- Designed for armored reconnaissance purposes, meet one of the best wheeled tank destroyer made by French, AMX-10 RC armored vehicle. Different from the amphibious AMX-10 P, the AMX-10 RC is mainly deployed for reconnaissance missions in dangerous environments or for effective direct fire support in the battlefield. Recently, President Emmanuel Macron promised Ukraine to supply AMX-10 RC armored vehicles, but his administration did not specify how many or when they would be delivered. So, how is it going on?

People need to stop dissing this vehicle. Used properly, as designed, it is an excellent scout/direct fire support unit.
amx 10 was proven as junk in the ukraine totally suicidal to ride into battle in that piece of cr.. It was junk even when designed-the whole idea of mounting a big direct fire gun on rubber wheels is ridiculous and that piece of sh.. costs more than a tank
The Czech proved wheeled spgs are actually better in some cases than tracked and armies have been using wheeled recon vehicles and apcs for a long time but for an armored car to act like a tank is nonsensical It just proves French technology is obsolete compared to the Great Powers and French tactical thought is stagnant and has been for the last hundred and twenty years That horror doesnt even have add on armor It shouldnt have been designed in the first place and even if created it should not have been accepted but somehow the French designed it and their army took it in

@@MrRaulstrnad Ukraine admitted they did use it in the wrong way at first, then they changed their way of using it and it proved to be real good (recon+fire support only). Thing is, like many of old vehicles in any army, it's weak vs uav/drone.
It is a recon vehicle, can be used as fire support. High mobility on road and can damage the russian's tanks. It is by no mean to be in front like a tank like they used it at first in Ukraine, it's also a wheeled vehicle so ofc, depending of the weather and terrains, it can't go to some place unlike tracked vehicle. Because it was at first made for the French army needs, mostly in Africa at that time. You're just a hater.
Those Caesar’s howitzers are amazingly awesome. Probably the favorite vehicle of mine.

This is a great in between of a tank and a tank killer. I love this vehicle and hope it helps out Ukraine where they need it. Hopefully this will help do quicker reconnaissance.

The French AMX series on World of Tanks are some of my all time favorite, a very good balance of armor, mobility, and firepower, and the French make some very good looking and unique looking armor vehicles compared to other countries in my opinion.

It's fast, carries one heck of a cannon for a fast wheeled vehicles, Has provision to operate in contaminated (chemical, biological, nuclear environments) and can go a long range on a tank of fuel. I am surprised that the engine only has 250 horsepower (184 kW), yet can go 53 MPH (85 KPH). That and it's relatively light weight are clear advantages from it being wheeled. The adjustable height reminds me of the Citroen's hydro-pneumatic suspension. Aside from provide protection by keeping low, it also makes it fun to jump :) 1:00

Not Bad, Though not Really a Tank. Correct. This a fire support and recon vehicle, used to support combined arms teams. The AMX-10 RC is a French armoured fighting vehicle manufactured by Nexter Systems for armoured reconnaissance purposes. Equipping French cavalry units since 1981, over 240 remained in service with the French Army in 2021. 108 units were sold to Morocco and 12 to Qatar. "RC" stands for "Roues-Canon", meaning "wheeled gun".
Considering World Defense Budget Ranking, France is not the greatest but have great materials > Leclerc tanks, Caesar artillery, Rafale jetfighters, great formation for conventional and special forces and French Foreign Legion and nuclear weapons. We are not the best army forces in the world but potentials enemys will think twice before attack us.
Much respect to France and President Macron. Both in attempting to prevent the invasion and addressing the invasion once it began, his efforts have been impressive. Also, he makes it all too apparent that we need younger political leaders here in the U.S. - in both parties.
Caesar is a first rate system. The AMX-10 can't go toe-to-toe with Russian MBTs, but it was never meant to do so. It's for recon, and it's great in that role. It will also be great in a supporting role in an aggressive/assault role--MBTs backed up by AMX-10s would be formidable. You really wouldn't want to be in a BMP, BMD, BRDM, or MT-LB staring down a 105mm gun. Jeez, I don't think I'd want to face that in a T-72 or T-80, let alone something older. Anything not a main battle tank from the 1980s or 1990s or newer would be toast.

@@goofthunder3763 for many reasons but the big one is that it shoots a proprietary 105 shell..it's not compatible with other 105mm..additionally as in the use have given so much 105mm ammo to Ukraine, we don't have enough to arm our own new light tank. Is anyone in NATO, but the USA going to ramp up ammo production?
There's a linguistic misunderstanding. "Char" in French has a much more generic meaning than Tank. It's the word that gave birth to the English word "car." A real tank in French is called "char blindé": armoured car. The etymology of "tank" is the hindi word "tānkh" and seems to have been used by the british because they looked like water or fuel tanks. Anyway, when President Macron says we are sending "chars" they don't necessarily mean tanks.
Thanks for detailing the etymology of 'char' and 'tank'. Knowing this won't help win a battle, but it adds perspective.
One, it's not a tank destroyer. They have a specialized 105 mm. It's not the closest thing to a light tank in NATO. Italy has the Centauro, which has way more armor and a 120mm cannon.
That 105mm gun isn't a reliable first-line MBT killer... but it will kill pretty much anything less. Can it reliably first-shot-kill a T-90 or Abrams or Leopard 2? Nope. Can it do so against any APC or IFV or older tanks, like T-60 or T-70 vehicles or older? They really can. If I was in a T-62 or T-72 and going into an environment with AMX-10s, I would really be very unhappy.
@@roentgen571 the AMX10 fires a less powerful 105mm round than the NATO 105mm to reduce recoil. Sure it would destroy IFVs, but the AMX has about the same armor as a western IFV. I don't know but I'd bet a 30mm APFSDS round would go right through the side armor.

Although this video was posted on March 2, it's clear that the content is at least a month out of date. The video content is good. But I wish these videos would actually embed the date on which they were created. That would resolve confusion about its accuracy.
30 AMX 10 RC will be delivered at the end of this month. Unit already trained in France.
Looking forward to the comments from all the 15 year old weapons experts who post under these videos, good for a laugh at least.

We are a country that has demilitarized a lot since the year 90. Changing a part of a Leclerc tank is more difficult than other tanks and we only have a small quantity. it is also much more expensive, and I don't agree we sent ceasars, AMXs and a lot of ammunition. it's just less impressive than other countries so we don't talk about it... but I'm not surprised you don't know
@Yberai exactly, and the French are also encouraging peace talks between Russian and Ukraine which is good, no need to add more fuel to the fire and make things worse, I'm glad that France isn't instigating the situation, and encouraging peace talks instead.

I'm divided, Easy to be for total war and annihilation when you are on an island or continent very far away. France does what it can and supports Ukraine without hesitation. But meanwhile Ukrainians and Russians are dying. Negotiations was totally rejected by England and America. I do not say that it would have succeeded, but why behave like this?
