    It's my favorite Sisters song.

Never heard much from these, but it was a great dance tune, I will have to check out some more from them, cheers for a cool show man!

I’m only familiar with their hits, so it was great to hear a deeper cut. They definitely had a harder rocking sound than other Post punk / goth bands.

Yay, Sisters of Mercy! One of the goth greats, though Andrew Eldritch would hate being called that 😁 Great that you picked Floorshow - it's one of my favourites but it's definitely one of their less appreciated songs. So darkly groovy. And it's not to everyone's taste but I adore their kind of sharp, tinny drum-machine sound.
I love the album Floodland (1987), which has all their big hits, and even enjoy their later stuff that people tend to find quite cheesy. But their earlier songs like Floorshow, Body Electric and the original Temple of Love have so much raw post-punk cool. Thanks for sharing!

My favourite band and one of their best songs, though I love them all. The live version of Floorshow at the Royal Albert Hall "Wake" performance in 1985 is fabulous and the concert was filmed. Their first album First and Last and Always is a classic and the early EPs are all amazing. Next song.......Nine While Nine.

I know it's the most predictable thing to suggest other bands in these comments, but here I go! If you enjoyed that, try some Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - same city, same era, similar haunting vocals, same shrill rawness of the sound. Sounds like you like to find your own song to listen to, but here are a few I'd recommend anyway: He's Read, She Said, Talk About the Weather.

Not bad as a first choice. You'd have been on equally firm ground with something like Alice, Body Electric, Anaconda, or Adrenochrome, the last of which is an oft neglected gem in my opinion.
Those early recordings as vocals, one, later two guitars, bass and drum machine (credited as Doktor Avalanche)) are definitely my favourite period of the band. Later on when Wayne Hussey joined on second guitar things started to get strained, leading to their first split from '85 to '87, resulting in Wayne forming The Mission and Eldritch eventually reforming a new Sisters of Mercy from which you get those more heavily produced tunes you refer to, and the album Floodland, coproduced by Jim Steinman of Meat Loaf fame.
P.S. If you want a real treat check out their cover of Jolene, it's an absolute classic.

I'd go along with pretty much everything you said. I wasn't as in to the Sisters at the time as all my mates, but going back to their early stuff is a real treat. Anaconda is my favourite. Although it brought them success and money, I really didn't like Floodlands.
