I disagree that any sort of investigation is required. Fauci lied before congress. The case is shut and closed there. He needs to be removed from his position of power and held accountable for that, bare minimum. Once he is no longer able to leverage power to cover for his crimes, then a real investigation can be done.

Rand Paul, in contrast, was extremely clear and easy to understand, and backed up his claims with resources. He's constantly appealing to science in his speeches without ever detailing any actual science. He's the king of unclear.

If Rand had any clue what he was talking about, I'd agree. The problem is, he really doesn't. Technically, going by the specific wording of the moratorium on "gain of function" viral studies, Fauci's telling the truth. The NIH didn't illegally fund "gain of function" studies. They could have done a much better job of auditing/inspecting the studies they were funding (especially the Wuhan lab) but no laws were broken and implying otherwise like Rand did is simply irresponsible.
