles to earn big directors and fleshed out roles like Cocktail, SLB, Ayan, Shakun. Privileged south Bombay actresses like Ananya and Alia are served directors like Shakun and Imtiaz from early on. So unfair to give them all the praises when others like Dp Sanya Malhotra Tripti have to prove themselves over and over before they get the big ones

Film Companion has always been biased. It's been a long time and you must have realised this by now. The fact that despite 12th Fail being Anupama's husband's movie, still Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar haven't been interviewed on Film Companion, just shows how much bias they have towards starkids. Better not expect the same and accept Film Companion as it is.

I laud her performance in KGHK just as much as the next viewer, but I wouldn't dwell too much on to it. That role wasn't exactly a hard role for anyone (esp someone from her background - janvi, sara, etc) to play. There wasn't anything challenging about it, if one keeps Kangana in Tannu weds Mannu or Priyanka in Barfi as the benchmark. A good performance nevertheless.

The fact that Anupama Chopra compared Ananya’s performance in kghk to Deepika’s breakthrough in Cocktail is laughable. Deepika’s role from Cocktail to every single role she has done till date is very much ✨hers✨ meaning, she’s irreplaceable in every one of them. Ananya was good in kghk. Surprise surprise!!! an actor could finally act after a gazillion chances, in a role where she basically played her extended self. Her role could be played by anyone. But when you think of Veronica, you can’t think of anyone but Deepika suitable for the role. Kghk, good film. Ananya Panday’s acting in the movie, OVERHYPED. Adarsh Gourav was the real start of the film.
This is how they uplifted Alia through false media narratives, Kjo put her against deepika’s immediately after Highway. Which was good, but still very raw performance.. a Sanya malhotra would’ve done it better

You know when Alia started,she was far worse behaviour patterns and activities. She was like a 10 year old girl. And that's why she was trolled. Because in some functions she did somethings that you can't expect from in that age. But now look at her. When she acted in gangubai kathiawadi, it's just Alia. I jst couldn't shift my eyes from her. And as a mature person,how she speaks now,how she presentes herself now, it's tremendous. But for Ananya it's happening earlier. And I am happy about that. She is understanding that you can not say and do anything anywhere. She is now practicing how to talk, how to walk and especially she is focusing on acting skills. I am happy for her.
